Had dry flakey skin on my face and my eyebrows, the sides of my nose and my forehead were hard and scaly and i would get yellow "bits" on my skin all the time. My dermaatologist told me about some stuff you can buy over the counter for £3 and it completely cleared up everything i had in 1 week. The cream is called Daktarin it's an anti fungal cream, thought i would mention it on here incase it might help someone. I was using the Daktarin along with Differin Gel but i have cut back on the Gel already as i found it made my skin redder and just stick to using the Dactarin. Was your skin red as well??? is your skin oily? So you found much success with it though? can it be irritating? Is your skin sensitive... sorry bout all the questions, just curious.

My skin was always been very Oily (I had severe acne for years, was on Accutane) and my skin has been red across my cheeks and nose and forehead for as long as i can remember.. The redness has gone down a bit but is still visible not that i expected it to go completely but because the general quality of my skin has improved so much it doesn't feel like it matters so much to me. I have had absolutely no irritation with the cream at all and all the flakeyness after coming out of the bath has gone completely now.. it's like a whole new world to me i feel like i can take a shower at a friends house and not worry about all the peeling skin after i get out of the shower anymore.. |

well let me know how it goes...
I find it so interesting why so many SD sufferers have used Accutane. I truly believe that accutane does desensitize the skin/damage, which causes the immune system/skin to become weaker and more susceptible to skin problems. i.e SD besides that, I have learned to just manually exfoliate, either it be with my finger nail or a tool...I get the skin off and keep with it and I don't flake...its tedious, but an option...

how is everyone doing ?.I have been on low dose accutane for a while now,10mg per day for 3 months and then 40 mg per week for 2 months after that and i plan to be on low dose for a pretty long period as it works amazing for me without any side effects, prob cause of the low dosel. My acne has subsided totally oil is 95% gone so everything is looking good.Along with that i was using protopic 0.1 % which for me worked like wonders, then i shifted to 0.03 % which also works great but ofc not as good as the stronger one.My sd/eczema is pretty much under control like this ,much better than what it was nearly a year back, but still the eczema deost completely go so i am on and off protopic as maintanence and everything is going good for me ,hope everyones doing good.
