Today, I begin the road to recovery after completely ravaging my skin with: bad cosmetics (not washing them off, using bacteria laden brushes..), poor diet (fatty french foods), stress (traveler's lifestyle), touching/picking to the point of infection, and au naturale self treatments (including: oatmeal, honey, oil of oregano, zinc, omega 3, probiotics etc, etc!..)
 
After finally breaking down and visiting the doctor, I was diagnosed with a severe staph infection in the form of impetigo..I just completed 10 days treatment for that including antibiotics, antiseptic spray, anti-fungal cream, etc. This cleared things up a bit and today I start a new skincare regime as prescribed by my French dermatologist. With no alternatives, I plan to follow her advise with an open-mind and optimistic heart.
 
THE ALLOPATHIC REGIMEN:
 
1. Tolexine Gé (Doxycycline Monohydrate) 100mg
Take at lunch time (12-2) with plenty of water and food for 3 months.
 
2. Pannogel 10 (Benzoyl peroxide 10%)
Apply every other night before bed.
 
3. Ketrel (Tretinoin Cream 0.05%)
Apply every other night before bed.
 
4. A-Derma Dermalibour Foaming Gel
Cleanse morning and night.
 
5. Avene Thermal Spring Water
Spray on after cleansing, leave for a few minutes and pat dry with a gauze compress.
 
6. Cetaphil Dermacontrol SPF 30 Cream
Apply in the morning after cleansing. 
 
7. Stop taking vitamins/supplements
 
 
NATURAL HEALTH GOALS:
 
1. Eat Healthy
INCREASE: Veggies, Leafy Greens, Fish, Nuts, Avocado, Garlic, Whole grains, Water
DECREASE: Alcohol, Caffiene, Starch, Salt
STOP: Sugar, Refined Grain, Dairy, Processed Foods
 
2. Exercise & Relax
Walk at least an hour per day.
Practice yoga, pranayama, & abhyanga for at least one hour.
Create a relaxing environment with essential oils, candles, etc.
 
3. Cultivate the Mind
Focus on other interests and curiosities.
Consume at least 1 hr of intellectually stimulating content per day.
Stop mindless google browsing
 
4. Stop Touching, Picking, & Obsessing
 
5. Keep Makeup Clean and Noncomedogenic
