Hey,

I've had mild acne for about 3 years now. It has always been its worst and most horrific on my chin, but thats not to say I've had some nasty acne on other areas of my face.

I've been on Lymecycline and thats really cleared up my face, but my chin is still a danger zone for acne. I've always dismissed it as a place where I just get acne the worst, but now I'm thinking it might be caused by me dribbling in my sleep. The acne always seems to be worst below the two left and right corners of my mouth on my chin, but the centre of my chin under my lips seems to always be clear; its just those two sides which have the worst clumps of acne.

I notice that when I sleep I do dribble from the corners of my mouth and I have to wipe it off my chin, could this be a possible cause? Is there some sort of bacteria in saliva? And if so what can I do to prevent this?

Thanks.

About 1 year ago I went on Zineryt at the start of my acne treatment and it worked wonders for me. Unfortunately it lost its effectiveness after about 4 months but did clear me during that period.

I've been through numerous other medications including Retin-A and BP and nothing has worked and made my skin worse.

Its been at least 7-8 months since I used Zineryt and what I am asking is: with acne medication, if you come of it for a while then go back on it again, does it usually work?

Thanks.

I'm nearing my way towards Accutane and I have to stay on Lymecycline (Tetrasyl 300) for another 2 months before I can be considered for Accutane. Lymecycline is doing a very medicore job for me, it helps keep my acne under control but there is little improvement.

I have been through loads of topical medications including Retin-A, Finacea and BP and none of them work for me except Zineryt (Erythromycin, Zinc) which kept me relatively clear for 5 months but it stopped working after that so I have not been on it for quite a while.

Due to its effectiveness and the fact that I have no other topical options, I asked my GP If I could have it alongside Lymecycline but he said I could not because it would be useless as it just works the same way as Lymecycline anyway.

Is this correct? Surely the Zineryt would enhance the Lymecycline if anything.

I'm going on Accutane soon and I need a good cleanser and moisturizer and I've read that Cetaphil is the best for Acccutane but I cannot seem to find anywhere good to buy it in the UK.

Cetaphil have a UK website but stupidly only let you order by printed form and cheque and only offer a cleanser. This is ridiculous as I'm sure they would have a potential huge market in the UK.

Does anyone know any reliable websites or eBay sellers who stock the Cetaphil range? Or is there a good alternative to Cetaphil for Accutane in the UK?

Thanks.

I'm going on Accutane soon and I am peterfied of an initial breakout.

My skin is mild, verging on moderate but I am going on Accutane as a last resort for various previous failed medications.

I'm having thoughts of waking up with severe acne during an IB. I know people will consider this slightly vain, but as I havn't had severe acne it would be horribly traumatic for me to walk into work from having mild acne to severe acne.

The reason I'm scared is because I had to come off Retin-A after a 3 month disastrous IB, and I understand Accutane contains similar compounds to Retin-A?

Does the Accutane IB generally make your own class of acne (mild in my case) slightly worse, or will it always increase your acne to a severe level no matter the level of your original acne?
