Hello everyone. Basically, I have 2 small beauty marks(completely flat, not like a mole)g right next to each other on the left side of my face(on the cheek bone area), which add a little zing to my otherwise plain face. Recently, a large cyst developed right under them and after a few days it came to a head which was big enough to encompass both marks. While gently washing my face, it popped and after treating the area I noticed that both my beauty marks were gone. I'm guessing when it ruptured, it took both my marks with it when the skin ripped.
Do these things ever grow back or have I lost them forever? The bump has dissipated and the skin is starting to return to my normal color, but the marks are nowhere in sight.

Somewhat long story short, I used to have moderate acne as a teenager(20 now) but as soon as I started taking Mino 100mg 1x a day my skin made a turn for the best. And I was on that for about 2 years straight. Eventually my derm wanted to ween me off of it so he handed me an emergency 1 month supply of pills, 2 trial size thingies of Benzaclin and sent me on my way.(This was Nov 2006)
7 months had passed and not a single breakout, and I thought I had finally beaten acne. All I would do is wash my face and apply some Neutrogena On the Spot BP. But nope, it came back fast and furious. I got my emergency pills at the pharmacy that same week, but nothing could stop it. It got pretty bad, and had to go to the derm again but this time he gave me Doxycycline 100mg 2x a day. It was making my stomach ache so bad, and my mom had to call the derm back because I arrived at work looking like a sick dog and throwing up in the bathroom.( 13 bucks/hr untaxed, I love working with my mom lol We went to this derm in the same medical building we work at, and I told him what happened blah blah blah. And he said if Mino works for me, and we know that it does, why the hell should we stop using it. He gave me 120 Mino pills 100mg 2x a day plus a tube of Duac and it's what I've been on ever since. I'd imagine that things are going to change(for the good or bad, I don't know) because if anyone saw my first topic that I made in this forum, my unit(US Army) got its orders and I'm being deployed over to the Sandbox. After training we were allowed to go home and await orders, hence the unshaven beard and long hair in the first pictures. Morning: Take 1 pill, empty stomach Neutrogena oil free acne wash Clinique(Skin supplies for men) M lotion On occassion: spot treatment with Duac Night: Take 1 pill, empty stomach Neutrogena oil free acne wash Duac on affected areas with spot treatment on larger pimples. Don't pay attention to the toothbrush, I was multi-tasking ok lol. I've been wanting to watch that Harry Potter movie, and I just now managed to drag a friend with me. Gotta live life to it's fullest, before ya get sent over there.

As the topic title suggests, this is the first time this has ever happened to me. You can usually feel/see when a new zit is about to come out, and all the signs were there only inside my nose
It feels exactly how a regular zit would feel, only just in my nose.(To be honest Im kinda glad that it's happening, as now the blemish can be free to grow and get red and eventually go away without anybody seeing a thing) I've also had them come out inside my ear(not inside inside) and in my armpits(I dont shave em, guy here, so I dont suspect shaving bumps lol) What twisted scientific explanation can someone give me for these zits in these weird places?

I've been lurking on the boards for a while and yesterday my unit got their orders and we are being deployed to Iraq. Was just hoping anyone who has any experience in the desert atmosphere could give me advice on what I could use. I've seen weather forecasts and it seems to do quite a bit of jumping from moderate 87 degrees one day and spiking to 113-120 and even sometimes a chilly 140 degrees.
I've lived in CA all my life so Im definitely not going to be used to this kind of heat and dusty conditions. I've had very very mild acne as a child(I used to think it was the end of the world back then) where I'd get maybe 1 pimple a month. During summer break before I entered high school for the first time, my acne went from 1 pimple a month to getting like 4. Would get these utter massive ones on my nose(I'd always pray to put it anywhere on my face except my nose). Went to the derm and they gave me, I think, Benzaclin. Wiped those suckers out in a few weeks and I was clean and clear for the rest of my freshman year. It still continued to be a clear skin affair with a big pimple or two every month. Then I started University life and things got a little worse. It stopped being a "1 every month" dealio and started becoming a "5-6" a month affair with more coming before I could even wipe out the other ones. I got put on 100mg Minocycline for 2 years and that worked wonders. Back to the 1 pimple a month scenario. Finally, my derm wanted to ween me off of the antibiotics so he gave me an emergency 1 month supply of Mino and 2 samples thingies of Benzaclin. He told me to use only the Benzaclin and if my acne got bad, start up the pills. I went 6 months with again, very very very mild acne. A few tiny bumps here and there but that was it. Then my face started going haywire again and it's gotten pretty bad. Im down to 4 pills of my emergency Mino and it hasn't helped much. My regime is: Neutrogena oil free acne wash Neutrogena on the spot BP Clinique moisturizer. I don't use the moisturizer much because my face doesn't really get dry or flaky like some people. My virgin skin was just tough as nails to begin with and it took the first Benzaclin BP like a champ. It's never dry so a small tube of moisturizer lasts me for like months. Now that I have said my history it is back to the burning question: What to use for these desert environments? I expect extreme heat in the day, freezing temps in the night with ALOT of dust. The food I'll be getting won't be anything healthy....MRE's are meant to give you energy not healthy natural supplements. One single MRE is 3000 calories(Average person needs 2000 a day), but then again when you're lugging around 70-90 pounds of equipment and are marching everywhere you tend to burn it really quickly. Then I have to stress to contend with(which I doubt I'll ever be able to get rid of), seeing as how I'm a Combat Medic so I expect to be sent out on patrols and convoy duty with the Infantry. Thx in advance! |
