My friend who studies to become an estetician asked me today if she could practise on me and give me a facial. I told her I was on skin medication and had to think about it. So, is it safe to do a facial while on Accutane? I'm on a low dose, so technically my skin isn't especially irritated. I think that at least most parts of the facial would be no problem, but should I tell her to leave out the skin peel procedure?

Recently I have found breathing not so pleasant. It's slightly heavy even when I'm being still and not moving around. Normal?

Okay, I've been on tane for about a month now and haven't really experienced any severe side-effects. My lips are the only ones that have dried up consideribly much, but my skin isn't flaking like crazy and my eyes and nose are normal. I only need to moisturize my skin once or sometimes twice a day, but otherwise no problems, no flaking whatsoever. Every pimple I get turn into a blackhead or stay as red bumps on my skin and then they just sit there.
I was put on a lower dose than normal because of my atopic skin and the derm highered the dosage a few days ago, but I still feel very worried that something's wrong when I don't experience any good or bad change at all. I take my tane with Omega 3 pills to help the absorption and I don't eat anything that contains a lot of vitamin A. Has anyone else experienced this?

My cousin lent me all 9 seasons of X-files a while ago. I have been watching them with great interest and at some point I noticed how unperfect skin most of them had. You can easily see all their small acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles and stuff like that. It made me feel good, 'cause it's such a relief to see that far from everyone has perfect skin and that there are lots of people who are comfortable with themselves and don't worry about small things like that.
What makes you feel good about your skin?

I'm not really sure where I should post this question, but since I'm interested to try prescription stuff I guess this is the place.
So, my question is: Is it a good or a bad idea to go to a derm and get prescribed something right now in summer when I'll get exposed to a lot of sun and heat? Would it potentially have disastrous effects on my skin to be on some kind of acne medication troughout the summer? |
