All those years on antibiotics have caught up with me. I have been diagnosed with Gram negative folliculitis after derm did a culture from a pustule(yeah disgusting I know). He has prescribed an antibiotic that the gram negative bacteria is sensitive to. Anyone had much experience of gram negative and can it become resistant to the antibiotics like acne can. I realise that accutane is another route to take with this but my acne is not a big issue right now as I am microdosing on tane. Well annoyed about this as I have had my suspicions about this a couple of years back........anyway get my eusa_boohoo.gif out. This derm has been great so no reflection on him, i found one that listens, they are like hens teeth biggrin.gif Anyway anyones experiences of gram negative appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Anyone got any experience of microdosing on tane? Is there an initial breakout? Does the improvement take a long while the same as with a regular tane course? This is tane 3 so not first time tane user on 20mg a week.

Hi,

I have had acne for years (20+) and managed to be fairly clear over extended periods, been on tane twice and numerous antibiotics and topicals. Over the last couple of years I have been developing an area on the left hand side of my face where i shave which breaks out a lot with small spots coming to whiteheads. I am getting frustrated about this as it is the only area I have with any activity, right hand side and rest of face is completly clear. I have been cycling antibiotics mainly minocin, vibramycin and trimethoprim along with various topicals benzamycin, duac and differin. I am now at the stage where I can't keep this area clear for any length of time. It is starting to get me down and stop me doing things. I am considering a third course of accutane but as the area is so isolated I would rather find an alternative. I did ask my derm if it could be folliculitis but he doesn't seem to think so. Also it seems to come in cycles, bad for a couple of days then clears a bit then repeats the cycle. Any suggestions or anyone had similar problem?

Thanks

Anyone tried this? It's a mixture of clindamycin and 5% BP.

Anyone had any success with tetralysal 300? If so what topicals if any did you use in conjunction with it. Do you think Minocin is a better antibiotic in your opinion or are they both of equal effectiveness/limited. Thanks for anyone who takes the time to reply.
