Hey, i need to know what fruit and vegetables to buy that can be eaten as a raw snack or even cooked... easy to prepare etc.

I want vegetables that are healthy and rich in nutrients and that you think will give my skin a nice glow...
I have red marks and marks left over from acne and also a lil bit of active acne...

What do you recommend?

Carrots, celery, snow peas, green beans, corn (cook this because the resistant starch in it when uncooked is not good for digestion), capsicum, sweet potato (boiled), etc.

All fruit yummmmmmm smile.gif

Avocados, apples, papayas and pineapples (both contain digestive, anti inflammatory enzymes), broccoli / cauliflower (help the liver), fresh berries of all kinds (high in antioxidants), carrots, spinach, romaine lettuce, celery, garlic and onions, a whole plethora of herbs & spices (most are very good for you, i.e. ginger / peppermint helps digestion, rosemary / thyme contain antibacterial substances, cloves can kill parasite eggs, cinnamon can normalize blood sugar and cholestorol.. just examples) pretty much just every fruit and vegetable you like to eat.

The best tip I can offer is find some salad dressing recipes or some salad dressings in the store that you like, and make a lot of salads.

Also, find simmer sauces that you like and other things to dip your veggies in (hummus, guacamole, Curry Simmer sauce, Cuban Mojito Sauce, Bruschetta dip etc.) and make good use of those too. Makes eating veggies have a lot more variety, a lot tastier.

Kale is a BIG one (try not to eat it raw)
So yes, if I had to pick just 1 veggie it would have to be KALE hands down, it's great and good for the skin.

I think almost any vegetable/fruit is good with exception to potatoes.

I personally like mashed peas over mashed potatoes.

A quick tip for those who can't afford organic: if you're still concerned about pesticides, buy liquid chlorophyll and take a little bit before eating your non organic produce.

I guess Organic costs a little more, but Its not nearly as expensive as it use to be. Since Organic food is now in such popular demand, the prices have gone down a little. But it is definately worth it, I don't eat any fruit or veggies unless they are certified organic. My family calls me a freak for being so paraniod over food, but I don't care....I'm single so I can afford to spend money on it!

Nuts are definatedly the way to go! They're high in essential fatty acids which are wonderful for the skin. My personal faves are brazil nuts (divine!), hazelnuts, pepitas, sunflower seeds and also organic fruit n nut mixes.

I also second what someone said before about using wonderful dips like hommus to dip your chopped up veg in...super healthy, nutrient-dense and good for the skin.
