I'm not sure what happened but I used the 8% hydroquinone 4% kojic 0.0025 % retinoic acid and 1% hydrocortisone prescription that my doctor gave me for about two months to have constant redness constant peeling constant burning which I already ranted about in my first post. Anyways for a week I have only been applying St. Ives Moisturizer to my face at night. All the dead skin seems to be peeling off the redness is fading my scars are very light pink and the shallow look to my skin has smoothed out amazingly. I have no idea what I should give credit to. Did the hydroquinone help do this or did my discontinuing with the usage of it do this? Whatever caused this I am really happy and I can tell now my face will be clear a few months from now so no dermabrasion necessary!

I am 32 year old woman and I have acne scarring EVERYWHERE...Fortunately my skin is pale so the scars are not that noticeable from a distance. But upclose I'm a mess... The scars have no pigment coloration anymore. Idealy I would like to have all the pigment "turned off" to have no real "color" on my face. I am going to an esthetician who works inside a dermatologist office tomorrow to get my first treatment of microdermabrasion. She will use 8% hydrquinen ( I know that was mispelled) Will this help lighten my helped pigmented skin? As well I want to know about laser resurfacing on acne scars...I do not have ice pick scars...these are just flat non pigmented skin...HELP please.
PS I had 2 blue peels in the past w/ very limited success.

When people refer to red marks do they mean blemishes or do they mean small craters that have a redish color tone to them? I am asking this because i heard that redmarks eventually go away while scars won't. I recently have noticed that my acne is disappearing almost completely. I have some small 1mm sized ice picks which don't bother me. But i have this 5 mm red mark that is in the middle of my forehead. I am currenly taking a vitamin supplement that has vitamin c & e and some other stuff plus i apply this vitamin c oil onto it twice a day. It is slightly grooved but i was wondering if it will go away. Are there other procedures or regiments i should try?

i'm looking for a doctor in illinios, or nearby that does the following:
Excision: deeper scars may be cut out using a scalpel and stitched together. This results in the formation of a linear scar, which in some cases may look better than the depressed scar.
Punch Grafting: with this procedure, small depressed scars are cut out using a small "punch", which resembles a small cookie cutter. A small piece of skin is then removed, using a "punch", from in front of or behind the ear and transplanted to where the scar was located. This new transplant skin is then secured in place using special tape strips or glue. The hole from where the skin was removed from in front of or behind-the ear is sutured using stitches. Often, several weeks later a dermabrasion or laser-peel is performed
i cannot find anyone who does this-if anyone knows of anyone please let me know.
thank you

I am 21 years old living in England, and have had acne since I was about 14-15.
This site is brilliant. Acne has made me suffer a lot of depression in the past. This site has made me feel a lot better, a beacon of hope if you wish. Congrats to Dan for making a superb site!
Now, my problem is that I have bad scarring to both sides of my face and a bad one from a cyst/spot I had a few years ago. Would this bad scar be treatable? (At least just make it less visable). Also, I am not very well off, and my parents won't help me (not out of unkindness though). My dermatologist also said that I have unusually stretchy skin so would that hinder my treatment? If anybody could give me any advice I would be grateful. Thanks.
Note: The most I can spend at the minute is roughly £1000 ($1,546)

Hey Guys, I have been looking at these posts for a few months now and have never really found a solution to my type of scarring. I am 20 and have had off and on mild/moderate acne for about 7 years. Fortunately I don't have any pitted scars but I have some small-medium brown spots along my cheek bones and a few on my shoulder blades that have been there ranging from 7 months-2 years (and I don't the 2 year old ones are going to get any better). They're not that bad inside but outside in sunlight they're definately very noticable. I have been using Mederma directly on the scars for 3 weeks now and it is just making me break out more. Since they aren't pitted and are just brown marks what should I use? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.[/i]

I notice there are sites that sell Retin-A 1%, and I think that is too strong for my skin. I don't have a lot of red stops..I just want to try something that works. Lastly, this stuff is expensive....

Hey everyone. I'm Steve, and i'm 17 years old. Got a little question here. Up until last summer i had pretty bad acne, i went to a dermatologist, and he prescribed me Accutane. Needless to say, it worked great. Not a one on me anymore, but heres my question:
There seems to be some redness in some areas where the acne was more serious. No pits or anything, just redness. However, when i first wake up in the morning and look in the mirror, you can barely see anything at all. It seems to show itself more during the day, rather then in the morning or at night. I dont know why, it just does. I was just wondering if this redness is going to fade on its own, or do i need some kind of special treatment. If it will fade on its own, is there anything I can do to help the process along or anything? (like diet or such i guess) The redness isnt extremely serious, like bloodshot red or anything...but its there. More of an annoyance then anything.
Thanks in the advance for the help

Can anyone recommend a good surgeon/dermatologies who can administer Punch Excision's in London.
Also has anyone used Dr Lowe for lazer surgery? and if so would they recommend him? Thank you.

I have never had much pimples throughout my life. However not knowingly, I began to have it 4-5 months ago. Now I have tried many ways to get rid of my pimples, it has been a total success, although new pimples still grow out every now and then but usuallly goes away with a week or so. However, some of the pimples that have grown in the past and been gone has left a reddish colored mark on my face. I have quite a bit on my face, how do I know whether that is a scar or just a reddish mark that will fade away in the future. I've been using Neutrogena, Multi-Vitamin Facial Treatment for the past 2 weeks or so and it says that it helps reduce blemishes. But i have not really seen the effect. How do i make the red spots go away or know what it really is?

Hey guys, I too found this site looking for some method to get rid of these horrible acne scars and I'm wondering if there are any other methods besides surgery that are effective in getting rid of scars? I think all of us have stumbled upon Elicina, which tends to be at the top of the google search engine but I get a bad vibe while reading the site and it's 40 dollars to try. Is this stuff bogus? Does anything truly work? I've had my scars for a few years now so I know they're not going to naturally heal. Thanks for any info.

OK, I have been using the regimen strictly for over 3 months and I don't break out at all almost which is totally awesome but...
The scars that I had from the period of right before using the regimen full-time and while I was on it DO NOT FADE!!! They stay red forever and leave indent marks that just seem to not heal at all. I mean its been months now and healing of the scars are minimal. It must be the BP that has a effect on skins healing. WHAT DO I DO??!!?? If I stopped the regimen they will heal up in a couple months but that is not an option cause I will breakout and I havent had a serious zit in like 3 weeks which is a long time for me cause I have never been clear.
I have been using syprex scar cream/sheet combo and it does help a little but the tube is almost gone and its 80 bucks and the results are minimal if anything at all.
Can someone pls help me? or shall I wait another couple months? I am on the verge of seeing a doctors office cause I mean what kinda scars don't heal? they stay red a pink and indented forever it seems... If some of the major scars were gone my face would be "normal" something that I have never had before in my life and its very frustrating.
Any suggestions?
