I am on Tazaroc. I went today to get my brows and lip waxed and the esthetician told me since I am on Tazorac I have to wait 7 days without using the Tazorac before I can get waxed. While I understand where she is coming from this has never been an issue before. Has anyone else on a topical retinoid experienced this? What do those of you on topical retinoids do about waxing?

Ask a surGEN if ZYDRATE is right for you!

All I can say is that I'm on a topical retinoid, and the last time I used an upper lip cream, the skin there became very red, scaly, and irritated. I know that retinoids significantly thin your skin, and that your skin also becomes much more sensitive and much more easily damaged.

Basically, I think you should definitely follow her advice and stop using it for 7 days before waxing, because it's entirely possible that you'll regret it if you don't.
