Hi everyone!

I’ve been a long time user of the Regimen, maybe four years now? Anyhow it has worked wonders up until recently. Sometimes when using the regimen in too strong of doses one area of my face would be blotched red. I would merely stop applying the BP to it and after time it would go away after a week or two.

However now it is happening more frequently and I cannot apply any BP to my face or else it becomes aggravated and seems to spread. I’ve attached a photo of what it looks like. They aren’t pimples or anything. Sometimes they are raised and if they are very irritated then a larger one may leak a little fluid.

This has been happening for the past couple weeks and I am trying to spot treat as needed but noticing since stopping double daily treatments my face is becoming very oily, back to the old days.. . and now recently single so it is the worst possible time. cool.gif

I was curious if anyone has experienced this, knew what it was, or had any suggestions for combating it rather than just cold turkey on the BP and hoping for the best.

Thanks so much!

Hey thanks for the idea. I'll give that a shot and see if it helps the healing process. Once it goes away I should be able to continue the regimen. I hope.

Otherwise it's back to other options I'd rather not try... namely Accutane as it was the only thing that worked while I was on it. Bla..

I'm just going to throw this out there but it looks like you may be irritating your skin when you shave. Do you notice any ingrown hairs? Try disposable razors and make sure you are not putting to much pressure on the razor. (the best way to prevent this is to hold the razor with all the fingers at the top except the index finger, which should just guide the razor)

... we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. Yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more. perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless.

Thanks for the suggestion Dan.

I purchased a new set of Razors and have been very careful. Generally it isn't an issue but have addressed that as well.

Here is an update:

I stopped using any BP for about a week, using moisturizer and also treating with the Maximum Strength Cortizone 10 plus an antibiotic ointment mixture. Just this morning I noticed that all the red blotches have completely dissipated so I figured it was time to try a single coating of BP.

12 hours alter every area that was irritated before has puffed up and has gotten super red, as if I didn't take a week off. I'm starting to think I've developed some kind of allergy to BP? If that is even possible.

So back to square one. This time I'll try two weeks off and just treat a small portion of my face as a test next time...

I'll also start to look into other treatment options especially if BP is no longer going to work for me.

Disappointing.
