There are different types of blemishes of acne. Some people get zits, or pimples, or cysts. I was just wondering if each of these types of Acne come from different causes. I mostly get pimples that are deep under the skin. I wonder why some people get all zits, or all cysts, or a combo? For example, do cysts form from hormone related issues only? Do zits form from food related issues? Anyone have comments?

I wanted to share my experience with the product Neosporin. Whenever I get a blemish and its bad enough that it scabs, I apply Neosporin cream to it. It helps speed up the healing time that cuts and scabs usually take. I know it sounds strange, but the next time you pick your skin, or it is bad enough to where it scabs, try this stuff. I had a major pimple that eventually started scabbing, and it was fully healed in 5 days. Just apply it once or twice a day when it starts to scab, and watch it heal fast.

In the past few weeks, I have conducted a little test on my face. I normally wash my face with cleanser once in the morning and once before I go to bed. I decided to not wash in the morning, and only at night. It seems that my skin is not as oily in the morning, so I stopped washing with my cleanser. I noticed that at night, my skin was the oiliest so it made sense to wash then. (Your skin may also be less oily in the morning as well.) I also stopped using a moisturizer altogether. From the first day of only washing once, I saw a huge decrease in oil. I was used to seeing oil 2-3 hours after washing, but now I don't get oily until 6-7 hours after! Amazing, right? I have been doing this for 3 weeks now, and it is working great.
Keep in mind that I just rinse my face with water in the morning, that's all. And at night, I use my cleanser. I'm not in anyway saying that this can work for you, but I truly believe that less is better. Its pretty easy to try this. I have been on here long enough to see people who cleanse more than twice a day, and they complain about how oily their skin is. Less is better.

Most of my skin is acne free, but my forehead still gets the brunt of it. Does anyone know if there is a direct correlation of acne and the forehead? Does anyone else just get spots there as well?

I've been using Dr Bonner's liquid tea tree soap twice a day for 10 months now. It makes my skin feel clean since I have oily skin. Over the weekend, I decided to not use it all and I noticed my skin is not oily anymore. I used a little jojoba oil for a moisturizer since my skin was a little dry. I just started rinsing my face with warm water, and that's it. Was soap irritating my skin to the point where it was making more oil?
I know people talk about how it doesn't matter what you use or don't use on oily skin, and that sebum just produces either way. But now I'm having second thoughts. I've been through this before when I stopped using products on my back and chest when I had acne there. It all went away once I stopped. Maybe I'm just getting older. Any thoughts/comments? |
