I don't have severe acne, but I do have many lingering red marks because I get pimples before the old marks have healed. Right now I have like two-three active small pimples(size of whiteheads), and the rest are marks. I would say that it's mild-moderate acne. But the problem is that I have really really oily skin, which is likely the source of my acne. Whenever I go out for too long(9+hours), I will come back home and get pimples the next day because my skin is too oily. I have not yet seen anyone with skin as oily as mine. I have been using Dan's products(low dosage version, kinda like ProActiv) for like 4-5 months. I was originally intent on going Accutane, but after I read the NEGATIVE ACCUTANE EXPERIENCES thread I became really scared. Is it worth it to go on Accutane to solve my acne/oily skin problem once and for all? Are there any other medications that can reduce oily skin? I need advice badly. Don't want permanent joint pains. Maybe a low accutane dosage will help me?

I am entering university and I want to get Accutane. I have student health insurance(provided by the university), and I want to know if the campus doctor will be able to prescribe Accutane to me. Also, will this type of insurance cover the costs for Accutane, since I heard it is very expensive without insurance. I go to university of california, santa cruz by the way. If not, what ways can I get Accutane legally and affordably?

Would it be alright to use a harsher cleanser? I have super oily skin and even after using Dan's cleanser I have a shine on my face. The only time it will look matte is if I use those harsh cleansers. They don't dry my skin out if I'm not on BP though.

I have used Proactiv before and thought I was resistant to BP, so I jumped in at one pump. Turns out I was wrong and started drying and getting really red. Now I've cut down to the starting amount, but my face is still red. Should I stop applying BP to let it rest for a few days and reset, or just continue on at the starting amount and let it hopefully subside? Also would it be a good idea to use AHA+ right now as moisturizer?
