How Benzoyl Peroxide Ruined My Face

acne benzoyl peroxide help
All over the internet, I have seen a lot of buzz around benzoyl peroxide.
about 5 or 6 months ago I was using a 10% benzoyl peroxide soap that I had purchased a while back. At first, I found that it actually helped, and I used the bar on my face and body. However, last summer, while using the soap bar, I noticed some redness along the sides and around my nose. Thinking that everything was normal and I was washing my face too much, I continued using the soap. Huge mistake. Some time after, tremendous irritation and inflammation occurred along my sensitive skin areas. (on my face.) Soon, my skin started to flake and peel. It didn't bleed at all, but instead released some type of clear liquid. Nothing like puss. It was absolutely disgusting. My face looked horrible, as if I had rosacea. Jacked up rosacea.  Pretty soon, I had myself an acne scar to rule them all. Yep. I stayed indoors a whole two months. So this scar never went away. Until....

I was looking in the kitchen cabinet for some spices when I noticed coconut oil/butter in a vintage jar. I decided to research it a little more, and what I found was awesome. It apparently helped with acne and especially with acne scarring. And it moisturized! There were also other benefits but they had no relation to acne. It seemed perfect! (for my skin, it sucked as a food product. No sweetness whatsoever!)
I used it and in about a week, acne scar was gone. and I don't mean sorta gone but still faintly showing, I mean
OUTTA HERE! It was some kinda miracle. I had no idea how, but I felt like I needed to share it with someone. So I gave it to my grandma. She ate it. Anyway, now I always keep some handy. On my counter. In a 54 oz. plastic container. Which costed 16 dollars. Of course you can get it cheaper and in smaller amounts. It is just amazing!
Also, I have no idea why the benzoyl peroxide did this to me. Anyone share a similar experience? Hope this helped.

Sincerely,

i've been using the bp 5% for quite a week right now and the flakiness has took over my face (feel really bad). based on dan's suggestions, 2.5% bp is a necessary as a treatment. he said that the effect is just for a while, maybe 1-2weeks?. hurmm, this totally scared me coz my face is totally drying and flaking. but i really hope it does for only a while :(

You really need to make sure to not peel or touch it! It will get worse and possibly scar . After 1 to 2 weeks if you do not see an improvement,or if it gets worse, discontinue using benzoyl peroxide! And use coconut butter to heal it. It won't burn your skin, and you should put it on before going to bed. Remember a little goes a long way, and try to apply it with a clean butter knife or the backside of a spoon. Spread it where your face is red and flaky, in all the problematic areas. If you toss and turn at night, put a towel on your pillow to avoid any of the oil staining it. Coconut butter will harden at cold temperatures and adopt a wax like texture, (especially during winter). and then it will melt completely and turn into pure oily liquid sometimes containing a few pieces of coconut butter inside here and there. I'd use it when it is hard because it is so much easier to apply!
I hope this helped you,

Sincerely,
