So I just went to the derm a few days ago and he put me on Clindamycin lotion twice during the day and Tretinoin Gel 0.25 at night.
My question is, should I wash my face before applying the Tretinoin? I just wasn't sure if the Clindamycin needs to be washed off or not first.

I haven't been out of the house much the past few weeks. I've just been swamped with homework and my skin hasn't exactly been giving me the motivation to get out and do much.
But I was just invited to a Halloween party, and I'd actually really like to go. There are a lot of people who are going to be there that I haven't seen in a while though..and the last time they saw me, my skin looked a lot better than it does now. So my question is, what's the best thing I can be for Halloween to hide my acne?

I've been using a BHA product on my face for about 7 weeks now. It appears that in this time, my breakouts have become a little more frequent. I'm just wondering if it's acting the same as a retinoid would? Is this still some sort of IB phase and should I stick with it, or does this mean it's not working for me and I should try something else?

Anyone else using this stuff? I've been on it for about 7 weeks now but I can't say my face is looking much better.

I was on Differin 0.3 gel for about a year and a half, and that year and a half was probably the best my skin has looked in YEARS. I was also taking the antibiotic Bactrim this whole time. But a few months ago, I started breaking out again. Frustrated because I hadn't broken out like that in a year and a half, I stopped the Differin because I figured it wasn't working for me anymore and I needed to find a new treatment. I continued taking the Bactrim, but my skin wasn't getting any better so I just stopped taking that too. Plus I figured it wasn't good to be on an antibiotic that long.
So I've been off the Differin for about 8 months now and have tried a few different treatments, but my skin isn't getting any better. And in retrospect, I wish I hadn't stopped the Differin because the breakout I experienced on it is nothing compared to what I'm dealing with now (although at the time it seemed much worse. I think I just freaked out). So I'm just wondering if I should go back on the Differin? I still have about half a tube and I have some prescriptions for more. Will it still even be effective though? I'm just dreading having to go through the whole IB again. Acne sucks. |
