I have been on lymecycline before and it worked very well.
I stopped taking it for 6 months to see how it went and it wasnt good.
Ive just started again 3 weeks ago and my acne is worse than ever.

Should i expect this to die down or is it possible that antibiotics are making it worse?

hey
apaprently when firat starting antiobitiocs you can have an inital breakout for a couple of weeks and sometimes it can take 6-8 weeks for things to start to improve. i cant really rememebr myself coz ive been on them for a couple of years (not recommended believe me) but it should help at some point.

i'm a 20 yr old female, have been on oral antibiotics for several years and recently started dianette in combo with the minocin i was already taking. i went back to the docs after being on dianette for 2 months with no improvement cos i was thoroughly miserable, and she changed my minocycline to lymecyline, saying she couldn't see any reason why it would get any worse, and it might improve things, and keeping me on dianette. now my skin is TERRIBLE, way worse than it was, i'd been on minocin for about 6 months before changing. i've now been on lymecycline (still taking dianette) 2 1/2 weeks and my skin has been getting continuosly worse since then. topically was using isotrex gel but it makes me v. red, so changed to adapalene...what do i do?! make up makes it worse but it looks so terrible i dont want to go out without any on. i've booked a derm appt for christmas...is there anything i can do before then?

eusa_wall.gif i've been taking antibiotics (i think it's my last day of ABs.) for a non acne related issue, and i broke out! not sure if it has to do wit the antibiotics, but i thought they would prevent a breakout but they didn't! sad.gif

Hi

I am on lymecycline at the moment, only been on it for 5 days but I can see an improvement as I usually get red raw deep spots on my chin, and now they are less red and settling down abit.

Actually I dont know if its due to the lymecycline or the fact that I have been on Dianette for two months and perhaps that is kicking into my system.

Keep on taking the lymecycline, as they are supposed to be the best anti-biotic and Dianette worked wonders for my mates skin.
