Okay, heres my quick question:
Way back in summer I had my skintone matched for Double Wear Original Foundatio. They guy matched me with Fresco, and mentioned something about Pink undertones. However, when I apply my foundation, it looks a little pinkish to my original skintone on my neck. Does this mean I have to go with a shade lighter or darker? I really suck at picking out shades, so I could use a little help on what I should do... Thanks!

Any users of Jane Iredale products on the site? What are you thoughts? I was just browsing the internet and saw some of their products that look interesting, however some things about it scare me to use it...such as the Tinted Moisturizer. The TM has algae extract, which I read can cause breakouts...
I was also interested in possibly trying Mineral Makeup...I know Jane Iredale has some as well, but can anyone give me Mineral Makeup basics? For example, I really don't use powder as a foundation, so how am I suppose to use powder foundation if it cakes!? Also, what are some good drugstore Mineral Makeup products to try? (NO BARE MINERALS OR SHEER COVER. Post them and I will exterminate you...no, jk. Just don't mention these two, since I read too much about them that I don't want to bother to try). Thanks!

Ever since adding differin back into my regimen, I've slowly gotten back to where I was before I has stopped using Differin. There was the intial breakout (again) and it lasted for quite some time (more than 4 weeks). But now I'm slowly starting to heal, well sort of. Anyone else get areas that are brokeout cleared, and then areas where you were clear brokeout? That explains my forhead and cheek areas.
My forhead was pretty clear, and just oily, but now i had bad cystic breakout at the ends of my eyebrows, and one near my forhead. It leaves me saying to myself, wtf? However I'm thinking this is due to not washing out hair products that I use for my hair (wax, hairspray, pomade, etc.). So that could contribute to that...but anyways, my cheeks are getting clear (I mean on my face...lol). My left side barely has one or two pimples while my right side has a few...but then below my face/neck area on my right side I had a nasty breakout there too (perhaps from shaving?). Anyways, I thought I'd let other people know about my differin usage. Now I only have three breakout areas to heal up and I should be pretty much clear! (hopefully soon so I can do something about my unveven skintone...)

Simply put, what is retinol? Is it almost like a retinoid or not? I've seen it in a bunch of anti-aging products we sell at work, but I really don't know what it is or what it really does (usually I search stuff on a search engine, but I'd rather hear from people that may actually use it...).
Thanks!

I've had blackheads for quite some time...but now, they have been inflamming really bad around my lip (which is difficult to cover up...since it's right next to my lip and anything I put around there could wear off from anything...). Tonight I've decided to put a small layer of benzoyl peroxide around my lip, ti help treat/reduce the inflammation. I might just extract the blackheads around my lip when my Tweezerman comes in the mail. Another idea I had was to add some glycolic acid to my regimen (after reading Wynne's recommendations, I'm thinking about the Alpha Hydrox Souffle). However, I used the last of my glycolic wash (DDF 5%) and it was a little irritating to my face...
Anyone have any ideas for me to try and do you think my plans are okay to try? Thanks! Other things I've been doing is icing the inflamed blackheads...this seems to help out. I've also tried using my usual DDF Sulfur as a spot treatment, but that just makes the inflammation really dry and flaky. I also was doing the sea salt mixed with water (a suggestion I read from another user, Molly I think). |

I use the one for oily/combination skin, it comes out of the bottle easier. With the one for dry skin, it was really hard to get it out of the bottle. 11 Nov 2009 - 10:10
