Where Are Your Lymph Nodes...possible Side Effect Of Accutane?

ok ok soooo...since being in the sun the skin on my face is so so sore ;'( and like rough and flaky. also since saturday night my jaw got helllaa sore (the left side) and now there is a sore lump along it. this is so tender to touch. its like along the bone.. none of my teeth hurt at all and im not due dental work or anything so it can't be that. im just wondering if its a possible side effect of accutane?? but i dont even know where lymph nodes are.. ithought they were like underyour jaw on the side of your neck rather than on jaw bone as such?

The Lymph Nodes that are most likely to become swollen are in the neck. They follow around to the front of the neck, under the chin. It's not something I've experienced but my understanding is that there would be swelling and tenderness under the chin, around the neck and leading up to neck to the ears. Never know, it could be that. Can't say I've heard anyone report symptoms like that in the Accutane logs and so on, although it could be related. Be worth keeping an eye on it and getting it checked out if it doesn't pass, just to be safe.

Fingers crossed that soreness gets better soon, too! I bet it's surprising how delicate the skin can be, seems to catch a lot of people off guard. I'm sure I'd be one to think, 'Nah, it'll be fine', only to end up getting burned to a crisp. :rolleyes:

from what ive been reading its apparantly a swollen gland. the best i could get to seeing a doctor is a phone consultation tomorrow -_- (yay for the british NHS) . swollen glands are listed as a rare side effect of accutane but tbh, there are that many possible side effects that i dont know whether its related or not lol. but thank you for your advice and wishes!

What happened with your swollen node? I have one on the the right side of my neck. Middle right side, like center of my neck not near the chin or near the ear. Im concerned

well, it was actually along my jaw line, not near a node but just slap bang on my jaw bone. is it like a pea sized lump that started off realllllyy sore and tender but is now just kinda..there? i managed to get to see a nurse two days later and she said it was probably nothing, that it could be a side effect of accutane and that if it doesn'tgo away by the following week to go see her again. it jst went away of its own accord :/ don't be too concerned yet. are you on accutane?
