I have HUGE pores on my nose from years of acne/blackheads/etc. that left scarring. I've tried peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatment, and TCA cross with little to no difference in its appearance.

SO I bought sanding paper, just something you can buy at a hardware store, and used it on my nose. I figured since doctors use something similar for dermabrasion I would try it on my nose and see if it would help. Plus, if doctors can change the shape of the nose with plastic surgery, then stripping off the top layer shouldn't be that hard.

I made sure to sanitize the area and bled qiute a bit while doing it, although it hurt less than what I expected. Today I woke up with it inflamed, so I held ice to it, then slapped on a bandaid. I'm hoping I won't scar but I'm really sick of seeing those huge pores on my nose every time I look in the mirror, so I hope this works. I'm also taking vit. C and will use Copper peptides after my nose heals a bit more.

I'll let you guys know how things progress, if it worked. : )

eusa_think.gif From what I've heard, there are both positive and negative reviews of temp fillers like Restylane. I would be interested in these sort of fillers if they lead to long-term reduction in scars. From what I hear, the collagen can repair, heal, and the scar fill in as the filler is gradually absorbed by the body. Is this true? Does anyone have any personal experiences they'd be interested in sharing, both positive and negative?

Thank you!

confused.gif Hey, has anyone heard of Candela GentleYAG laser for the treatment of acne scars? I have hispanic heritage and have limited options for laser treatments, but I think this is gentle enough for my skin type. Is it better than Fraxel?

Hello all,

I tried needling a week ago because I heard such good reviews on this board for it in the treatment of pitted scarring. Now that the scabs have come off, however, some of the pitted scars seem wider in diameter than before. Is this normal? I wonder if I made the scars worse, or if the scar tissue sort of collapsed/spread. Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks!!!

Hello, I would like to get dry needling done in North Carolina or New Mexico. Does anyone know of a good doctor or specialist? I got the idea from perusing the boards here; apparently needling is the best way to help rolling scars...unfortunately, none of the dermatologists/specialists I've spoken to have even mentioned it. They all tried to push laser treatments.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. : )

Hello Starlite, it's unfortunate that you don't have a contact email. I just read your last post.. I am wondering if it worked, or if you've found any other solutions for the pores on your nose... I suffer from a severe case... my nose looks soo horrible, I can cry looking at it...
