Hi,
I've used TCA in the past (15%) and it's amazing stuff. I got my last TCA about two years ago so i'm looking for a stronger one this time around to finish the job off. Last time I bought from 'The Original Skin Store' and obviously they're genuine because it worked great. This is what I was considering buying this time around : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/25-TCA-Chemical-Peel...%3A1|240%3A1318 However, I also noticed this on ebay (100% but you dilute it) and it's quite a bit cheaper to the uk. Has anyone tried this brand before? Do you think it's genuine? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TCA-Acid-Chemical-Sk...%3A1|240%3A1309

I applied some TCA to an area of my face about 5 days ago and its worked pretty well, though I can still see some of the red marks. I burnt it down a lot and since applying cream at night theres been a lot of white skin forming over some of the area and some of its fallen off but its quite red still. If I keep applying cream at night and keep the area dry how long will it be until the skin turns a more normal colour?
Thanks

Hi, if anyone has performed a TCA peel at home I was wondering if you could shed some light on a few questions I have?
Firstly, is trichloroacetic acid (TCA) a stronger alternative to glycolic acid, so 50% TCA is stronger than 50% glycolic? Secondly what concentration would you recommend? I've seen them generally ranging from 10%-50%, there is one that is 100% TCA but this seems a bit excessive? If I do it I would use the acid on a small area at a time anyway, I don't want my whole face to be bright red and peeling.. Thirdly, how long do you leave the TCA on for? Is it roughly 1-5 minutes as with glycolic acid? Also do you neautralise with bicarbonate of soda as you do with glycolic? My last question, after you've done the peel do scabs form? Any colouration of the skin? How long does it take before the skin usually heals back to normal? With glycolic acid i don't really get scabs unless I leave it on for a long time and it burns a lot. Thanks in advance.

I was wondering if anyone in the UK has had this procedure done?
How much did it cost for one treatment? btw I mean having it done professionally. I know you can buy home kits but I think my parents would freak out... they don't even like me using glycolic acid.

Before you apply a pore strip, use glycolic acid on the area in question. Leave it on for a few minutes and neutralise. Not only does this break down the skin surrounding the pores; making the blackheads easy to remove, it also makes water 'stick' to the skin, making the pore strip stick more firmly. This will remove MUCH more than trying to open the pores using warm water.
