I recently came across this website in trying to find a home kit for chemical peels (I'm still skeptical of them) in order to sort out my face from marks/scars from acne, the site's testimonials sound convincing, what do you think?

Im 18 and I have light to moderate acne, however my acne leaves these messed up pinhole scars.*mostly on my forehead* Could these just be enlarged pores or are they full fledged scars. What can I do for them. Im on Differin Gel at night Clindagel in the morning and Plexion SCT mask twice a week. Also I have many line scars on my cheeks are these stretch marks or what?
Help I just want to know what kind of scars (if any ) I have and what to do about them when my acne goes away, it will make me feel more secure about myself

where can I get copper peptide in the UK? Also, are they like an active ingredient within a cream or gel or are they just copper peptides in itself? One other question: I want to use them to reduce/ reduce the appearance of my marks/ scars, so do they complient another product like chemical peels or something?
Thanx in advance

Okay all, I am learning about these glycolic peels and copper peptides. Before I go and blow money on something that doesn't work, I'm trying to figure out which, if either might work better. I have small indentation type scars which actually became more noticeable after laser but some parts of my face actually did improve. I also did a home chemical peel a million years ago with some very potent stuff called global esthetics I think. I ended up getting large pores in just one area from that. Before I had the procedure I did not have noticeable pores. Go figure. I have had a dermabrasion,(helped somewhat) and laser resurfacing which might have helped if it weren't so strong I'm thinking. So wondering if I might be a good candidate for the peptides and/or the glycolic stuff for my scars and/or the pore thing. I'm so scared to try anything again, you know? I'm reading both good and bad about both, so please give me your feedback. I am so ready to try something else again but want to make a wise decision. (LAET)

Just a heads up note on the skin needling and pins everyone. I want to make sure before anyone does this they have a stainless steel needle and not just any pin. I personally know of someone who DID NOT use stainless steel and ended up with blood poisoning. The doctor told him it was from using a pin that was not stainless steel. He is lucky to be alive and his skin is terribly damaged. Please keep it sterile and safe :!:

Hi all,
I just wanted to tell you about the strongest Copper Peptide lotion I have found on the net, Its called Protect and Restore TriReduction and has 3 times the amount of copper than P&R's other cream's which are much stronger than other CP lotion/cream's anyway.
I brought the Basic P&R cream before I found out about the TriReduction. Just letting you know so you don't make the same mistake.
Here's the web site,

Hey guys, I was just wondering about Glycolic peels. I've heard some negative things about them, like they can burn your skin and create more severe scars, but I've also heard very good things about them. So if anyone out there who has tried them can give me their opinion I'd love it. I have very fair skin that scars easily and the thought of risking it.........uh you know what I mean. Also, I was wondering if anything like this can be can be used in other places besides the face, like neck or shoulders. Thanks a lot. [/i]

You mentioned that you like copper peptide products. What benefits do you see from using them? Do you experience any irritation while applying them? It sounds interesting, but so do a lot of other things at first. Thanks.

I'm going to see my dermatologist in 2 weeks. I plan on asking her what treatments i could use to remove my scars. I was thinking that laser treatment seems to be the best out so far from what i've heard. Do they charge per treatment or how much area they have treat on my face? Most of my scars are shallow so i hope after one treatment my scars will be gone.

hi guys
gus, u said before u are from Ireland as am I!!!!!
i got my laser resurfacing done by ACS last June and they said that if they missed some scars they would do them again in a couple of months for free, (the ones that were done although improved slightly are still there) i was just woundering where u got ur laser done (if u dont mind me asking) u said that they done the same areas twice with u just paying for the initial treatment.
i am using syprex now for nearly 2 months i think and although my skin looks better in the morning once i wash it the scars are as bad as ever, so i am now also thinking of copper peptides or snail slime (cant think of its proper name except that it starts with E) i was woundering which ye guys think is the best as money is v low.
BBQ i know exactly how u feel. i just finished college in may and although i would love to go out earn money and pay of my student loans all i can think of is the horrible scars on my face. i cant believe i have to go through another Christmas looking like this. my gradation was on recently and i was the only one in my class not to attend.
When will all this shit end and when can we start living?????
i am so glad that i found this site ye guys are the only peole that understand the tramatic effect that acne and scars have on people.
talk soon
molly
PS Happy Halloween (I am scary looking without a mask!!! )

Hey guys, i hope you are all moving well on the road of improvement. I for one am looking for what i should do for my own scars. I already made an appointment with my derm but i'd to get some of your ideas. I remember i had to ask a derm to put me on tetracyclin when i had acne after two failed treatments (the tetracyclin was the only thing that helped). Anyways, I ordered 30% glycolic acid peels over the net and im not sure if i want to do them after what i've been hearing. I'm caucasian with a european background. My skin is kind of tan. The last thing i want is to get is discoloration. I still have some acne. Though not as much as i use to and i started to take tetracyclin again. Last year i was in college, away from home so i couldn't go to the pharmacy and get tetracyclin. I started to get breakouts, the worst i ever had. I asked my mom to send me tetracyclin but she has something against medications for some odd reason so she didn't send them. I had to beg her and she finally sent them but if i had them before, the scars that i'm worrying about now wouldn't even exists. That makes me angry, not only at myself but at my mom and why? For acne? It's pathetic but its the truth. Now its a year later, my acne seems to be going the way of the Dodo. But there are still some red/brown marks. Nothing i can call an official scar because they're still red but im pretty sure some will be because they're not leveled with my other skin. I hate being so possesed about my skin but its my life. When my skin is clear (in the summer) my morale and psyche are high in the sky. When i have breakouts (fall, winter, spring) i get depressed easily which leads to less motivation, which ruins my significantly. I look back in my life and have seen that i missed a lot of good fullfilling oppotunities. My parents can't relate nor my siblings. I was cursed with acne and i refuse to live with its repercussions. I keep telling myself that my red marks will go away like i said about my acne. I mean with all the advances of modern science and technology theres gotta be something out there. I hate to poor out my inner feelings but it somehow helps to let some steam out.
Should i try something else other than these %30 glycolic acid peels?

Skin Biology replied to me about theCP serum/Exfol - but they also gave me the names of two other sites which offer between 40 - 70% Hydroxy Acid, which they said would be better for deep acne scarring.
The sites are: www.homepeels.com and www.makeupartistschoice.com
I've checked them both out, and I think Makeup artists has the 70% one.
You go to the site, click on 'Products' - and there's a table of acne-related treatements, click on 'Non-Glycolic acid - deeper peeling.
And you get the Home-chemical peeling kit. Now this is serious stuff - guaranteed down-time beteween 8-12 days. It ranges from 1-4 days peeling. Its their most severe peeling system - it doesn't say what percentage Hydroxy Acid it has - but its main ingredient is that - so I'd say its the 70% skin Biology were on about.
I'm after emailing them about some questions I have about it - I'll post here if you guys are interested.
Oh yeah - it costs $200 for a 4-day peel! - but hey, if it works who cares...
If it sounds o.k I may get it done over the Christmas Holidays.

Hi, this is my first time on here because this is the first time I have had really bad skin. Anyways I broke out pretty bad December 2001 and the breakouts only lasted a few weeks and they quickly disappeared but I was left with major scars on my cheekbones. I have had the scars for eight to nine months now. I have had two or three scars before but nothing major and they would always fade within twelve-fourteen months. I have pitted scars I have had these before too just not as much. I would only get two or three pitted scars on my left cheek and they would disappear even though it would as I said take twelve to thirteen months. This time I have too many scars to count. I am praying this will clear up as I did not and have not ever had severe acne. Makeup does not cover up pitted scars at all it just covers up the redness. I use that Dermablend foundation. My doctor put me on a harsh prescription which makes my cheeks really red. It's 8% hydroquinone 4% kojic 0.025% retinoic acid and 1% hydrocortisone. I just wanted to know if anyone has had good results with any of these harsh chemicals because this mixed medication my doctor gave me is very irritating. My skin is peeling like crazy and it burns frequently. My doctor also pointed out that it will take four to six months before I notice results. I also use Neutrogena Deep Clean Cleanser, Biore toner with tea tree oil, and I have been experimenting with Proactiv. Some feedback would be appreciated. Oh yeah and can someone tell me if theres any side effects to microdermabrasion because if I still look like this in six months I am getting it done because I am so tired of crying over this. I definitely miss my old clear skin. This new face I really can't stand.

Hi Gus...
Been following your messages regarding laser resurfacing.. Have a few more questions to asked you... do you still use Dan's regime after your procedure... I know I read in your posts, I think, that you said you had to put vaseline on your skin afterwards... does this make you nervous that it will make you break out more...?? My daughter had a couple glycolic acid peels that didn't do much..but afterwards they had her use something like vaseline..and she ended up breaking out from it .. "bummer".... anyway.. just wondered if you were able to use the bp afterwards to keep clear??

After trying all my options I finally went on accutane. Which is in my opinion the nastiest drug, but did give relief from my severe acne. I still tend to breakout, just not as severe. I did end up with moderate scarring though. Which as anyone who has scarring knows that it is a constant reminder .... I personally have been using a product called Dermanew, which is a home dermabrasion kit. I have found that it has smoothed my skin out, and is helping with my current breakouts a great deal. I personally think that it is a wonderful product. I am also using a product called Murad and believe that between the two it has helped above anything else I have tried. I do know a few others who have used both and have recieved wonderful results also. The true test was when other people could see the difference. I hope that my personal experiences with these products help others. [/b]

I've got some bad scarring, mostly on my cheeks. I've got pretty much all of the scars. I'm doing the saline injections, have done 2 now, and I do see results, my scars are slowly becoming more lever with the rest of my skin. My scars would be much less noticable if they weren't so discolored, reddish-brown. Is there any treatments that would help make my scars less discolored??

Hello everyone! I've been sitting on the side for a couple of weeks now and decided to go ahead and sign up so I can join in. I have my first appointment next week to check my options for my cyctic acne scars. Mine are few and bad. Deep and one the size of a dime. I've had them for about 10 years. (I'm in my thirties now) I've tried Microdermabrasion 3 times, retin-a, and dermabrasion scrub clothes from a well known auction sight. None worked. The idea of having my face peeled or scrubed with a wire brush horrifies me :!: I'm looking into collagen and face lighten. Anyways, want to thank all of you who put your daily post in. I've learned quite a bit about my options on here and what not to do.

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting anything on this site. However, i have visited this site on a daily basis. I enjoy reading everyone's mesgers. It has helped me come to terms with my own battle with acne. I just wanted to bring attention to everyone about a new product that has been out. I, myself have not used it before...jsut wanted to let the word out about this product. The product is called Nu Skin Clear Action, which is supposed to fight and heal acne. If you would like more information please visit their site at www.nuskin.com and click the correct country you are living in. This product is a bit expensive. I know if you signed up you may get a 20% discount of the retail price.
Have a great week and Happy Halloween!

I really missed this site, especially Gus, Sita Atis, lexfx, and everybody else, and I have to say, these new boards are looking REALLY GOOD.
Ok, I didn't really miss the acne talk per se, but I missed the true comaraderie we have here. I actually went to healthboards.com for a few days and was kicked off due to their fascist policy of not even "alluding" to any other web sites. I didn't mention acne.org, I just said that I had posted on another acne site. Next thing I know...POOF!.....I have my account eliminated without warning. Give me a break!! I then e-mailed the moderator saying that even though I agreed to the terms of posting on healthboards, it still couldn't stop my overall displeasure at these ridiculous ideas that mentioning any web site is free advertising? Uh, I think we can decide that on our own accord, thank you very much. If I mention "CNN.com", I am some ultra-conservative, militia-forming weirdo in my own basement nut case who is promoting CNN??? Come On...I was then told to please not waste the moderators' time since it is SUCH a chore to edit posts......I replied that if the moderators did not want to moderate, then a career change ought to be pursued. Apparently, that didn't go over too well since I was told never to return to healthboards.....
Anyway, great to be back, loving this new format!
