I have mild to maybe slightly moderate acne, but very persistent acne, especially on my forehead.
I have made it even worse by picking at it. For the most part, I've done less picking lately and my forehead isn't filled with marks as much as before. How bad was my picking? Well, the right side of my face is jumbled with hyperpigmentation, and I haven't had a pimple there in over a year! That's right, the healing process has been going on for over a year, and I'm suffering from these dark spots. It has made my skin look far worse, than it really is. About 2.5 months ago, my regular doctor prescribed tazorac, and honestly, I have seen some minimal improvement, but I just want all the acne to finally end. She also gave me a referral to a dermatologist in case I needed it. So, I'm thinking that if I don't see more improvements with tazorac, around Decemeber, I'm going to make an appointment. My point is, what kinda medicine can I expect to be prescribed? I know no one here is a dermatologist, and my the best answer would be from the doc himself/herself. But, a lot of you have visited the derm, so I'm sure you can make a logical guess. Remember, I have mild-moderate persistent acne.

I've been using tazorac for over a month on my forehead, and I was beginning to feel that it was slowly helping me get rid of the persistent acne. Boom, today I wake up, and I feel at least 5 pimples on my forehead. They're the kind you feel under your skin, just before they begin to expose themselves. I'm so pissed right now.

Lately my acne has been getting better, therefore; I've become more tolerant of my pimples. In other words, I let them die out naturally, without any popping or picking. 2 day ago, I had a small pimple in them middle of my forehead. It wasn't ready to go, but it didn't stick out like a sore thumb either. But for some reason, right before I showered, I squeezed, managed to get all the pus out, but in the process basically ripped/scratched a part of my skin off. Now I've been dabbing Aloe Vera like crazy, but I still have a sizable red mark/wound from picking. It looks much worse than it would of been as pimple. Great. Maybe, I'll finally learn this time to leave it alone, especially in noticeable areas.

The last two days I've noticed really dry skin around my mouth and cheek area. Now this is really weird. I use tazorac, but I only apply it to my forehead, which happens to be oily and not dry. Other than medicating my forehead, I use nothing else. So, does anybody have an idea why my skin is drying up in the areas mentioned?

I recently started using tazorac. Now I read that before applying it, you should moisturize. The thing is my forehead is already excessively oily, so should I still moisturize?. Usually I apply moisturizer and tazorac at night, and when I wake up in the morning I can feel and see the excessive oil. So, should I stop applying moisturizer?
