Ok, I'm not really starving. But, I'm a slim guy and have been looking at these boards for a bit now. Decided to cut out a lot of stuff from diet for a while. Such as: dairy, gluten, grains, caffeine, pop, etc. Followed the alkaline/acidic diet. Didn't see too big of a difference. A few days ago I just started supplementing with omega 3's and my red marks are the only thing that has faded so far.

Like I said, I'm slim. My metabolism is psychotic and is only worse since I am very active. Eating grass and such just didn't seem to satiate my hunger much and I've been walking around all hungry all the time. I've stuck to diets religiously, as well. It may all have been for nought, I now see. I used to get on here, read lots of ppl break out from oranges and I thought that maybe I had too, so I cut that out. Found other foods and other foods, cutting more and more. Now, I'm just saying screw this shit. I just had a bowl of cookie crisp with a big ass smile on my face. Eating like a robot got me nowhere.

I have a derm appointment coming up... I have video logs of when my acne was much, much worse. I'm going to tell him all the crap I've tried. I've never been on accutane and I don't like the side effects. Especially the fact I could break out like psycho again, which is probably the ONLY thing I'm not willing to do to get rid of acne. I'm a part time worker, full time student and college is starting back up in mid-August. So no insurance. Accutane would cost a lot, I hear. Any ideas???

It's long, but I really don't care. Sometimes you just need to type it all out.

I only weight like 160 and I my metabolism is psychotic, so I need to be careful and make sure I get enough fats, etc. so bad things don't happen. gasp.gif That's where I need help! I'm eliminating glutens, majorly and adding more veggies and fruits to my diet.

This is basically just a rough idea of what my days will be like:

- breakfast: vegetable drink. Carrots, spinach, apple or banana, water. blend. chug.
scrabled eggs. broccoli with eggs, if still not full.

- lunch: a salad, but a weird kind lol. lettuce, cherry tomatoes and a whole bunch of baked chicken.

- dinner: chili. just the typical, red beans, tomato puree, meat. Minimal use of crackers.

- snacks: random veggies or fruits.

- drink: only water. i just drink tap. It doesn't bother me at all, i've been doing it for a while now.

Help please?

Thanks and God Bless!!

Basically, I really want to start working out again, but it SEEMED when I got back on a workout schedule, I started to break out worse, so it is making me uncertain.

Here's the two things I'm weighing with working out/acne.

Pro: Relieves stress majorly.

Con: Can release more hormones into the body, possibly increasing acne.

I would just really appreciate some advice from you guys about what to do. Some people say their acne starts to relieve when working out, some say it gets worse. eusa_wall.gif

Basically, I am writing this to start you off with things I have tried. I spent loads and loads of time researching what does and doesn't work, so the idea is to save you the time and get you right in the game. ALL of these things will take patience. Patience is a must with acne. However, some of these have made certain individuals heal up very quickly. It all depends on your skin.

Things to try, starting off with natural solutions and working our way up to face washes. I think natural is great because of price, convenience and not becoming dependent upon it as much as you would a face wash or pill. These would all be best if you are using JUST these things to do a trial and error test on your face to know for certain what is effecting it. These are IN ORDER.

- Drinking only water and LOTS of it. Be careful with too much, but you would have to drink a load for it to be dangerous. I personally know this as I drank too much water when I was in high school.

- Control sugar intake. (Be smart about it)

- Take Zinc and Omega 3 vitamins along with your daily vitamins. Do NOT take zinc on an empty stomach. Seriously.

- They can say food doesn't effect you all they want, but I see the difference when I eat greasy foods. Take that into consideration, as well.

- Dabbing lemon juice to red marks and acne. http://www.acne.org/lemon-juice-applied-to...s/73/page6.html

- Adding lemon juice to water. http://www.acne.org/lemon-juice-as-a-drink...s/76/page1.html

- Apple Cider Vinegar taken ORALLY. http://www.acne.org/apple-cider-vinegar-as.../455/page1.html

- Apple Cider Vinegar APPLIED to the skin- http://www.acne.org/vinegar-as-a-topical-r.../30/page25.html

- Look into face washes. I would start with Dan's.

- Ask your dermatalogist about Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole). Ok, this can be your blessing and your curse. This is the only reason I ever had a psychotic breakout, because it helps your skin when you are on it, but for some, if you immediately get off of it, then about a month or two later your skin freaks out. The solution is to be slowly weened off of it. That's where my dermatalogist earned the title "jackass" for not telling me. http://www.acne.org/bactrim-septra-trimeth...268/page21.html

- Accutane. Just do your research on it, obviously has many, many side effects. http://www.acne.org/accutane.html

You can eliminate the sugary foods, the caffeine and drink more water all together if you want. Try that for two weeks to a month (yes, I know, it takes a while). Then, do the same with lemon juice.

Many of these things I listed have worked for many people. No, they may not work for you, or hell, they may be your life saver. Trial and error. I realize there are many other things out there, some which I didn't list that helped people. I am only referencing things that I personally have experience with (all but accutane) or have known many people to use (accutane).

Good luck and God Bless

I was on a vigorous excercise routine before winter hit. It was the kind that would drain you me so physically and mentally, that I was surprised it actually didn't hurt the skin. Winter hit, hibernation time smile.gif.

Now that it is warm again, I tried starting up the excercise routine again, but (it could be a cooincedence or no) everytime I do, it seems I have skin fluctuations. They say stress can lead to acne, so working out reduces stress and therefore possibly reduces acne. I understand why working out could either make you break out or help, due to hormones, etc. But, what I would like to know is if anyone else has had experience with acne when they work out.

And I mean acne on the face.
