Is it possible to change your displayed name on the boards?

Hey,

I'm new here, and I was just wondering if there was an area on the board where people recommended certain dermatologists, naturopaths, nutritionists, or any other kind of professionals who had helped them deal with their acne.

Since I live in NYC, I was hoping I might find some recommendations on people to see.

Thanks in advance.

So I've decided to switch to a dairy-free (and mostly vegan) diet. I was hoping that these vegan dairy substitute products would make it easier for me to do so.

But I'm afraid that while they are healthier than the real thing, they will still cause me problems.

Things like the vegan cheese or cream cheese, or the soy milk or ice cream. I know the debate on soy goes back and forth but I was wondering if anyone can give me some of their own personal experiences.

How about coconut milk, or the ice cream and yogurt made from it? It seems like a better alternative to soy milk or ice cream.

So, I've tried a lot of different things, including accutane. I've also seen a lot of dermatalogists. My current one has had me on bactrim for a couple of years now, along with frequent shots into my acne.

Wanted to see if anyone else had any experience with it. It hasn't done much to help me, but my diet has been terrible. I'm currently waterfasting and am preparing to change my diet, though. Hoping I might see more results from the bactrim then.

Hey all,

I'm new here, and after a decade of doing anything and everything with little results, I've resigned myself to trying some "out there" methods.

I'm currently on the 18th day of a water fast at a fasting clinic in California, where people with all sorts of illnesses have come, many with fantastic results, including acne and psoriasis (which I also have, on my scalp). My acne, however, is quite severe (nodular/cystic). So far, I have not seen much in the way of results, but they told me it may take several months of fasting and then proper eating for that to happen.

The people here urge you to take on a Vegan diet after you fast, with the thought process being that the fast will help detoxify your system. I'm pretty positive that dairy is the problem for me, and for the first time in my life I am ready to cut it out of my life.

So, has anyone else had any experience with something like this?
