just curious as to when people who started accuatne noticed that they were starting to clear what month, week day?

also when if you got the initial breakout did that happen?

i have bene on tane for nearly 5 weeks and havent noticed much happening, so am definitely interested in hearing when others started to clear.

Well, I'm on week 5 too and the only difference I noticed is dry skin. 5 weeks is nothing. We always want the results right now. So don't worry you will start clearing up.

Also, if you post it in the prescription forum, you will get much more replies.

Im on week 2 and this is the clearest ive ever been i didnt really get an inital breakout i just started clearing from day 1.

see, now that's impossible. Nothing can happen from day one.

cool thanks guys, yeah i was told 6 week mark you should see some clearing mind you its hard tho not to look in the mirror every hour hoping to notice a difference that could be my problem right there.

Lol what the hell i wouldnt lie about somethng so stupid. Im just saying i didnt get an innital breakout i woke up teh day after and my skin seriously looked better. I didnt put this post in to cause confussion lol some ppl.

it is possible not to have an initial breakout. like you, a lot of people noticed some clearing up right after they started.

in my case, when I started tane i had some breakouts caused by my previous regimen. they dried up quickly and i still got some breakouts daily, but they were the same breakouts i had when i was without tane, so I didn't worry.

On Week 4 I noticed a lot of whitehead production on my nose and cheeks, and that's the time I started to worry. I extracted them.

I'm on Week 6 now and the right side of my face is clear...the left side, specially the jawline and the forehead have still some tiny bumps with whiteheads seeds on them that are soooo itchy they're driving me crazy.

So although I'm almost clear i might not be out of the initial breakout phase yet. I'm hoping i'm out of that phase but...all i can do is

I myself am on a 60mg dose of accutane a day and i am experiencing weird almost trip like occurances where i become very agitated and worried but it only lasts for brief seconds and i stabilize out. This is only day two i hope my body will adjust to the drug and become resilient to acne. My skin on the forehead looks smoother in certain places, but my nose broke out slightly in little red marks that are kinda reminiscent of my early acne. I hope it starts working better soon

I am on day 40, and I still get small breakouts. Actually, I wouldn't even call it a breakout...it's just a pimple or two at a time. I still have a LOT of red marks...

My initial breakout wasn't all that bad. I got it about a week and a half into the course. It only lasted for about four or five days, and it cleared quickly. Ever since then I haven't had a real massive breakout.

oh and I am taking 30mg twice a day

I'm on day 103... only 37 left.... I started to REALLY clear around week 12... thats when the breakouts really subsided almost completely... since then I've only gotten 2... and I think they were due to my period

I'm just starting week 2 and my skin is not dry but I'm getting lots of breakouts - well, 4 big (cystic) ones in total. 2 are from before accutane that got much worse and 2 are new from after i started accutane.


I am only taking 20mg/day as my family doctor didn't think my acne was too severe and also I weigh a little over 50kg. He only prescribed 8 weeks. I am really starting to have doubts whether accutane can cure me. My acne can get really bad and they scar.

I have been on tane for 5 weeks either and I have not noticed anything but red face and dry lips. I'm on 40mg/day. I wash my face with Avene products twice a day and I put a lot of makeup to hide those fu** cysts.I'm waiting for results too!

my derm put me on 40 mg of amnesteen every other day (this is my 3rd course, my 2nd course was stopped due to a bad blood test). i'm quite small 5'2 105ish lbs. do you guys think that this dose for a few months will help "cure" my acne? or do all patients get bumped up to 80 mg eventually? in the past 40 mg every other day was enough to make me red, flakey, and dry.

I am 35 and just started Accutane this week. This might be crazy but my skin is clearing everywhere face, back, shoulders. I was a mess but I find it hard to believe it is working this fast. My only concern is that I might develop side effects. The doctor scared the hell out of me. Any input?

I started this week and my whole body is clearing. I am amazed.

accutane may be a miracle drug but dont take it for granted, everyone has their acne problems start clearing at different times o_o some start clearing from day 1 and the more average would be 2-3 months in the treatment, which i would not like majority of people start noticing big changes starting month 2-3 so dont be too hopeful that everything clears fast =] (im on 2nd course day 11 40 mg/day and im worse than before i started accutane ) the first month will be tough but after that everything should be alright

Accutane. I think it is the same shit. But today, things are different. It APPEARS that the bumps that never would completely resolve are now bing pushed to the surface. I think this is what poeple are talking about then they say initial flare up. But I ahev to say my shoulders look great.
