so at last i no longer get acne but then seb dermatitis hits me right in the cheeks ><
i am currently using the tape method to get rid of the flakey skin. im also using 1% hydrocortisone.
reading the side-effects of hydrocortisone is already quite scary, will prolong use of it make my skin worst? i try to use it only when i need to.
whats worst is that when i wash my face it tends to make my cheeks flare up so i usually just splash water on my face as to using a cleanser.

Hey guys i am new to the forum, read posts. etc.. now i got some questions.
Well you see the problem with me is that my acne isnt bad, its just the red marks that are left over. Everywhere on my cheeks, forhead and some on my chin. i have had acne for a while now, 4 years. I use OXY but it doesn't seem to do the trick. I used to have not that bad of acne but since they dissapear these red marks make the acne look way worse that it is, and i dont know what to do to get rid of them or make them fade..
So today my friend came up to me and told me about this cream called Betaderm, sapposubly its sapost to reduce the redness, scars. if you have used this or know about it could you tell me, that would be very appreciable.

I've previously had acne for some time, then went on roaccutane for 4.5 months and my face was all clear. Now I've developed this redness which is a pretty much continuous trail from under my bottom lip up to the right side of my nose. It's dry and very slightly lumpy.
The pics attached to this post are low quality but show the redness quite well. These were taken after I finished rubbing my face so it's slightly redder than it is normally but it highlights the problem quite well!
The ones at imageshack are bigger, more clearer pictures.
So, do you think it is or not? And if it is, what can I do about it?
I'm 22, if it makes any difference.

I've never really had to look in this forum before, I used to just have acne, no facial redness. Now I have both. Lucky me.
I first noticed the redness a few weeks ago, it started as these weird facial flushing moments, my face would get bright red and I'd get all stressed out. Then the more I worry about getting red the redder I got. Viscous cycle.
That was a few weeks ago. Now its worse. I'm still getting the facial flushing, now actually more often, but also my face is red constantly too. Most of the time it isnt bright red, just red, but it gets red after I start flushing and getting hot and bothered. And pretty much everything triggers these bouts of flushing. Im not sure if I can take this to be honest.
So what is this? Is it Rosacea? The redness is mainly across my cheeks and nose, also in the folds that run from nose to mouth. That's a constant redness. When I flush my whole face goes red. I'm taking tetralysal 300 (lymecycline), which Ive been taking for about 8 months. I used to be taking Isotrex gel too but that irritated my skin so I stopped. Now all I use is the antibiotics and a supposedly gentle face wash, though it still makes my face feel tight and uncomfortable. I have very sensitive skin.
Does anyone have any ideas that could help me?
My GP, who I've seen quite a few times thinks its anxiety related. It might be I guess, it could explain the facial flushing but that doesn't explain the constant redness. Round where I live is terrible for dermatologists. I was supposed to be seeing one in may, I was hoping for accuatne, but that got cancelled and they havent made another appointment for me yet. Its a joke.
So this is the only place really I can get help. Please tell me somebody can help me. I was struggling badly enough with just acne. With both... I honestly dont think I can take it. I already have no life because of acne, but at least I had a vague hope of a life in the future post accutane. This redness is just taking my hope away. Im 25, Ive had enough.

Hello all,
I have had cycstic acne since i was 16 that has develped into keloid scars on my shoulders and my chest. i am now almost 20 years old. My dermatologist says i have rosacea and has put me on doxycycline for 3 months in the beginning of the year. Although i was upset about my facial "acne", i wanted my cycsts on my shoulders to stop and i wanted to treat my keloids. Wheni kept complaining to him he said that i get keloids and cycstic acne because i drink "protein shakes"and when i tried to explain what i drink he said all supplements are bad. He refused to give me costeroid injections because he said my insurance company may not reimburse him. this guy has made my life a living hell. So i went to a new derm and she put me on accutane and ive been on it for almost 2 months. My keloids are flattening out and my acne is going away. But now i am concerned about rosacea if i have it. i do not have the common traits of someone with rosacea thats why i am skeptical. I am a male, of south asian decent and i am 19. i do get acne on my face that is not normal acne, sometimes they will be there for weeks at a time so maybe i do have rosacea but my new dermatologist isnt sure. She is also saying that once the accutane is complete my rosacea symptoms will not reappear or they will be much less?? any information will be greatly appreciated

Hi, I am new to this rosacea thing. I am 30 and a year or two ago, after have all those years with flawlwss skin I started to develop red patches on cheeks and chin. Then it got really itchy and flakey. Then this last year I wake up in the morning to find 2 or 3 new spots with small whitehead. The are only small but very annoying as they are covering my cheeks and chin. Some on forehead but not many.
Now ordinarily I would put it out of my mind but literally once a weeks some will comment on my skin and say I must have an allergy or something. They can't believe it as the said I had the best skin out of anyone they know. I am caucasian, Irish decent, live in hot country, getting into my 30's. I asked a doctor and a few chemists and they all gave me different aswers. Doctor said probably rosacea and gave me Rozex (Metronidazole). I didn't do anything. That was about 6months ago. Chemists offered me nti histamines but I refuse as it is only on my face and I don't want to take them.
I then started using benzyl peroxide, reluctantly as I don't have the usual acne and my skin in pretty dry and flakey already. It helped only slighty. I then thought I must treat the cause and some nutritionists told me it was probably what I am eating or lacking in vitamins. But I bought a list of about 20products and spent all this money and tried them in weeklyormonthly cycles and none of it helped. I thought maybe it was bacteria from something I eat. But my diet is very, very good. I'm not overweught and I don't eat junk. I eat hardly any sugar or fried food.
so........please...what do I need to do? I've decided to diagnose myself with Rosacea after reading about it and my characteristics (i.e. my age, Irish anglo genes and all that). I beleive I know myslef a bit better than doctors so I want to try the most effective creamsor vitamins (although I have taken so many different vitamins, garlic, acidopholus etc..).
I am mainly thinking of trying creams. Azelaic Acid and/or Retin A. Although it has been suggested on this forum to use ZZ and/or acarid soap.
If one more friends taells me that I have an infection or allergy on my face and it is really weird asI have always had perfect skinI think I'm going to scream.
Any advice?

Hi, i'm new to the board so hi to everyone. Here's my issue, until recently i was using a lot of poor anti-spot treatment that was drying my skin. I've stopped now, but i have an area of what i suppose is flaky skin to the left of my mouth. If i mousturise this area it's a reasonably harsh red colour. It's been there for a few weeks now. Could someone just advise me what the best course of action would be? Right now i'm just going to leave it alone altogether as it keeps returning to flakeyness at night.
Thanks

Sorry if this is in the wrong section too

Hi everybody I am new here! So I'd first like to say hello. I have just some general questions about facial redness. I recently finished my treatment of Accutane, but what I'm left with are some scars and facial redness. I had a laser consultation to see what could be done to improve this, but the price is just out of reach right now. I'm wondering if there are any other options such as oral or topicals? Has anyone had positive experiences with such treatments? Thanks for any help. Feel free to pm me or reply here. Thanks again.

Ok, so I went to my doctor today, convinced I have rosacea. The problem was I went pretty much straight after waking up, when my skin isn't that red. He said no, not rosacea, basically get out of here you time wasting idiot, your skin is fine.
It's a few hours later now and I can feel my skin, across my nose and cheeks gradually getting redder and redder. In an hour or so more it's gonna be bright red.
I don't know what to do.
I'm on the nhs, I've been waiting months for a derm appointment but there isn't much hope there and now my doctor's think I'm imagining my symptoms. Even though I have the hot flushes, flushes which seem to be triggered by anxiety, heat etc. And I have what I believe to be the constant redness. Am I going crazy? I swear I can see this redness but nobody else seems to be able too.
I feel like screaming!! I'm convinced I have rosacea and they won't give me anything to treat it with. He wouldnt even give me anything for my anxiety/depression. Said he was wary of prescribing after only seeing me once. What the hell happened to the medical profession? When did they sudenly become all ethical, all reluctant to hand out pills? I was of the opinion that was all they did.
So what to do? How best to treat redness without a prescription? Can anybody help?

Hi... i'm hoping that everyone who is suffering from Perioral Dermatitis can post here... maybe we can figure out together what is affecting us by first figuring out what is something that we all have in common... maybe you can answer a few of my question:
1. were you stressed before you got it?
2. did you use any steroid creams or corticosteroid creams before you got this?
3. do you have low iron? or did you at any point?
4. did you apply toothpaste to your pimples at any point before you got this?
5. is your scalp itchy? itchy dry eyes? itchy ears and nose?
6. how long have you had it for?
7. what is your diet like? do you eat a lot of dairy? meat? etc?
8. what moisturizing cream and/or soap do you use for your face?

So I got this stuff called Prosacea and been using it for two weeks and the acne I've had problems with for three years now (I am 26) has faded into nothingness. Red marks - fading fast. NO NEW BREAKOUTS.
What happened?
Proactiv and Dan's Regimen failed me. (Proactiv worked for a while though)
How was it that everybody could easily suppress acne with simple medications while I struggled with embarassing red marks and pustules?
Could it be I had ROSACEA? But a mild form of it? You look at picture examples of rosacea on the internet and the poor people look absolutely HORRIBLE. I feel really really bad for them. How could -I- have that. It only happens to my cheeks. Surely, not me. It must be hormones or something, I thought.
Wellll... I've forgotten to factor in some important things.
1) I have dandruff that is easily treated with Selsun Blue.
2) My eyes get red, puffy and itchy if I dont apply Lubriderm to that area twice a day.
I forgot because those two things were so easily treated. But if I see all three (acne, dandruff, itchy eyes) as RELATED, it sounds like I have the right symptoms to be diagnosed with ROSACEA. Not acne.
Courtesy of Rosacea.org
Any one of the following warning signs is a signal to see a dermatologist or other knowledgeable physician for diagnosis and appropriate treatment before the signs and symptoms become increasingly severe:
* Redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead.
* Small visible blood vessels on the face.
* Bumps or pimples on the face.
* Watery or irritated eyes.
So like I said, this stuff Prosacea in conjunction with Delna's famous baking soda+ACV regimen for red marks (Search: Delna) has cured me within weeks. And believe me, I've been using Delna's regimen for two months without any great results. I just love how it cleans my face and keeps the oil at bay all day.
Am I jumping the gun with my conclusion here? I don't know. I could be wrong. You guys tell me.
Anyone who has tried this stuff Prosacea or any other rosacea medications PLEASE LET ME KNOW and post your thoughts. I'd love to hear from anyone with a similar experience.

So I'm a natural gingerkid so naturally I have very pale skin. I started to suffer from two years ago, it became very bad, my derm even tried to put be on accutane after being non responsive to a few tropicals including monocycline and clindoxyl gel.
After having a very bad reaction to the accutane (ended up in the E.R pumped up with steroids, etc) he put me on tertacycline. It's been a month since, and my ance has actaully cleared up for the most part, I still get breakouts sometimes but most of the time i have very few pimples.. now to the question
Why is my face so red after clearing up? it looks extremely blotchy and red, it usually feels irritated if also and sometimes it feels very hot (like it's burning.) The only time I've felt this way is when I first started shaving, the electric shaver irritated my face, it looks the same way also. I've had a patch test done and i'm not using anything that would probably irritate it. I can't see my derm very often because his office is far away, and he's the only one so he is very very busy (hard to get a app.)
Anyone have any suggestions about what I could try, seriously.. I'll try anything.
Oh and by the way, moisturizer seems to make my face even more red? I'm allergic to one of the common chemicals apperently (from the patch test) so it's not really a option.

Hi everyone, thanks for viewing my thread.
Like most of us here, I have battled acne since my early teens. I am 22 now, I recently bought my own house, work is heavy and demanding, and life is different to when I was living with my parents! My battle with acne has seemed to turn one problem into another.
At first it was bad on my back and neck and I had break-outs on my face from time to time. From the ages of 13 to 18 I had tried several medications. I was prescribed Accutane but never actually started the treatment. I think just through growing up and improvements in my diet, my acne faded naturally. That was all good until I developed eczema and very red-raw dermatitis on my face, neck and scalp. It started out as just a few blotches under my eyes, but it grew and grew until both cheeks were full of it, my top lip suffered, my chin got it and my forehead was covered with it. I tried several creams and prescribed emollients, but with little effect. My doctor even told me to use ketoconazole shampoo on my face. It seemed the only thing that would help it would be to live off fruit and veg and water!
I went on holiday to Greece a few years ago, and used this Nivea after-sun lotion, and surprise surprise, it cleared up my eczema rather well, and I still use it today. So, my acne kinda cleared up on its own, and my eczema is kept under control by this Nivea moisturiser I'm using, but I've slowly developed this redness on all my face.
First I noticed it on my cheeks and it has very slowly spread to all over my face. The only white bits of "normal" skin left are directly round my eyes. I look like a panda! And it stops exactly on my jaw bones. It is not red like eczema-red, it is more of a gentle red, like a pinkish colour. My face has a rather dry but oily feel to it and it is rough to the touch. I shed a lot of skin - I am always seeing flakes stuck to the side of my nose and if I rub my lips, my top lip flakes a lot. My cheeks are bad for flaking - I can gently slide my nail down my cheek and I pull off lots of skin.
I just don't know what it is. I've been to my doctor and he has prescribed me minocycline. After doing research on this product I don't think I need it, as it is a treatment for acne. Yes it keeps acne break-outs at a minimum (but so does a healthy diet in my opinion), but I don't think my doctor really understood what my problem was. After reading some posts on here, minocycline seems to worsen this red flushing of the face. I've been on minocycline for about 6 months now. The redness comes and goes but I don't think it has improved or got worse.
I just feel like I'm in a deep hole with no ladders to get out. I do try and forget about it because sometimes it isn't that bad, but sometimes I can catch myself in the mirror and I think "Geeze" because the front of my neck (throat) is white, then it's red from my chin upwards, with two white patches where my eyes are. I think I look so stupid lol.
Any suggestions on what to try next?

Close up in the mirror you can see light redmarks from when I used to have acne, my acne was very severe and I tried all kinds of products/medacines from the dermatologist etc.
Apart from the occasional spot I get, it's getting slightly better..
HOWEVER
I've had these red marks for about 8 months now... and they will not go away. to me it's the same as having acne, it's horrible.
What should I do

So after all of my pimples went away ( except for the couple that pop up now and then ) I am pretty much acne free (yay!). But instead of zits i now have red irritated skin on my chin and around my mouth. It feels kind of like really dry skin but it isn't dry, i have naturally oily skin. I have tried using moisturizer on it because in the beginning i thought it was just dry skin but I began breaking out after a couple days so I stopped. Does anyone have any suggestions?? My cheeks are also really red with giant pores, but they arent as irritated as my chin and around my mouth (smile lines).
Currently I use the cetaphil oily/acne prone skin wash, persa-gel 5 (5% BP), and cetaphil daily moisturizer.
So if anyone has any suggestions

I would love to hear them!!

I have little to no acne. Mostly on my forehead and underneath my eyes.
My face is still red. I would like to know how to get rid of this. It looks like I am either sunburned or finished running.
I'm going to put some pics up. Let me warn they will be weird and my face will be in strange gestures. I was at a football game and drunk as hell. If anyone calls bluff, look at my pupils in that last picture... LOL
Thanks! Once again, I know those pictures are weird. But they are the most up to date and it clearly shows the redness.

Ok guys. Let me give you a bit of a background here so you understand my situation better. I started getting acne about 4 years ago (18 now) and I didn't do anything for it except OTC stuff for about a year or so. I then went to a dermatologist and went on monocycline for a bit. Didn't help, so they tried tetracycline. During those two processes I was also prescribed the ointment that thins our your skin..(Can't remember the name. It didn't help either though..)
So I went on accutane. First for 5 months, off for 2, then back on for about 4. I then went off for about 2 months, and am back on again. The first two treatments of accutane were at relatively high doses and now the tane I'm taking is about a quarter of what I used to take.
On to the problem. My face gets inanely red whenever I'm either sitting in a stale winded area, humid area, or a hot area. Any combination of the two or one makes my face red in the right circumstances. Also, when I talk in class or am talking with people I don't know, that can cause it to get red too.
The redness is NOT blushing. It has varying degrees of intensity, but once it's fully flushed it stays that way for about 2 hours..depending on where I am. It's red on my cheeks and up the bridge of my nose.
It is also a bit red even when I'm in a relatively cool environment. This isn't as big of an issue, but I thought I'd give you a heads up.
Here's my schedule of lotion and stuff..
Wake up, shower. During said shower I use cetaphil and while cetaphil is on my face, i shave (electric). The cetaphil makes the razor glide alot easier. I then put on aloe vera, let it dry, and then put spf 50 sunscreen on my face. I then put cerave moisturizing cream on because it covers up the shinyness of the sunscreen. The combination of those three things usually makes it so my face lasts the whole day (no peeling or anything).
So what am I doing wrong? Where can I improve my schedule to make it so I can actually participate in social activities? I'm so tired of not being able to do things without the worry of my face. It's horrid, and I can't take it much longer. Just thinking about how nice it would be to not have this danged problem makes me so happy. I hope I can reach that stage soon.
(By the way, my dermatologist recomended that I use the sunscreen. She said that was why my face was red)
Thanks so much guys..

About a week after stopping my medication of DoxycyclineI got put on a new medication called Akamin (minocycline) and put on a topical of differen. My skin was going fine for the first week, then suddenly my skin started getting really red. Just around the nose and moving towards the cheeks. At first I thought it was my skin just being dry, now reading here I see that people have posted things about flushing after minocycline.
The weird thing is that it's on and off. I basically slowly gain a red face, then it slowly leaves, then comes back. I dunno what's going on. What is up?
I'm currently just using Cetaphil dry and sensitive moisturizer at night and morning.
Also, how long does Doxycycline stay in your system? Perhaps it will leave after it leaves my system.
Can someone help?
Thanks

Ok I have been suffering from ACNE for about 8-9 years now, I have had my fair share of ups an downs an made plenty of mistakes along the way. One of the biggest mistakes I made growing up trying to fight my acne was tanning, it made the redness go away an evened out my skin tone however over the years I realized I was doing more harm than good but the damage had already been done.
For the past year or so I have gotten my oily skin under control an I did not breakout at all really. However whenever I looked in the mirror I see these patches of redness an almost a red mask surrounding my face. It is oval in shape an pretty much goes from the top of my forehead down to my chin. Looking in the mirror however I realized my skin tone was very uneven an I did not know what to do about it.
I just got back from vacation an even though I applied tons of sunscreen I got burnt to a crisp which was not good at all. The past couple of weeks I have been having minor breakouts but worse of all my skin tone is completely botched even more an I am scared that their is nothing I can do about this. I will accompany some pictures so everyone can see what it looks like. I have been fighting ACNE for so long I just want my skin to look as nice as possible an ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING...whether I break out or my skin tone is all blotchy...anyway I would appreciate any an all advice on perhaps treatments or things I can do to help even out my skin tone. KEEPING IN MIND I HAVE EXTREMELY SENSITIVE SKIN AN EXFOLIATING IS TOO MUCH FOR ME
[attachment=21609:redness_beforetan.jpg]
This was before I went on vacation as you can see the mask of redness is much more visible here
[attachment=21610:after_Tan.jpg]
This was after getting back from vacation its harder to see the blotchiness but its still there
[attachment=21611:after_Tan2.jpg]
A front shot once again the redness is still there just masked better by some sun
THE SUN IS EVIL!

I'm 17/male and have struggled through what I would say is moderate/mild acne over the years. It's almost always been there, but not to a point where you'd say its really bad. I've gone to the dermatologist a few times and have used antibiotics (doxy/tetra/mino cycline), Benzoyl Peroxide 10% and Differin gel in the past.
Around March/April, I started using BP 10% and Differin (stopped the antibiotic pills about a year ago) very consistently, and looking back, I used too much. I'd only use the differin (.3%) once a day at night but probably too big a dose, and same with the benzoyl peroxide (too much, usually once, sometimes twice a day). I would apply it to my skin, rub it around, leave it for a minute or two, rinse off. Later I would apply differin, usually mixing it with a moisturizer as instructed by my dermatologist.
In terms of acne, my skin was looking fine, not completely clear but too a point where I was happy with it; however, my face has gotten red to a point where it's just not right. Its really red, and redness has never been a problem for me in the past, not ever. It's been like this since early June, and I've tried to let it go away and it won't. Its particularly red in my upper cheeks, and kind of looks like a sunburn but clearly thats not what it is.
I went to my dermatologist and he gave hydrocortisone valerate which he said would clear it up easily, but it didn't have any effect at all. Then he gave mometasone furoate, which again had no effect. At this point I'd completely stopped using both BP and Differin.
He then put me on doxycycline, saying that it should help get rid of the redness as well as treat acne. He also gave me this cream called noritate, saying that should help as well. So far though it's been about 2 weeks on those and theres still no difference. Only thing is, my acne's gotten worse because of the lack of BP/differin anymore, but right now thats the least of my worries. The redness is really bothering me and I can't seem to get rid of it. My dermatologist said the doxycycline/noritate should help it go away and that it should take about 4 weeks, but I've lost some respect for him and don't want to soloey trust what he has to say.
Basically what I want to know is -- how did this happen, more importantly how can I fix it, and also how I can go about treating acne in the future once I get this redness controlled. I know BP is like the ideal thing, and for someone like me whose white with kinda sensitive skin, big doses of BP 10% probably weren't the best idea. My doc also said this could be a form of rosacea but I don't know why that would suddenly pop up. I should also mention that I can actually notice my face feeling hot. It comes on quickly, even if I just walk into a room that a couple degrees warmer. Not pleasent... Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Hey everyone, just wondering what in the world is going on with my face. Here are the issues:
-Redness, pretty consistent with what Roscaea sounds like. Very sensitive skin, prone to blushing, base hue of pink pretty much all the time. Almost more rash like than even pinkness. Splotchy often.
-Little tiny bumps, not really like acne (in that they don't ever move past the stage you see below) but look a lot like early stage acne. I think these are called "pustules" but I'm not sure. You'll see what I mean best in the first image below; basically little white (and red) bumps, especially in cheek area.
-Rough texture to the skin in T-Zone area. Not sure what is going on here.
-The SHINE! In the second and third images you'll see what my face looks like when it catches the light. There is this constant shine to it. I thought this was oilyness, but it's there even after I wash. (Especially if it was rigorously). I know this can strip the face of its natural oils, and thus cause it to overproduce oil, but this seems different than just normal oily skin. Pretty much never changes. And it's not just like sweat, you can see there is a weird texture to it too. It is like this ALL the time -- only ever gets worse. Seemingly unaffected by moisturizing, cleansing, not cleansing, anything.
-Seb derm like build up if I don't use pythorine zinc cleansers. Skin appears scaly pretty much all the time, but no actual scales.
My routine has changed over the years, but I recently found the most success with Atopalm moisturizer and Born to be Mild cleanser. I used the Atopalm for two years and recently stopped because I feared it might be the cause of the shine. (?) I used to take pills, use topical RXs, everything under the sun, but found no long term solution.
Basically I am wondering TWO things: A) WHAT is going on here? I think it's a combo of acne, seb derm, and rosacea, but I have no idea. Maybe I am missing something (?) and B) What would you suggest I do from here? Right now I am just using Cetaphil cleanser at night, and rinsing in the morning. I am taking green tea pills, fish oil, and spirulina. Pretty hands off regimen right now, not much change though. I am looking for any and all suggestions (for any of the above issues, but hopefully a fix all haha)
Help PLEASE : /

Does this really work for inflammed red pustules? Will it actually take the redness away and for how long? I can have a small nodule/pustule form and it seems like the red around it stretches for miles, i hate it and ice never works for me.

Hello! Im new here, first post to any forum on here =) Ive read how the regimen works, what it can do, and also read many posts by people. While im posting im remembering many people mentioning something called Accutane... is this the same thing as the regimen? What im really wondering is if i start the regimen, if its going to do more bad than good?
I'm a girl, and I have naturally very very white skin, its quite thin, and very sensitive. Without makeup, im quite red in the cheeks and nose and chin, but quite pale the rest of my face, oh the contrast! haha. I have quite a few blackheads on my nose and i think acne causes most of the redness, but i still have very sensitive skin, that tends to turn red even under a little pressure... anyways, i have heard that when people use this, it tends to make their faces flush and turn red constantly, and since thats happening already, im wondering if its just going to make it worse? I have tried many things from specific products for sensitive skin, or things that claim to reduce redness and just plain using a good cleanser but nothing makes my face not red enough to go out into public without foundation. I dont really wanna start the regimen and have to not wear foundation and be red and gross... its my last year of high school and i would like to look not red through most of it =) I can deal with a bit of redness, and i think without acne i will look much better..
SO! in short... Im very red and sensitive, is the regimen going to make it worse and inflame my whole face... or will it clear me up? any advice would be wonderful!!

Hi I have had a strange problem around my T-zone for quite some time where the whole area in the t-zone that has open pores (on the cheeks right by the sides of my nose, on my whole nose and down the creases leading to the sides of my mouth) is a little bit red. Every single one of these pores also seems to get filled with something I've told is a keratin plug, otherwise known as hardened sebum which appear like little tiny white/yellow grains of salt in my pores.
Somethimes I rub these out but this seems to make the area redder for some time but leaving them in also seems to make it look red. Also after I throw water on this area I get a lot of dead white skin in this area. I have been recommended Daktarin Gold to help with the redness and flaking skin but I'm wondering is there anything that will help me to remove the white things themselves without causing redness or irritation as every time I remove them by picking they start to "build up" again the very next day. I've never had acne or spots so it's a complete mystery to me.
This is the area that my problem is in (if the picture will show), except obviously my pores are bigger, redder and contain the plugs:-

I have been off accutane for about a month and it cleared most of the acne but the redness is still there and the derm told me that it will go away eventually after a while because the healing takes time.(Didn't specify how long, but I understood) Now one day I went out onto the lake to do some fishing. The weather started off with heavy rain and throughout the whole day it was decently sunny and cloudy periods. Wasn't hot enough to expect any sunburn imo. Anyways I get home and my cheeks are sunburned. The cheeks are the only area left with any redness or red marks that needed to be healed after accutane. Anyways i go to sleep and next day my cheeks are full of sunburn bubbles.
I put some aloe on it but anyone have any recomendations on what I should be doing to get rid of these? or will my skin just peel with them?

hi everyone
i have suffered with acne for a while now ( mayeby 5 or so years). most of my pimples have slowly started clearing up but my face just stays red.
the only way i can explain it, is my face just looks angry (really red skin) and i have no idea if it is going to stay like this and if so for how long.
has anyone had skin problems like mine? my skin is very oily and the oil seems to iritate it and cause alot of the redness.
i used to surf alot also but since i have moved inland for university the redness seems to have goten worse and theres nothing i can do to hide it (used to surf everyday, so usually had zink and that on).
i uploaded a photo that hopefully should be on now, if anyone has any suggestions or whatever i would be glad to hear them as i am at my wits end ha.
