So...I've started using it as of Thursday on my hubby's upper arms, my upper arms, and my jaw line and under my chin just to see how our skin reacts to it.
So far, my arms are baby butt smooth, it's been 4 days of application. My husband has a condition on his upper arms (that usually goes away when he's been massively exercising and sweating for a long period of time), but it's these tiny tan colored bumps that are very persistent. I applied the AHA+ to only one arm to moniter the difference. I'll post some pics in upcoming days. His arm where the AHA+ was applied is noticeably smoother and the coloring of the bumps is a lot lighter only after 4 days of treatment, so he's excited to see more progress. Now for my concerns... I do a lot of my research on a site called MakeupAlley, and the AHA+ got some very good reviews (92% average - which is GREAT on this site). HOWEVER - I came across a post from a member that says: "I was researching some other chemicals that were in the AHA+, and I discovered the Buteleyne Glycol in it produced formaldehyde slowly when absorbed through the skin, nono! So, sadly the Acne.org Regimen did not work for me and even the AHA+ didn't, but hopefully it does for You !" ...Mods, is this true? I don't know much about formaldehyde, but it doesn't sound very good! Anyways, for anybody who has used the AHA+, or is currently using it, what have your experiences been with the product? I've literally read every review on acne.org & MUA, so anybody who hasn't already shared their experiences is much appreciated

I just ordered the AHA+ from Dan's website and I CAN'T WAIT TO TRY IT! The only problem is, I don't know what order to apply my products in. I'm going to order Dan's BHA (the time released trial one) also. So do I apply it:
Cleanse - BHA, let dry - AHA, let dry? Cleanse - AHA, let dry, BHA let dry? OR.. should I alternate days, like AHA one day, BHA one day, back and forth? I've been using BHA every day and it's been keeping me PRETTY clear, so I'm weary of dropping it from my daily routine. Is it safe to apply both AHA and BHA right after one another for my night routine? As for the initial breakout I hear about, I've been using BHA for about 3 months now, and I experienced my IB with BHA. Do you think I would experience another purge with AHA? Or are my pores pretty cleared out from the BHA? Also, has anyone tried the trial BHA and likes it so far?

So I just found out that there'e a LUSH in a mall close to my place, so I have been reading reviews on their masks... I want to try a mask called the Mask of Magnaminty, I think I'll ask for a sample. Has anyone tried any LUSH masks and has good/bad experiences? My #1 concern is breaking out!

I made an earlier post about this toner from Newco that I bought, with hyaluronic acid as the active ingredient. I didn't really know WHAT HA was, but my hubby said that our body produces it naturally, and it helps to keep skin younger, and regenerate skin cells. I have been using it for a little bit under a month now, and I started to realize after about a week that my red marks were getting light really quickly. It's now about one month in, and at around the 3 week point, they were faded about 95%, leaving a tiny tiny tiny pinish dot almost. During the month I read up on hyaluronic acid, and found that
"Hyaluronic acid (HA) was an addition to the personal care label that caught my eye. Never heard of it? It is one of the most researched chemicals that occur naturally in the body. It is an effective antioxidant and has an incredible ability to bind moisture to tissue. Rapid healing and reduced scarring occur when hyaluronic acid is applied to wounds and severe burns. This is the chemical that keeps skin toned and looking good by giving elasticity to the surface of the skin. With age, the body’s production of HA decreases, hence the saggy skin and wrinkles. " I wasn't applying it to wounds/freshly popped blemishes (cysts), these were already cysts that came and went, and left their nasty red marks. So it proves that HA is also effective at treating PIH. I only applied my toner on areas with PIH, and never on actives, but after reading this weekend that it works well to reduce scarring on wounds and burns, I'm going to start applying it the next time I get a zit, as soon as it's ready to start healing. I'm currently using this toner, by Newco like I mentioned above: http://www.musclemist.ca/eMerchantPro/pc/v...p;idproduct=267 It also has vitamin E and tea tree oil in it, which could also be aiding in the process. Anyways, if it sounds promising, do some more research on hyaluronic acid, and give it a try. I bought this toner not realizing it would help with my red marks, what a sweet suprise?!

So, I wanted to make this post yesterday when I was pretty sure my cyst was on its way out, but I also wanted to wait until it was completely gone to be sure I'm not raving about something before it actually worked for me.
So I got a small sized cyst on Friday evening, which developed into a medium sized cyst on Saturday morning. I read all around for things on the internet after making a post on acne.org asking how to stop a small cyst from turning larger. Anyways, I found some great reviews (actually ON acne.org) for 100% tea tree oil, and how it works most effectively on larger zits like cysts and nodules, ect. So I got my hubby to pick some up for me, it was $8 CDN, and made by the same company that makes my favorite toner. (Newco - an Austrailian company). I applied a few drops to a qtip and dabbed it on my cyst twice a day (okay, I actually applied it more like 3-4 times a day on Sunday). This morning, the cyst is completely flat. I feel kind of like I cheated my cyst and that I have an awesome defense against any new ones that might spring up in the future. If you guys haven't tried this already, and you have a cyst that you want to get rid of at a faster rate, give it a freakin try! Try it, and if it doesn't work, then yell at me all you want! All I know is that I had a cyst on Friday, and it's Monday, and GONE. Apparently tea tree oil has antibacterial agents, and great skin penetration. It stopped my cyst from developing any further, and shrunk it so damn quickly. I wish I would have had this damn stuff over the past 4 months! If anyone goes and buys it and tries it, post below and let me know how quickly your cyst goes away. By the way, I didn't ice this cyst at all. I usually ice EVERY cyst I get, but the TTO brought down the redness and inflammation within hours, and kept it down if applied a couple times a day. Anyways, I'm just happy I found something that actually worked, and I didn't waste MORE money on my skin. |
