A Claravis Retrospective

Yesterday I took my last Accutane pill, left the house without makeup, and went swimming for the first time in years. Let me tell you, this is a dream come true. I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful transformation.

Here's a summary of my course:

Month 1: 30mg
Month 2: 30mg
Month 3: 40mg
Month 4: 40mg
Month 5: 40mg
Month 6: 40mg
Month 7: 40mg

I'm 5'7 and 113lbs, so my cumulative dose was around 150mg/kg.

I'll be writing more about my course, along with some of my skin history and a couple of random stories. Now that I'm no longer desperately trying to fix my acne, I feel like I can really settle down and put my thoughts in order. Hope you enjoy!

Introductions and Thank-Yous

Hi everyone,

Well, this may seem backwards...but I just finished my Accutane course, and now that my skin is clear, I've decided to join the boards. I've been fighting acne for 9 years, so I ought to be sick of it all by now...but as it turns out, I'm pretty addicted to this site. I can't stop reading about skin and thinking about how weird it is. And I'm hoping my success story will help people out. When my face was at its worst, I devoured posts from people who had managed to finally clear their skin, because it was such a surreal thought that there could be life after acne.

So anyway, here's a little bit about me: I'm 21 years old, and I'll be graduating college in June with a biology degree. I spend most of my time drawing funny pictures and shredding the guitar on Rock Band. Also going to class and reluctantly writing my honors thesis. Like most of you, I've spent an appalling amount of money on acne treatments that didn't work, and I've spent way too many hours with my nose two inches from the mirror. I've been through cystic acne, compulsive picking, depression, and finally Accutane. As lots of you have already said, this site is pretty wonderful. So thanks everyone, for all your posts and experiences. I'm looking forward to sharing my own.
