I put "natural" in quotations because I know many naturally-derived ingredients can be rather irritating. Here's the scoop. I've tried so many moisturizers over the years, from drugstore stuff (dove, aveeno, eucerin, cetaphil) to mid-range health store brands (avalon organics, beauty without cruelty, the list goes on).

After stressing about my greasy skin for years, I recently discovered that the *only* thing that doesn't make me oily is a dab of jojoba oil mixed with water, or forgoing moisturizer altogether and using a creamier cleanser. This worked in warm weather, but winter is coming and my skin is getting dry. I might keep using jojoba, but I'm wondering if any of you grease balls have had success with other moisturizers (oil-based or otherwise).

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated...preferably something natural, but I'm open to anything that works. wink.gif

I use agave nectar as a natural sweetener fairly often. It has a lower glycemic load than most sweeteners, which seemed like a plus. In researching sugar alternatives, I've recently stumbled upon some pretty negative points...namely that agave is as bad as HFCS because of its incredibly high fructose content. Can anyone weigh in on this article?

I don't consume dairy, so this isn't an issue for me, but I haven't read much about inflammation and soy. I'm wondering if anyone else can shed some light. Is soy considered inflammatory?

Hi all - I've been battling acne for maybe a decade now (I'm 22) and have been lurking here for years. I was keeping my acne under control with hormonal birth control, but stopped 3 months ago due to the havoc it was wreaking on my body. My acne has returned since going off the pill. It's somewhat mild and non-inflamed for most of the month, and flares up around my period (cystic).

I've experimented with supplementation and dietary changes, but I've always made too many changes at once. I was vegan for years, and have recently begun to incorporate eggs back into my diet. I don't consume dairy, so this can be checked off the list. As for fish and fish oil, I'm not ready to go there yet...

I'm looking to kick things into high gear with some dietary changes. I'd like to do this meticulously, eliminating foods one at a time and leaving enough time to test the outcome. Wheat makes me short of breath and sleepy, so I figure this is a good place to start. But then there's sugar...and low gi...and anti-inflammatory...and anti-candida. I'm willing to be a guinea pig. From those of you who have achieved clarity through dietary changes, where is the BEST place to start and how long should I test drive each dietary change.

Thanks. wink.gif
