Hi, I'm not sure where to post this but I'm stuck with this question for some time now.
Accutane cured my acne however it left some scars on my face.
These scars are pretty noticable so my dermatologist decided to start laser treatment somewhere in november/december.

However, I still want to go out with friends while looking good till the treatment starts.
I was thinking of using Fake Bake as a selftanner when I go out however my dermatologist doesn't know anything about selftanners and the effects of them on acne(scars).

My question is can I use Fake Bake safely without having to worry about the lasertreatment that is to come? Since you need pale skin for the treatment I'm concerned about using the product.
Can you guys help me out please?

Yes, you can use a tanner before and while on a (fractional) laser treatment. I applied self tanner before the treatment to hide the redness after. It worked fine for me.

Thinking it through though I ran into another problem, I'm to use Epiduo Gel until the day of the treatment. I'm wondering if applying a fake tan while on Epiduo Gel is a bad idea?

Also, you talking about redness made me ponder. After I finished taking Accutane the zits that used to be on my face/chest left red spots who are still there until this very day. How do I get rid of the redness on those spots?

EDIT: I was also wondering how your laser treatment went. Did they get rid of all your scars?
And should I prepare myself before letting them laser me, to prevent further scarring or something?

Here are some natural ways to cure your redness,scars .Sandalwood powder works great for these scars, redmarks and brown spots.To improve the redness of your skin, you can use some great methods like: 1. apply oat flakes, lime juice, and peels of fruits
2. Use Acne Control cleanser before going to bed at night.
3. Use Acne Control Mask to remove dead cells from your face.

Kees, I don' t know about Epiduo Gel. Sorry.
Fraxel should definitely help with red spots, it kind of "evens" out skin color imperfections (Fraxel is being used a lot to treat melasma for example).
I don't think you need any special preparation before a fractional laser treatment if you have light skin; with darker skin types you need to be much more careful.
Overall I would say Fraxel Restore improved my scarring but less than I've expected:a couple of very small scars disappeared almost completely, deeper scars improved by 20% or so.

I'm also confused about Ablative and Non-Ablative, I google'd for the terms and I read on some websites that Ablative would have far better results. I'm wondering why my derma would have me undergo Non-Ablative if that's the case...
