After a big cyst...some people develop this type of scar
1. Try not to pick at it in hopes of making the bump go away.. cause it wont and you're just delaying it from improving 2. Get a Sulfur Wash...use it in the morning. Just rub it into your skin and leave it for 5 mins. This is a great way to rid your face of oil and dirt accumulated from the night and you want to minimize any radicals within the scar. Keeping it clean and healthy is a good way start to your day. 3. You also need a prescription of tazorac. It is a retinoid you can only get from a dermatologist. Its really important you get some type of retinoid. You will use this after your sulfur wash. Rub it into your scar. Try not to press too hard that you damage your skin. Massaging this into the scar will improve circulation so that blood and nutrients can get to it more efficiently. The tazorac helps break up scar tissue and also keeps your pores and oil under control. Use this also before bed. 4. Get some mederma. Some people claim that it doesn't work and it might not but if you have some extra cash you should get it because it may help a little, i liked it and still use it. It doesn't clog pores or anything. It really soothes the scar and makes it softer. Wait a half hour or so after putting tazorac on and massage mederma into the scar. You can apply this a couple times through out the day if you want. 5. Get exercise, go for a walk outside or ride your bike. It will increase circulation in your body and promote wound healing. Will also make you feel better 6. Get your hands on some Zinc supplements. Zinc is great for your skin. It helps with healing a lot and prevents acne in general. Besides that just make sure you are eating enough. Getting the right amount of nutrients your body needs to work at its best is important. Also don't expect to see amazing results right away. You're not going to wake up one day and be like OMG its gone!!! But over the span of a few months using this method that has worked for me... you can do this regimen and look in the mirror and say hey it is looking better. There might be periods of time that you dont notice any improvement, but don't let that get to you. Just keep following this regimen and it will continue to work until you're happy with your scar |

My derm injected steroid into the scar and it's fully flat after 2 treatments. It now looks like PIH and I wonder if it'll heal like a PIH.
