Raw Food Diet Day 3

I am on day 3 of the vegan raw food diet. So far, I love it!
I feel more energized than I have felt in a long time.. And not the jittery energy that you get from caffeine, it just feels like nice, clean energy. I couldn't be happier about this because I have been battling fatigue for some years now. I would attribute the fatigue to my fibromyalgia and my not-so-great vegetarian diet. As a vegetarian, I would obviously not eat meat, but I really didn't consume nearly enough fresh produce. Instead, I would eat tons of processed garbage, tons of rice and pasta, and tons of dairy. My skin suffered and I have felt so run down, depressed, and anxiety ridden.. I really got to some dark, low places.
After doing tons and tons of research, I decided that enough is enough... I need to get down to basics and eat raw, clean, natural food. After all, that IS the kind of food that humans are supposed to eat. We didn't evolve to eat so much processed and pasteurized crap. Don't even get me started on the huge, positive environmental aspect of going vegetarian, vegan, and raw. Not to mention the horrible treatment of those sweet, innocent animals.
Anyway, here we are at day 3, and I feel absolutely wonderful. My energy is at a great level, I feel more focused and centered, and my inflammation has gone down considerably. I haven't had any fibromyalgia pain. Also, no new blemishes! I am expecting a detox breakout, so if/when that happens, I'll just go through the motions and hope for good results when it subsides. A few blemishes have surfaced that were already under the skin and cystic before I began the diet... So that's a good sign, and I'm happy with it.
I have also lost 2 pounds! I am keeping track of everything I eat, which really helps to keep me nutritionally balanced and stable. I am also drinking about a gallon of water a day, which has also been wonderful.. Apart from peeing every half hour. Normally it would take a lot of effort for me to enjoy drinking plain water, but since going raw, I can't seem to get enough of it.. Which I'm sure is helping with the detox. I have been a little itchy which could be from detoxing, but I also think I may have a tomato allergy/intolerance.. Gotta keep an eye on that.
A friend of mine is also going raw with me! So it's been great to have that support, since most people think I'm crazy. I think you'd be crazy not to at least try it.




I would love to go raw but I'm super skinny as it is and I can't afford to lose any weight! But I think it's great that your doing it and I plan to do it this summer when I'm out of school and have more time! But I do try to eat as many raw foods as possible and I feel great when I do and it definitely makes improvement in my skin! Good luck! Can't wait to see your progress!
Thanks for your response! You should check out fullyrawkristina on YouTube. I recently watched her video about why she decided to go raw.. She was really skinny (80 some pounds), and was worried about losing weight too... But she actually gained a healthy amount of weight once she went raw. She is still skinny, but she looks super healthy and her skin is amazing. She also has some great tips and recipes on her channel. :)

i love this blog! i am thinking about trying to go raw but i am not sure what to eat and plan my meals.

 

if possible please could you give me an example of what you would eat on a regular day?

 

I am looking around on youtube but there is like so much information to absorb lol

oh and your day 5 pics looks great seems to be really helping your skin! :)

I keep track of everything I eat, so I'll let you know everything I ate yesterday.

1 banana, 1/2 a cantelope, 1 cup mangos, 2 cups tea, 6 cups spring mix mesclun salad, 1 cup green onion, 1 cup sugar snap peas, 4 tbs fresh lemon juice (for water), 8 cherry tomatoes, 1 large tomato, 1 avocado, 1 cup mushrooms, 5 baby carrots, 3 radishes, 1 celery stalk, 1 nectarine, 2 tbs pico de gallo, 24 almonds, and 2 tbs hummus (the only thing I will make an exception for - I love it too much). I also drank over a gallon of water. I normally don't drink much water, but since going raw, I crave it soo much! Total calories: 1,321 :)

As you can imagine, I'm pretty much eating all the time... That's a lot of food, haha. I eat several small meals a day and I feel fantastic. I've also lost 5lbs so far!

Thanks for noticing the progress on my skin, I'm loving the results! Today I visited my parents, and my mom was really surprised by how smooth my face is.

I have yet to take off my makeup today, so we'll see how that went soon. My face has been pretty itchy today, so that sucks.

Anyway, i would be more than happy to help you along with going raw, it really is wonderful.
