Did a search for dermamed, and didn't come up with anything...but wondering if any of you have tried this product - it's supposed to be a natural plant ointment for itchy, cracking and irritated skin. For those of you who have acne and eczema, you know what a battle it is to get clear(er) skin.
Like lots of GPs, mine prescribed me cortizone for the eczema. I've recently been getting itchy eyelids, and yesterday she told me to put the cortizone there too. Isn't cortizone supposed to have some pretty icky side effects? I don't want to put it on my eyelids. Ahh!!

Looking for something natural. Stuff I've tried for eczema (but not on eyelids): lavender and camomile cream from Escents, lavender oil straight on, and sarna (no luck). I have just started taking capsules with evening primrose oil, flax seed, vitamin b etc...
Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!! 8)

Has anyone tried this?
http://www.natural-acne-treatments.com/the...cure-index.html
I bought his e-manual ($40 w/discount) and it has some very helpful information with regard to keeping one's body in optimum health. It isn't all completely new information, and some of his recommendations have been already brought up by members here, such as the liver flush. But overall everything he recommends makes a lot of sense together, and it has been a very useful guide for me in terms of readjusting my diet. Without his detailed explanations I'd feel lost as to what to take and how much to take in order to control my acne. By no means have I been able to completely incorporate everything he recommends (that would be a pretty penny) but I've been eating disgustingly healthy lately and avoiding my usual slice of pizza, and combined with the use of Facedoctor's seabuckthorn soap, I can feel my skin telling me ":o

=D>

YES!!!!".
I'm not pitching his book, but I am curious as to who here as already come across this site in their search for the answer to the great mystery that is acne. Anyway, just thought I'd share this happy change of things.

I went to this site
http://www.curezone.com/clark/parasites.asp to read about parasite cleansers and liver flushes. My question is about the parasite cleanse: Right after the instructions about the Black Wal Nut thing then the bold text it says For a Year:. Does this mean that I can't start on any other of the parasitic cleansers until I've done that for a year?

Would antibiotics be a bad idea in the long run? Acne is a result of an internal imbalance, and the liver, intestines and other organs have to be functioning properly... If antibiotics (tetracycline) destroys all bacteria, it will bring down inflammed acne but what about in the long run? Does it do more harm than good?
Would it be okay if I took a probiotic at the same time as an antibotic?
What do u think?

For the past 3 weeks I have been taking a multivitamin and a multimineral, drinking soymilk, cutting down on meat and fat and eating many vegatables and fruit.
Basically, in those three weeks, I had ONE zit! Besides my complexion looking a whole lot better (My red marks have pretty much faded), I also feel better. I have lots of energy and I just feel great overall.
Well, I hope that helps convince some people that diet can affect your face! And even if it doesnt, its good for your health to eat better.

Hi all,
I've posted this before (sorry to repeat readers) but wanted to post again in the new forum because a simple diet change made such DRASTIC difference in my skin and I hope I can help others. I haven't changed anything else that was part of my lifestyle except completely eliminating diary products from my diet. I used to get gross, cystic ance that would get red and puff up above the surface of my skin. They were painful and swollen and just not fun at all. I used to drink milk like most people drink water or pop. I noticed when I didn't do it that much that things improved. Once I totally stopped drinking milk the really bad scarring type acne went away totally. The worst I've had since then were little closed pores that look red but aren't really anything and that was after I ate some cheese. So I guess I learned! [-X
Hope this helps. After my experience I definitely believe that at least for some people, diet does affect their skin. It only makes sense that what you put in your body can affect any part of it in ways you might not fully realize!
Good luck everyone!

For about a half a year I have stayed fairly clear bit every once in a while I will get a few zits....but during this half a year I drank milk in school and I ate meat and bread and I drank PILES AND PILES of sodas...Now I have changed my diet....I dont drink regular milk I drink soy...I try not to eat bread and I havnt drank a soda in like 2-3 weeks....I have been eating fruits for breakfest...and in school now I drink water..and I go threw the salad bar instead of eating the regular foods they serve...But I cant tell wether this is helping my acne or not....and im beginning to think that cutting all the yummy foods out of my diet isnt worth it....
I LOVE bread and I LOVE SODA and sweets...
And I just did a test...today I ate ALOT of peanuts candy sodas..and ALOT of bread and meat and regular milk....so if these foods DO aggervate my acne..when can I expect the break out??? How many days or weeks...
Cause I HATE the new acne diet...and if im going to use the new acne diet I want to know if the "ACne causing foods" really aggervate my acne...
BTW....the bad foods dont aggervate acne in all people do they???
And are peanuts acne aggervating???

My roommate swears that taking a 400mg vitamin E every morning makes her skin less prone to breaking out and give her an overall better looking complexion. I don't think she ever had serious problems in the first place, but has anyone else had this experience? What multivitamins or other suppliments have helped you?

Today, green tea is getting the majority of the press for its positive effect on health. This is due to the power of its constituents, which include carotenoids, chlorophyll, polysaccharides, fats, vitamins C and E, manganese, potassium and zinc. However, experts agree that it is one type of constituent in particular that provides most of the health benefits. These are polyphenols.
Green tea is regarded as an antioxidant. The polyphenols, especially EGCG, prevent free radical damage and have even been found to detoxify free radicals produced by the environmental toxin paraquat. (Carcinogenesis 10 [1989]: 1003)
Green tea is also used topically and in this case is known as a styptic, which helps stop bleeding when applied topically. It has been used lukewarm on open wounds, acne, athlete’s feet, and sunburn, and appears to protect the skin from damage from ultraviolet radiation exposure. Researchers are not yet sure why this works but think it may be due to its antioxidant activity.
One study indicates that 6,000 Japanese women who were nondrinkers and nonsmokers over 40 who drank about five cups of green tea a day had a 50 percent decrease in the risk of stroke.
----------------------------------
This is my second day of drinking 4-5 cups a day. Lets see what happens

Since i posted an article about acne and milk i decided to stop drinking milk at all. So that means no cheese, yoghurt and milk. And i can guerantee you that it really works.
During the last week i did not have ANY new pickels, while in a normal week i have at least 4. Even the red spots from where pickels have been are getting a lot less. It maybe sounds like a cheap fairytail but it is really working.
So if you ask me, milk is a reason for acne. (for me)

I wrote this awhile ago for acne and/or losing weight. Remember some of these things are very controversial. For example, milk has lots of protein which is seen to be very good for losing weight, but also contains hormones which can effect acne. I tried to make an ACNE/WEIGHT LOSS diet, here it is. (I used this for acne, I don't have weight problems). I didn't find this diet very effective, when I decided to eat "bad" foods, I saw no difference in my acne. Other people have been more lucky, seeing significantly good results. (I was on this diet for 8 months).
here you go JC:
Try eating organic (natural) foods opposed to inorganic (man-made) foods. Organic foods are less refined, making it easiar for the body to digest.
Try to eat complex carbohydrates (instead of simple carbohydrates) as your main intake of carbohydrates. Complex carbohydrates have more nutritional value because they contain vitamins, minerals and fiber. These types of carbohydrates are also significantly lower in fat, saturate fat and calories.
~If you're trying to lose weight fast, I recommend significantly lowering your carbohydrate influx. You should be eating generous portions of fruits and vegetables (don't over-do the fruit, glucose (sugar) is prevalant in fruit). Fruits that are supposively suppose to help skin include: Strawberries, rasberries, blackberries, papaya, broccoli, peas, redleaf lettuce, etc. (redleaf lettuce has some nuitrition while other lettuce does not). I'd stay away from: Bananas, mango's, potatoes and carrots.
~Stay away from simple carbohydrates these include: Sugars (fructose, sucrose, glucose (glucose is actually present in fruit, just eat in moderation, not too much)). Honey, corn syrup, candy, dairy products (eggs, milk (milk that is hormone free is ok, meaning it should be free of the hormone "rBST")).
~You should try to switch to whole-wheat bread and/or brown pasta, rice, etc. (Less refined, body digests better).
~Some people recommend staying away from foods high in SALT (Sodium, Na). Although I recommend fish later on, I recommend staying away from things like peanuts which are high in salt. Peanuts are also legumes which are thought to aggravate acne.
~Stay away from foods containing hydrogenated oil (use olive oil instead, hydrogenated oil and trans-fatty acids are known to raise bad (LDL) chlorestrol levels and lower good (HDL) level. Most fast-food restaurants will use hydrogenated oil). Hydrogenated oil supposively aggravates acne as well.
~For acne: Stay away from eggs (yolks primarily) and dairy products (once again, milk free of the hormone "rBST" is ok). Although if you're dieting for weight loss, eggs are seen as beneifical.
~Stay away from very fatty meats (see below for recommend meat).
~I'd stay away from caffeine, switch to herbal tea's (ie: Green tea which is a free-radical fighter) if you insist something warm in the mornings. (caffeine is the most abused "drug" in America, the side effects are vague, but hint to linked to coronary disease).
Ahh, so many things not to eat huh? Well here are some really yummy nutritional foods:
~Tuna/Salmon (and other various fish). Try to stay away from shellfish because it is usually significantly higher in cholesterol. I really enjoy canned tuna (white albacore in water) or salmon (canned) mixed with ketchup! Get some whole-wheat bread and make yourself a nice sandwich, including: tomatos and lettuce.
~Salmon (Fresh) - I bake my salmon, although most would insit on poaching it. I really enjoy teriaki sauce as marinade but it contains lots of sugars. Therefore I would recommend something like lemon.
~Chicken! - yumm...Try to buy chicken breasts (if you can afford them, little more pricey) preferably manufactured by Zachy's (less hormones). If you can't find the Zachy's brand, go for Foster Farms. I recommend baking the chicken.
~Meat! - Try to buy prime beef (Little more pricey). Pick out a piece with considerably less fat. If you want ground beef, just ask the store clerk to cut off the fat and grind it for you. This is also debatable, since some beef contain hormones as well. Several people would recommend not eating meat for acne.
~Pastas? - Normally, I wouldn't recommend too much carbohydrate intake, but if you really love pasta, invest in whole wheat pasta. Try to use a natural pasta sauce if you can find one.
~Water helps "cleanse" the body and disposes the bad waste more easily. I recommend drinking a slighty flavored lemon water (half a lemon per liter). Lemon is high in Vit.C which is an anti-oxidant (fights free radicals). You can also try taking other concentrated vitamins, but I don't see them as very effective. The body doesn't recognize several vitamin supplements (concentrated, that are sold in capsules/tablets/powders) as food, therefore the vitamins aren't completely absorbed.
~Garlic - boosts the immune system by increasing natural killer cells and white blood cells. Some studies suggest that garlic helped stop the growth of cancer.
~Vitamins C&E - Along with several other supplements, these promote resistance to oxidative stress. Oxidative stress releases free radicals that can destroy healthy cells. Some studies have shown that a decrease in oxidative stress results in a weight loss. Stress is also known to cause acne.
~Mushrooms - Has been shown to improve immune responses in human blood.
Fish is probably the best type of food you can eat. It also contains EFA (essential fatty acids) like omega-3 and folic acid. These entrees make a delicious meal with frozen vegetables (try to get vegetables without potatoes or carrots).
Finally, maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Don't smoke.
Get enough rest (sleep). Adopt some type of sleep cycle. 8-10hours of sleep is recommended.
Exercise plenty and consistently.
Adopt a high-fiber, low-fat diet.
Let me know if you're going to adopt this diet, keep me updated on your status. I'll be happy to answer your questions.[/b]

This is my first post and I hope to help people.
I found a spanish site in 2003
http://www.ocvive.com/salud_y_familia/reme...reme_acne.shtml
they have a recipe to get rid off acne by juicing.
here is the translation.
The acne is a symptom that reflects the impurity of the body that it is trying to eliminate through the skin.
Ointments, creams and local remedies, without a doubt they help, but to eradicate it definitively, the best is to encourage to the body to wash up internally.
Three formulas are the indicated. Its recommendable to take each formula once a day, in addition to drink several natural glasses of water between meals.
The ideal is to take these juices for a minimum of 21 days in the meantime the body itself remineralize and sobers up . If you can drink it for 42 days is still better because that way it is guaranteed that It become the total renewal of the cells after the initial cleanliness of 21 days.
After this, you can drink only one formula as maintenance.
Formula 1:
Carrot and Spinach.
Formulate 2:
Carrot with celery and parsley.
Formulate 3:
Carrot, lettuce and spinach.
A daily spoonful of seeds ground of linseed to any of the juices could be added in order to clean the intestine.
You can add also Acidophilus's tablets in order to reconstruct the flora intestinal.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tried it time ago, and it worked!. I noticed that it helped my skin alot, but once i discontinue i had just little breaks out, but not like before.
ps:If yuo dont have all these vegetables, I recommend you only use carrots, thats what i did. Good luck.

Hi, my names Mark. I thought Id let you guys know how changing my diet has helped my acne.
In 7th grade I got mild acne, that slowly progressed into moderate acne in 8th grade. I was put on Benzamycin and that completely cleared me up for the next year.
In 10th grade, I started to break out again, and I was once again put on Benzamycin. This time, it didnt help as much. Yes, it did lessen my breakouts but my complexion was still terrible.
Then, I got mono. I lost my appetite and my face began to improve, but I didnt really notice anything. As my appetite returned, so did my acne.
Over Spring Break I took a trip to Las Vegas with my dad and I drank NO MILK at all. I didn't break out once. I drink milk all the time at home (Im addicted to Oreos) so when i realized that by not drinking it my face cleared, I knocked it out of my diet.
Now I only drink soy milk (Which I actually think tastes better than cows milk) and my face has never looked better! I used to be scared to look in the mirrors in the school bathroom because the flourescent lights would really show my bad complexion, but now I have no problem with doing so (unless I'm having a bad hair day).
I also started eating healthier and began to take a multivitamen. Im not sure if that affected my acne too, but all I know is that I'll never drink milk again!
I should also note that I did not go off Benzamycin during when my face started to clear up.
