Well, finally got Retin-A 0.25% today Along with Bactrim DS. Well, I got the generic brand but there the same thing right? eusa_dance.gif Anyways, I'll be keeping a log and post a few pics up later.

To start off, according to my doctor my acne is "moderate" It may look worse to me but its moderate.(compliment I guess?) Anyways, he prescribed me Retin-A and Bactrim DS for twice a day for the first week and once a day after the first week. My blogs or "posts" will be every Friday since it seems like it would be a good idea to post once a week instead of everyday surprised.gif

Week 1:

I just got it, my face looks like crap to me. Not much else I can say. ninja.gif

Since accutane is vitamin A and topical retinoids are Vitamin A also can't they be use to slow down the production of oil? Kinda like a topical accutane? My acne is moderate along with the fact that my face produces enough oil to provide a family a years worth of oil eusa_wall.gif I've been on a good amount of antibiotics which didn't do much for me but not alot of topicals treatments. Since the chances of me getting accutane are low. What can retinoids do for me?

Edit: Also, after doing alot of searching and research. I'm thinking of using Retin-A and aczone while taking Bactrim DS orally. Would this be a good combination?

Also whats the difference between Retin-A and retin-A micro? And is RAM better than tarzorac or do they basically do the same thing? I'm just bubbling with questions with each new thing I find out about retinoids xD

Well, tomorrow I'm going for a check-up on my face to see how Bactrim DS was working for me (Which wasn't very well at all sad.gif ) He said that accutane will be the last choice if results weren't being showed in 6 months. He has pretty much been my derm for about 5 years now until my mom got a new job and our insurance changed confused.gif So now I'm going to go to a new doctor who will do the checkup. The thing is though I'm worried that he won't know what accutane is or will want to try "other things" before he prescribes the drug to me. Should I just schedule an appointment with a derm or see what my new family doctor will do? eusa_think.gif
