Hey guys. I'm 23 years old and I've been struggling with acne for years. About 8-9 years to be exact. I've been to the dermatologists, tried MANY treatments (tea tree oil, green tea, vitamins, honey, lemon juice, face masks, scrubs, etc.) and I eventually found out (usually the hard way after some of these treatments made my acne worse) that I have acne prone skin that is not only sensitive, but oily as well. My current regimen is Cetaphil face wash twice a day followed by light scrubbing with salicyclic acid face pads, using Jergens Ultra Healing lotion (it's not very oily so I can use it), and using 10% BP cream. I've been using BP cream for a looonnnggg time, and it just seems to dry me out and not really get rid of the acne at a decent rate.
Admittedly I have to work on my sleeping and eating habits, but I have been working with that as of late by drinking more water, taking more vitamins, going to bed early, and so on. I just really want to know an EFFECTIVE regimen for my oily and sensitive skin that won't make my skin even more oily, irritated, and broken out. If anyone could recommend any good foods, creams, washes, and so on, that'd be great because I'm sooooo sick of struggling with acne right about now.

I recently read that green tea and pomegranate juice are rich in anti-oxidants and help to flush free radicals out of your body that can cause acne. I recently went to the store and got decaf-green tea (I usually drink green tea with jasmine and orange flavor in it, but I figured I'd get straight green tea since I'm considering using it topically on a regular basis and don't want anything else diluting it), and sugar-free pomegranate juice (since it seems like sugar causes my skin to get a lot more oily, and I don't want to run the risk of drinking a sugary drink too often OR putting it directly on my skin).
My question is, would my skin see any benefit by drinking these two drinks AND rubbing them on my skin as well? I've been drinking them fairly often, but I haven't been using them directly on my skin as much. Would it make any difference to do both, or am I better off just drinking them?

Hello. About 3 weeks ago I had an Erbium laser treatment done on some hypertrophic (raised) scars on my left cheek, and so far it's looking great. There is still some pink skin left that has to heal, but my doctor assured me that within 2 months or so that will be all gone, and that he has never seen it NOT go away.
But my question to you guys is...is there a chance that the scars could come back? Like..in a year or so from now? I asked my doctor, and to me he sort of danced around the question by giving the typical "we can't completely get rid of the scars, only make them look better" response. But I have looked it up online, and have only seen one site that says there is a possible risk that MAYBE worsening of the scars or recurrence may occur, but so far my scars look to be healing fine. Can't really picture them coming back. Oh, and I also have medium brown skin if that makes any difference (I doubt it), but they told me the main concern would be hyperpigmentation and gave me some bleaching cream for it which is doing a great job so far. But if anyone here can offer what they think about the scars coming back, I'd appreciate it.

Hey guys. I am a black male with a medium (caramel) complexion, and I have old raised acne scars and some discoloration around them. I went to a derm today and he said that an Erbium laser treatment could be done to help the scars as well as the discoloration. He said there is minimal risk of hyperpigmentation, but that I could immediately start on bleaching creams if I noticed any hyperpigmentation.
My question to you guys is...SHOULD I DO THIS? This treatment will cost $788 and I will only have to do it once, but I don't want to blow that much money for something that won't work or will potentially worsen the scars. Any advice/people with darker skin who are experienced on this?

Will it? I was considering buying some if it does.
