No/low Sugar/sweet Diet - Still Bad Breakouts [Started 20Th May 2013].

Posted by Riddled, 24 May 2013 · 566 views

After a week or so of no sugar [processed sugar / table sugar etc] i have now removed anything sweet at all since Monday [20th May 2013].

Apart from some smallish amounts in some small amounts of condiments i couldn't avoid and about 100 grams of blueberries twice.

I am still breaking out badly on face.
Back is actually good.
Scalp as normal - handful but not bad.

Seriously fucking annoying,

On face it is the nasty painful red spots i can get which tond tend to turn into white heads for some reason.

As of today:

No active spots or pre spot pain on forehead at all - which is rare.
On red painful spot on side/crease of nose been active last 2 days,
Painful red spot on top lip not so visible - YET.
Pre spot pain on side of chin.
Redness below corners of bottom lip - some limited pain.
Painful red spot underneath chin.
Some pre spot pain on jaw line.

DECISIONS

I will decide over the next day or so whether i am going to continue with this fucking bullshit self experimentation that never goes any where. My acne on my face is as bad as it gets for me and thats with none stop deprivation so it all seems utterly self defeating at the moment. I will consider going back to an average diet for now seeing as acne is making my life very difficult at the moment and i cant really afford to be having these bad breakouts now.

I might go to the Doctors and ask about treatment, even if it kills me might give me a few good years rather than more of this endless fuckign around,

Have you been taking any supplements or vitamins?
Check out the post titled, Vitamin D cured my acne, under holistic health in the forum. Also, look at the posts under DIM, calcium D glucarate. My skin has gone from a zitty, clogged, sensitive, oily/flakey irritated mess to CLEAR and glowing in less than a month with the addition of these supplements. I am 35, have done 2 rounds of accutane in my 20's, tried every single rx and otc treatment you can imagine, lasers, injections, diet restrictions...I have spent many thousands if dollars over the past 22 years on my acne. All these attempts failed at clearing my skin, most made it worse.
I am ELATED at the change in my skin from adding these supplements. I don't know if it's the DIM, CDG, or the vitamin D3...I will play around with removing one at a time, but that will come later. I've been clear for over a month now, and I've stopped the restrictive diet weeks ago, as I couldn't deal with eating only bananas & almonds (lol). I ate 3 brownies, chips, a cupcake, bbq chicken wrapped in bacon & cheese stuffed jalepenos at a party 2 nights ago...my skin didn't have any spots, bumps or pimples from eating all that junk. Before the supplements, I would have erupted in at least 2 cysts by the end of that night.
I cannot rave enough about the miracle that has transpired from finding these supplements. Now, I don't worry about my acne anymore...I get to focus on cleaning up and healing past scars & marks from the years of acne I've endured.
Please PM me if you have ANY questions at all. I am happy to help in any way I can. I wish you the best of luck and hope this advice really works for all of you reading & suffering from acne.
Ooh, I forgot, I also take an omega 3. For all these supplements, any brand is fine. I get mine on Amazon, it's cheaper than the health food store or Whole Foods-but you will find these at these stores also. 3-6,000 iu of vitamin D3. Follow instructions for the rest of the supplements, as per directions on the bottle.

Hi, thanks for that. I am glad to hear you have hopefully found an answer. I know only too well what a relief it must be. I will definitely look into those.

At the moment i am taking a bit of Vitamin C now and then but that's it really. I have never had any succes with any supplements i have tried except for Vitamin B5, i was taking aprox 1.2 grams Vitamin B5 [Pantothenic Acid] with ~1.2 grams of Acetyl-L-Carnitine, it seemed to be drying my skin out and reducing breakouts but i stopped because i think my hair was starting to get thinner. I am a man though so could of just been Male Pattern baldness although seemed to be more overall thinning than the classic baldness pattern.

I also take Vitamin D now and then, especially in the winter but it doesn't do anything i think so i laid off it a bit just incase it was doing more harm than good. I don't think fish oils did anything for me either, if anything they made me worse. Same thing  happened with probiotics as well lol, pretty sure they break me out, in fact i can relate with what you say because it seems to be a general pattern with me, in that supplements end up just making things worse. Seems the placebo affect is malfunctioning with me, i have tried so many things now thinking i've finally found my answer but it never turns out to be.

I'm giving things a break for now because all my stupid diets and experiments seem to make things worst and i waste too much time and mental energy on all this. There is nothing quite like not being rewarded for your discipline.

I will put DIM and calcium D glucarate on the top of my list, cheers.

Brownies,

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I wish you well friend!
