8 months post accutane update

It has been 8 months since I've been off accutane and my skin is still 100% clear. 1 year ago I was going through the initial breakout that lasted until Thanksgiving and I wanted to give up because my skin was only getting worse. I'm so glad I stuck it out because if it wasnt for accutane, i would SILL be fighting acne.... wasting money and time with topicals, hiding behind the most expensive makeup, and making excuses not to go anywhere. I didnt think I would ever be able to go one day without a new pimple.... but it has been 8 months!! If you are going through the initial breakout right now, dont give up!!! I know the beginning of accutane is miserable, but in the long run, it was the best decision I've ever made. Good luck to you all!!

5 months post tane

I have been off accutane for 5 months now and my skin still looks amazing!! I have been clear for 7 months and counting. I have gotten soooo much support and helpful advice from this site while i was on accutane but lately I can't hardly stand to read posts on here anymore!! This seems to be more of an "ANTI-ACCUTANE" message board. I HATE it when people get on this site and say how terrible accutane is and it ruined their life and it should be banned. How selfish!!! Just because it didn't work for one person, doesn't mean it should be taken away from someone who it WILL help. That's like smoking cigarettes, then complaining that it gave you cancer when you made the conscious decision to do it in the first place. The only difference is, accutane actually DOES help people and smoking doesn't. There are a lot better things to bitch about! Accutane may not help everyone, but enough to matter. It is just frustrating to me that there are people out there who THINK they are being helpful by discouraging others from taking accutane when it could be the only thing that cures their acne. That was the case for me!! I couldn't stand the thought of living with acne for one more year.... and accutane gave me my life back. My side effects were managable while on accutane and completely cleared up after stopping. If you think accutane is a life ruiner, look at the pictures in my gallery... acne is a life ruiner. I believe everyone is entilted to their opinion and it is important for others to know the potential risks... but it isnt fair to use scare tactics and blanket statements to discourage people from taking this drug. If someone had scared me out of taking accutane, I would be crying in my room hiding my skin from the world instead of out enjoying my life. This site is for HELPFUL advice, not bullying. That being said, eat your veggies, always wear sunscreen, always use protection, and don't drive drunk.

eyebrow plucking

ive been plucking my eyebrows for YEARS (at least 10) and as long as i stay on top of it everyday, i dont need to wax them. well my questions is... how do you get them to quit growing back!?! im sick of plucking the same hairs over and over! even when the root comes out (the black thing on the end) they still grow back a few days later! help!

SO SCARED to switch pills

ive tried SOOO many different types of birth control pills and have had side effects on all of them so my gyno gave me a NEW one to try. Lo/Ovral (actually its Low-Ogestrel the generic) but im worried that it will cause my acne to come back (im clear thanks to accutane)! i know every pill is different for everyone... but has anyone tried this pill? help me!

switching birth control pills AGAIN

i had a lot of success using ortho tri cyclen over the hears to help my acne. i have tried at elast 6 other pills and had been using desogen for a while but didnt think it helped my skin as much as OTC. so ive been using OTC for a few months and have a lot of break trough bleeding and possibly some weight gain. so now i might go back to desogen... or try something new. its so difficult!! Yaz sounds like it is supposed to fix all the problems.... but ive heard a lot of bad reviews so im scared of tryign it. any ideas ladies? i go to the gyno tomorrow to talk about switching pills again
