I'm so scared I'll get burn.. All these topical medications really make my face sensitive to the sun.. I want to have a great time without having to worry about my face. Is using sunscreen enough to protect my face? What is the spf you recommend? thanks!

I'm so fed up with all the topical medications i tried. It worked to some degree but I still have acne. Some day i had it worse than the other. I'm tired of looking in the mirror and crying. I know accutane works for so many people but I'm also scared of the side effects. My derm wants me to try birth control pill but I heard that you have to take it like forever to keep acne under control. Do you think it's a good idea to take accutane for mild acne?? Can anyone tell me the dose of accutane? Thanks!

I've been applying Isotrex for almost 3 months. It didn't help much. Now i noticed my hair has started falling. I'm really scared. First it's acne now hair fall. I'm turning ugly everyday :'( I thought accutane would cause hair fall not Isotrex. It's far less powerful. And my lips are always dry.. sad.gif(( So my question is " Could my hair fall due to Isotrex?"

Ok, so i'm 17.. i start getting this mild but persistent acne.. For a year.. It started out quite bad but now it's better.. NO cysts or anything.. but these little red spots over my cheek and my forehead stay there for forever.. I have tried using all the topicals. First, it seemed like it was working and i got my hopes up.. Now my face breaks out again. I'm tired to wake up to see new pimples everyday. This has been going on for a while. I keep telling myself i'll be okay but now i can't anymore.. I don't know what else to try.. I've been on Isotrex for 11 weeks.. Definitely saw some improvement but not that much. I want to try accutane but everytime i read up the side effects i hesitated. I don't even know if my derm would prescribe me accutane or not because my acne is somewhat mild. I find myself wanting to cry when i look at the mirror.. but i try to hold back my tears because i don't want it to wash away all the medication i just applied on my face.

My derm said he would prescribe me bcp if i didn't improve but i don't want to take it.. I don't know what to do.. Accutane or BCP.. I'm afraid of IB.. I just started college.. Everything was supposed to go well but it didnt cry.gif I'm just seeking advice here on what to do.. what should i try?? Please help me..

Well, I started getting acne like 6 months ago and I have been going to the same dermatologist for several times. I'm 17 now.. Actually, i have kinda mild acne but it just never went away and it stays on my cheek. Tomorrow i'm going to the dermatologist and I don't know what to ask him. Here are all the things I've used:

Benzoyl peroxide ( worked amzingly well but stopped working)
Clindamycin
Stieva A
Isotrex and Skinoren (what i'm currently using now)

In face, I've seen little improvement on Isotrex. I don't want to get my hopes up again though because when it starts to look better it then becomes bad again. I'm on my 6th week.. For skinoren, i've used it for a few months already..

I'm going to see my derm tomorrow. I'm not sure what i want to ask him.. I also kinda feel embarrassed for having to go so many times for acne. I don't know.. Maybe i'll ask him if i could take zinc.. What else? I hate it when everytime i see my derm i just don't know what to say and i feel awkward.,
