I've noticed that when I exceed a certain amount of soy in my diet, I seem to have negative effects from the phytoestrogens. I was in denial of this for awhile, because I've gone back and forth on my opinion on soy so many times in the past and figured I'd consume good amounts of it daily to see if I would have problems.
Well, a few months later I've found the biggest effect is after I go above a certain amount of soy daily in my diet, I quickly lose my libido (sex drive). This isn't really a desirable thing for me, although I could see it as that for some (religious fanatics, monks meditating on mountain tops...). I think there are also subtle effects in my personality from the hormone changing nature of soy, in that I become less assertive and more passive. That could be in my head, but I seem a difference when soy goes out of my diet, so who knows. Either way, I think I'm going to ditch the soy milk and keep tofu (which I quite like, it's just so tasty) for occassional eating in small amounts, probably when I go out to eat at Asian restaurants only. The fermented varieties of soy don't excite me that much though (tempeh... eh). Anyways, the point of this post was to ask other males if they've noticed any similar effects with soy? Chime in.

Two long worms, 3-4 inches. Makes me feel absolutely gross inside if I think abuot it too deeply. However, my acne has gone to mild and is looking better and better and the worms were dead, which I guess I can attribute to the turmeric that's in my milk thistle supplement, since turmeric is a nice pungent herb that has a tendency to piss of those critters that can grow inside you. Parasite killing protocol starts today: Wormwood, Cloves, Neem, Turmeric. And I used to think this stuff was all so bizarre when I first saw curezone.com... now it's a reality.

So I've been intrigued lately by this website: http://askwaltstollmd.com/ . Basically, Dr. Stoll believes that the single most important weapon in fighting acne is "skilled relaxation" combined with other things such as a whole foods diet, elimination diet, EFA's and exercise. But he says the "skilled relaxation" remains the most important component in healing the body.
What is skilled relaxation? QUOTE Biofeedback research, over the past 20 years, has demonstrated that the common denominator, which determines the effectiveness of ALL types of relaxation techniques, is that the technique must produce an Alpha or Theta rhythm in the brain. It seems that, when the brain rhythms are 4-12 cycles/second (cps), the body/mind discharges the stored readiness of "fight or flight stress-effect" 24 times faster than sleep does. The usual, awake, thinking rhythm is Beta (14-20 cps). The asleep rhythm, when muscular control is lost, is Delta (2-4 cps). Alpha is 8-12 cps while Theta is 4-8 cps. Students of expanded brain function ascribe different effects to different rhythms. If you want to get into it, I would suggest you read The Awakened Mind by Maxwell Cade and Nona Coxhead, published by Delacorte Press; as well as Megabrain by Michael Hutchison, published in 1986 by Beech Tree Books. Although these are probably out of print, your library will be able to find you a copy through their electronic lending network. For our purposes here, suffice it to say: it matters not a whit what technique you learn to use. Unless it produces "The Relaxation Response (4-12 cps)", it will not do all the wonderful things that you have been hearing about that have been ascribed to "skilled relaxation." So basically he's saying you need to be in the alpha brain wave twice a day for atleast a few of the twenty minutes you devote to skilled relaxation, twice daily. This could be done with meditation, binaural beats, etc. I've always found that if I meditate for 15-20 minutes, my skin always looks better immediately after, though it's a temporary result. I am believing more and more that the benefits you get from meditation and achieving the alpha brain wave, and the benefits you get from getting adequate, deep sleep every night are one of the same, yet in my opinion it's easier to ensure adequate daily meditation then it is to get adequate daily rest. One piece of evidence to support this notion: just as deep, restful sleep can be beneficial for improving insulin sensitivity, so can meditation, as this article says: http://www.cbc.ca/cp/HealthScout/060613/6061304U.html. Well, I think I'm going to try to devote 2x20 minute sessions of meditation into the alpha state every day and see if it improves my skin as much as Dr. Stoll suggests. Well, I've done 9 flushes and still have pain in the lower right ribcage, leading me to believe there's something big in there that needs to be broken up. So I got GCG to break up the stones. However, I got it in whole, dried form, not tinctured.
I decided I'll use most of it for tea and the rest I have floating around in vodka to become a tincture, which will take 2 weeks to reach desired potency. Denise2 or Leah / anyone else, do you have any experience with using GCG as a tea or have you heard anything about it? I read on Julia Chang's site that the tea is better to use for kidney stones... but right now it's the only available means I have and it's gonna be a lil while longer before my tincture is made.................. but I got it at a fraction of what Chang charges. |
