Ok as I see it, back in the olden days all the way back to ancient Egypt there was never acne like there is now a days and I think I may know some of the reasons.

They didn’t have chemicals, nutrients, preservatives, additives, toxins, agricultural compounds etc in their food, and we do and the ones being used haven’t been around long enough for anyone to actually know the side effects of being exposed to all these for so long. It was also impossible to eat unhealthy like we do these days, seeing as they didn’t have junk food.

"There are over 14,000 man-made chemicals added to our American food supply today. Food additives are not natural nutrition for humans or their pets. Children are suffering the most from food additives because they are exposed to food chemicals from infancy, and human bodies were not meant to be exposed to the degree of chemicals and food additives that we are currently" (from a ext. site)

They did nearly everything we have a machine to do for us manually, like they use to hand wash their clothes, they walked a lot more cos there wernt cars etc, all this exercise extra throughout the day would of helped with reducing acne.

They didn’t shower everyday - yeah I know that’s gross and I’m not suggesting you stop showering; I personally could never give up my daily shower. Any way have a think about it - we all get smelly if we don’t shower after a day or two. So surely they should have as well right? Well if that’s the case, why was there never any mention of everyone smelling like crap ever in all the history books and stuff! Probably because there body’s didn’t get washed everyday - so the oils on their entire body didn’t get stripped away, and ours do because we shower everyday so maybe our entire body goes into this giant oil producing thing everyday only taking little more than a day for it to start to producing so much we start smelling. If this does happen (probably doesn’t, but I’m just saying keep your mind open) to us then it wouldn’t of happened to them because they didn’t shower everyday so therefore there is like no irritation what so ever from soap and so they don’t break out as much

They had how many products made from chemicals that were put onto your skin, teeth and hair? None, less chemicals must be good for the skin right?

What was their clothes made of? Wool or cotton and that’s about it, they didnt have polyester and all the other man made clothing materials that can irritate skin really bad.

Did they have air pollution like we do today?, I have minimal pollution were I live. But some of you live in huge metropolis’s that pollute like crazy and that can’t be good for skin in one way or another.

There’s probably more that I missed, but you get the point.

Ok, so I was gona put this in the “Why are guys so afraid of make-up? ” thread, but decided to make my own because it’s not just about guys

I still think guys wearing makeup is weird, I don’t couldn’t care less if they wear it, it’s their choice and who am I to stop them, and if it makes them feel better about themselves good on them. I just like expressing my opinions.

I think the entire concept of wearing makeup in general has many flaws and can create some serious problems for a lot of people. Example - my sister wears makeup nearly 24/7 she can’t live without it, and when she washes it off she always complains about how disgusting her skin is, the redness, uneven skin tone, oiliness, the works and it’s really sad when I see her like that. I’m sure there are a lot of chicks and even guys out there that also think this when all they need to do is start getting use to the skin they were given instead if plastering there face with, and if there not happy do something about it via the inside of your body instead of the outside, think about what kind of food your eating and your life style choices, like the old saying goes – you are what you eat, instead of covering it up with stuff that suffocates your skin and probably doesn’t do it any good in the long run. I know there are some of you that can’t go without makeup because you have rosacea or something similar but all I can say is try not to use it so much.

Some of you probably think I’m being a hypocrite seeing as I have acne and use stuff to help my skin via the outside of my body, but I’m speaking strictly in terms of wearing makeup not regimens to help get rid of acne. Or you may be thinking “what would he know, he doesn’t wear makeup”, I don’t have to wear it to have an opinion about it

But just have a think about it the kind of makeup used today has never even been used before and no one really knows for sure what the long term effects are. They could be good, they could be bad but why take the risk if you already have bad skin now, imagine what your skin will be like when you’re old. Your acne may be gone but imagine what all those years with makeup on your face everyday would have done.

If you disagree with me, or have a different opinion please reply to this. I would like to hear your side of the story.

well im 18, im not happy with the way i look, i do not get enough excersise, i have only a few close friends, i have minimal confidence, i barely have a social life, i dont get along with my parents very well, i have only had one girlfriend, im not sure if im bi or gay, i have really bad acne on my neck back and shoulders and mild acne on my face, im extremely insecure, im constantly looking at my face picking at it, i spend nearly all my spare time locked up in my room in my bed with my laptop or xbox only going out to get food, go toilet and shower, i need SERIOUS changes in my diet, i never can be bothered doing my regimen daily because i have this mindset that im always going to have acne so why bother getting rid of it, when im out in public im always thinking everyone is looking at my gross zits.

well yeah i have a very f***d up life, if thats even considered a life im not sucidial not by far.
I know i can change nearly everything in my life with just a few simple steps like eating healthy, joining the gym, doing my regimen evryday. But the thing is i just cant be bothered because im never motivated and i always feel like a sack of crap.

so pretty much what im asking for is some help, words of advice and that sorta thing

thanks

sam

meh
I have the biggest zit formation forming on my neck its 3 or maybe 4 bigs red ones under the skin and 2 smaller blackhead on the side, and i think that if i try touching it, it will get worse beacuse my little rule is if i touch it and it hurts i should probly leave it alone because i might be pushing the bacteria and puss deeper into my skin making it even bigger and more volcano like which is gross!

also i have a zit on the back of my ear at the top! wtf? i have never had one on my ear before. i think i know how i got it, i brought new headphones and ive been using them alot the past week and i think my ear being pushed so close to my hair and scalp has made it form from the bacteria being tranferred from my hair to the pore on my ear, duno just a theory but thats a weird place to get one isnt it?
