Hi everyone. It's been a very long time since I last made a post on here! I thought I'd make my 'comeback' with a short review of my experience on Dan's Regimen. I hope you find it useful!
Brief Skin History Since I was about 13, I had mild to moderate acne hich mainly consisted of multiple whiteheads and the occassional big spot. When I was 15 I went on Accutane and my acne improved but I stopped it because it made my skin far too dry. After that I used loads of different products to help keep my skin under control. When I turned about 20, my acne was at it's worst. By the time I turned 21 my face was a wreck of whiteheads and horrible huge spots! Then I started Dan's Regimen.... The First Three Months On The Regimen Like most people, my skin took a while to get used to Benzoyl Peroxide (BP) but after about two weeks it was fine. Two months in my acne had no improved and it actually seemed to be getting worse. For the first time ever, I got two massive pustules that stayed with me for about 3 weeks. I soon discovered that (for me anyway) BP was 'blocking' the heads from my new spots rising. So I had all the spots and pustules and I couldn't burst them! In the end, I had to use a pin. Very horrible and messy! I felt very let down by the regimen. Then around month three, my acne started to get better. By better I mean, I still got new spots but they weren't as bad or as frequent as before. After the three months - up to now To this day I still get spots but they come and go and overall my face is a lot better than it was. Sometimes BP tends to 'block' the heads of new spots and I still have to use the pin method - but not very often! I have discovered over the past year that alcohol (in beer, wine, spirits etc..) seems to have a MASSIVE effect on my skin. Every time I have a night of drinking with my pals, two days later, I'll have about 4-5 new average spots. So far, I haven't found a way to prevent this but I'm certainly looking! Overall - Dan Kern's Regimen can help you. It helped my acne and I still do the regimen every morning and evening. Like I say - I still get the spots but they aren't as bad as they were and some onf the time - it's my own fault for drinking alcohol. So anyway - give Dan's Regimen a go and see for yourself! If there's one piece of advice I can give you - it is to be PATIENT!! Give the regimen a full 4-5 months before expecting a definite improvement. Good luck! |

Thank you for posting this my skin is going through those very same stages! Im at the beginning of month two (today acutally is the 2 month mark) and while my skin is greatly improved from 2 weeks ago I still have those very same "headless bumps" you were talking about. I've had one for about 2 weeks UGH! I plan to continue DKR and my Bactrim until the end of December so that'll be a good 6 months. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to give up while on the regimen, but your post just gives me hope and really reenforces being patient!

I've only been using the Regimen for a month or so. My skin has gotten slightly better but i still keep getting new spots - usually one at a time though so it's more manageable. I've also started using Perfectil vitamins, taking loads of smoothies and veg. I definitely find alcohol has a massive effect on my skin. I don't drink that often (for Ireland) only once every two weeks - and then it probably is binge drinking. Other than that my diet is extremely healthy and i drink tonnes of water - and i don't think I could give up alcohol because I have to live and socialise normally. I think i probably have those bumps without a head you talk about - though i get confused about the differences between pustules and papules and other terms. These are not just whiteheads as they start much deeper under the skin and are quite painful until they come up. Then they can take about a week from start to finish.

i don't think that BP prevents pustules from opening up, but it makes them take awhile longer before they open.

Personally I am the LEAST patient person in the world! lol. But I stuck with the regimen and seen the results. Like I say, my only problem now is my alcohol intake and how it makes me break out. If I find anything that helps I'll certainly post it! |
