I have noticed a large amount of posts pertaining to vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), with usually the same questions asked over and over agian. Therefore I have decided to make a thread with hopefully all the information someone would need to go on the supplement.
Dosage
First off, the thing that irks most people is the very high dosage that is needed of B5. In
Dr. Lit-Hung Leung's study the dosage that was mainly used is 10 grams. This is ideally how much you should take to get the best results. However, do not begin taking 10 grams right away. Your body needs to get used to the high intake of B5.
Since you will be taking 10 grams a day, it is best to buy Vitamin B5 in capsules that are 500mg each. 1000mg (milligrams) is equal to 1g (gram). Therefore, 2 pills is 1 gram.
-For the first 3 days, you will want to take a dosage of 5 grams a day. This is a total of 10 pills a day. It is good to have it spread out throughout the day, so it might be good to take 5 pills in the morning, and 5 pills at night.
-When the 3 days are up, you will be moving up the full 10 gram dosage. This will mean 20 pills a day. Again, you will want to have a steady supply of B5 throughout the day, so taking it in intervals is important. You will be taking 5 pills, 4 times a day. It is very key to be as consistent as you can.
-Keep taking the vitamin B5 for 3 months. I saw results after the 1st week, some people see first results after 2 weeks. After 3 months you should hopefully have clear skin. Make sure you take the b5 consistenly and EVERY DAY for 3 months.
(Note: Some people have an initial breakout. This can be caused from pre-existing pimples that are just pushing through. But keep with it, it WILL help you.)
-After your acne has finally cleared up, you will still want to continue taking B5, but not in such high doses. Maybe drop down to 5 grams a day. If you get more acne, increase your dosage immediately, and then adjust to a dosage where you do not break out. Overtime you can keep decreasing.
-Another point I would like to mention is to make sure you take vitamin B complex vitamins. Taking this much vitamin b5 might cause a deficiency in the other b vitamins. I just take 1 pill of the complex twice a day.
Possible Side Effects
The good thing about B5 is that it doesn't really have many side effects. Here is what most people have reported:
-Stomach irritation
-Mild or severe diarrhea
-Frequent bathroom visits
-Hairloss (rare) Some cases on message boards have reported hair loss but it isn't something I would worry about, and it definetly shouldn't keep you from taking B5.
-Increased appetite (I seem to always be hungry, I am eating lots more than I ever have before)
-Chapped lips
Personally, I had some stomach grumbling for the first few days. I went poop frequently, and farted a lot. But this pretty much went away after 5 days.
It is VERY GOOD to take your B5 with food. This will minimize diarrhea or stomach troubles.
B5 is water-soluble, so it is impossible to overdose on it. It is very, very safe. I read that it might not be the best idea to take it while pregnant or breast feeding.
How it works
Basically what the high doses of B5 do is create high amounts of Coenzyme-A. People with acne are lacking in the metabolism of fats. This is because they do not have enough Coenzyme-A in the body. The fats do not break down, but get deposited in your sebaceous (oil) glands and get secreted as sebum (oil). The p.acne bacteria feeds off of this sebum, and creates acne.
With all of this extra Coenzyme-A, all these fats can be broken down, and you do not have oily skin. Since you have a minimal amount of oil on your skin, no acne is produced (Hurray). Accutane also minimizes oil production, but it does so by shrinking your oil glands. The pantothenic acid doesn't need to shrink your oil glands, because it causes there to not be oil there in the first place. An extra bonus from pantothenic acid (B5) is that is makes your pores smaller. This results in making your skin smooth and good looking.
Where to get it
This is a department that some people have trouble in. You probably won't find it in super markets, or stores like CVS. You will need to find it in shops that are specialized in drugs or vitamins. This means stores like GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, etc. I personally get it from a local Vitamin Shoppe. Many times it will not be under the name B5, but Pantothenic Acid. Here is a
Vitamin Shoppe link of what their brand looks like. You can order it on their site if you want too. Note how it has 500mg capsules, and there are 300 of them. Make sure you buy a lot because they get used up quickly. Many people do not like the price, but it's worth it to get rid of your acne. So KEEP AT IT, clear skin is just around the corner.
I will probably update/edit this post where I see fit, or if I get asked to. Feel free to add any/all useful info.

This thread is under construction.
Previously titled Fish Oil Capsules, we've learned quite a bit since we've made this thread. Especially the effects and benefits of other oils in our diet. Also due to some mis-information, I've decided to re-make this thread. Keep checking back and I will have updated this thread as soon as possible. As you can imagine it takes a lot to write it up compiling everything we've learned.
It will be a separate page where you can navigate all the information in a concise order and will have pages setup for categories of information and research on particular nutrients/oils. Then of course a clear regimen and what it exactly does. It will only have information, no ads, no products, no links.
It will be like a thread, but with side pages for better organization.
So bare with me and I will have it ready after I work out a few kinks in the regimen.
Thank you!

Place holder for links to other recipe discussions and websites. There's been dozens of threads and they are always too hard to find. In fact, I can't find the threads I had in mind right now. So the links I've posted here aren't necessarily to the best threads. They are just the best of what I find when I search.
And to make it easier in the future, it would be nice if everyone would try to post to one of the already existing threads here.
Acne.org threads:Breakfast foodsGluten Free Recipe books Gluten-Free TimesHoliday Meal recipesAcne Free RecipesGreen SmoothiesSimple Ideas for ChickenHealthy food ideasVeggiesMore fruits and veggiesSalad IdeasDessert ideas and recipesOffsite:whfoods.org, where all the recipes prepare foods in the best way possible to preserve nutrients. Which, in the case of veggies, mostly means steaming or what they call healthy saute (in water) and topping them with what they call Mediterranean dressing (olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, S & P).
Eric Ripert's 'Get Toasted' blogFamous French chef posts recipes using a toaster oven. Fast, easy, healthy, simple, but with the little extra touches a French chef would add. Broiled fruit is really good desert substitute. Or breakfast. I used nectarines. I tried mangos, but didn't like it. Mangos have an aftertaste that got worse with cooking.

To All,
I've grown tired of the cynical debates, enjoyed the positive discussions, loved the research, heard the questions, sympathized with the confusion, felt the pain, and finally decided to compile a Resource Guide.
I hope that for those of you with questions, especially the Newbies, you will look to this guide as one of your references.
Now first of all, this is a guide dealing with the development of acne, how diet can play a role, and how leaky gut syndrome (intestinal hyperpermeability) may be at the base of it.
This is NOT a guide discussing or debating "healthy" or why there "isn't enough supportive evidence" to make this a valid form of treatment!
This guide will provide information, tips, support, options, and other resources and tools necessary in order to make following an individualized Acne Diet and/or healing your Leaky Gut a less confusing, HEALTHY, and fun transition.
Furthermore, aside from a few key threads, this will be a predominantly focused on solutions . Answers to what foods to eat, what diets to follow, what tests to take, gut healing regimens etc. There will also be a links section for anyone searching for more in-depth information on this board or elsewhere.
Of course I would greatly appreciate it if any of you (especially you cleansing & healing gurus) that are currently following a specific diet or holistic regimen, that has not been mentioned yet, to chime in and share the following:
Dos & Don’ts of the Diet
(Brief History of the diet)
Customized Diet Regimen
Gut Healing Regimen
Personal Testimony
Etc
As a forewarning, negative comments and arguments about these methods may be edited or removed! This is a positive energy and supportive thread, A Safe Haven, and ALL are welcome to participate if keeping the above in mind. This thread will deal in the possibilities and capabilities of a new improved lifestyle instead of continually focusing on the cants.
I acknowledge that there are different levels of "healthy", but for reasons of sanity and affordablity this thread will be focused on a certain level of healthy in regards to obtaining the proper amount of nutrition & variety while keeping in mind an individual’s diet. Please be aware when speaking of your own diet or holistic regimen that you don’t downplay what works for someone else.
Finally, I’ve come to realize that one of the biggest obstacles regarding an improved lifestyle is that a percentage of us have no clue what’s sold in the produce isle! No clue as to how to pick produce, let alone how to properly prepare them and cook them. No clue just how many different kinds of food exist in the world in comparison to what their current diet consists of. Nor do people FULLY realize that when one door closes several more open. Hopefully this thread will awaken more of you to just how much more you really DO have as a result!
Peace & Love!

Anyway..i'm wondering. how much do u guys take/how do u take it? my flaxseed oil has 2.5 grams of omega 3 in 5 ml.

I've only joined this group to post this solution that worked so beautifully on my son. I discovered it after years of taking my son to dermatologists, putting him on antibiotics, etc. I hearing, “Try this for 6 to 8 weeks to see if it’s working.” This treatment works in a few days and is harmless. Apply a hot, wet compress 2 to 3 times a day for about 10 minutes each time. We just fold up a paper towel to the right size, run it under hot water, and hold it over the spots, keeping a tub of hot water nearby to refresh it when it cools. After that, you can put on whatever seems to be “helping" if you want. It works wonders, and you will see results in a few days, not a few weeks!

So in yet another attempt to rid my face of acne, I started the Candida Diet around two months ago and started supplementing myself with some vitamins and minerals.
I have completely cut all dairy, refined grains, processed sugars (I still eat fruit), and vegetable oil from my diet. I rarely eat anything unless I have made it myself and I know exactly what it is in.
I also take: Lechtin, Vitamin A, B-Complex, Zinc, and Vitamin E. PLUS Udo's Oil Omega 3-6-9.
MY QUESTION IS THIS:
Does anyone know if after eating this way and consuming these vitamins, there is supposed to be a purging period of the skin? You know, something similar to the retinoids?
It seems like all my deep acne is coming to the surface, which....I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Like, am I making my acne worse?
I don't think I will stop this diet or the supplementation, only because I find my energy and emotional level has been much better since I cut processed foods.
However, I am worried that if this is NOT a purging, than it's just my acne getting ready to step up the game and make my life hell. Which is entirely possible, because that is what my acne does.
Any thoughts?

been taking 1.5 grams of b5, one b complex and 500mg of taurine.
seeing phenomenal results.
However, one thing I'm concerned about is how my urine amount has decreased quite drastically despite drinking the same mount of water if not more.
Most people have reported that they experience the opposite, having copious amounts of pee.
Its also sickly yellowish which from my experience, is from the b complex but i could be wrong.
Could someone with the expertise shed some light as to why this is happening? Its doing great for me and I would hate to give it up for some unconfirmed fear of organ damage.
Please help.

Hey guys I am trying to figure out whether Im still insulin resistant or not. I have been getting my blood tests checked for my accutane and i know he checks fasting sugar levels and my sugar is fine is this the same thing as checking fasting insulin to tell whether im still insulin resistant or not?
Reason being, I have been eating so healthy I no longer know if I cured it or not...thanks!!

Yep, no longer am i going to wash my face. I have had great success with the caveman diet in the past but my skin was still flakey/little dry at times..I think it was the water or something.
I'm now back on the diet and starting my new "regimen".
When i was clear, i NEVER washed my face (even with water!). It's time to make my skin normal again.
Let the healing begin!

Now I've read a few of the threads here that relate to the (possible/plausible/likely) connection between diet and acne, and I was curious to ask you guys what you thought of my own situation--particularly, whether my acne may be related to extreme diet changes.
The reason I ask here is because I brought this up with my dermatologist, and they essentially poo-pooed the possibility that there's any connection between acne and diet (in a general sense, not just in my own situation). But I feel that it's VERY LIKELY that my diet is related to my current acne situation, and this is why:
As a teen I never had an acne problem, but I gradually became about 60-70 lbs overweight as a result of lack of exercise and poor diet. I became fed up with this about two years ago, and started the Atkins Diet. I was so excited with the results over the first couple months, that I went a bit extreme with it (one month I ate only hotdogs for the entire month and lost about 15 lbs during that month alone--unhealthy and irresponsible, I know). Altogether I lost about 80 lbs, before I got down to around 150 lbs (about 10 lbs under my recommended weight for my height). Now, this is where I think diet came into my acne problem. I began to experience an outbreak of acne around February of this past year, which was a month after I stopped the dieting, and had begun putting back on weight rather quickly. As my acne worsened, I realized that the salves, over-the-counter and even prescription medication I was on weren't doing much, but that the only thing I could do to curb the outbreaks (that is, not stop them completely, but keep them managable), was to restrict my diet again.
I'm currently on Accutane (but this is not an Accutane-related question, which is why I posted it here), and I've noticed that the same thing has begun to happen. My acne cleared up for a month or so, but now the only way I can curb my outbreaks is to again restrict my diet. Usually by eating only one meal a day.
I have trouble believing that diet has nothing to do with acne because everytime I eat, immediately afterwards I can feel the oil seeping out onto my face again. When I eat fast food, it's particularly bad.
I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar to this? And if so, whether they'd recommend anything? Laying off certain foods? Reading through certain important threads here on the forum that I may have overlooked? Any help is of course welcomed.

Hi, as my antibiotics don't seem to be doing much anymore, I have started taking vitamins for my acne. I am particularly curious about how much Vitamin A to take.
Right now I am taking...
Vitamin A / 15000 IU per day
Zinc / 40 mg per day
Iron / 25 mg per day
As well as some Niacin, Vitamin B6, Copper, Iodine and Calcium.
I have been doing a lot of looking around to see how much vitamin A one should take to combat acne. Some sites say not to take more that 10,000 IU per day while others say to take 50,000 for acne. (I think it partially has to with where the vitamin A is derived from.)
I have only been taking these supplements for 3 days and so far my skin doesn't seem to be as oily, but I haven't had any other improvements yet. (But I know it will take time.)
For others who are taking vitamins, how much do you take?
Thank you!
Ali

Does anyone know if Soya milk affects acne? I don't like the normal milk unless it's mixed in yoghurts or cakes, or things like that where I can't taste it, so I drink Soya milk. My spots are bigger nowadays and i'm wondering if soya Milk could be a reason?

I recently saw Deepak Chopra on Conan O'Brien the other night. I was relaxed by his voice and was intrigued by his breathing methods. So i looked him up on google, then on to youtube! So i saw this one particular string of videos on meditation and its benefits, and the benefits sounded just fantastic.
I have also read/heard that reduced stress can lead to less breakouts.
I am 17 and i am sure that my acne is hereditary because my dad had horrible cystic acne from teens into 20's and he has scars still today (he is 55). I also think my acne is a result of puberty and overactive sebacious glands. I have read enough on it and other ridiculous causes like diet and crap. Enough of that, I'm an athlete and I eat right and exercise more than enough (and yes water). And stress i know plays a huge role in this hopefully temporary phase of my life. I am 17, hence school, hence a TON OF HOMEWORK, hence less sleep, hence stress! So i know meditating would relieve my problems and stress.
Does anybody know about this topic of meditating pertaining to acne?
Has anybody tried this method and seen results (negative or positive)?

i'm 20 years old and i was blessed with very few pimples in high school...i'd get a couple bumps and maybe a zit or 2 once in a while, but it was no big deal.
for some reason 2 months ago i started to break out really bad on my jaw and a little bit on my cheeks and neck.
i had been mixing aspirin in my face wash before this and that kept my skin really nice.
i stopped for a while and thats when the acne got bad. so i tried starting the aspirin wash again and it didn't do anything. i tried BP and it just aggravated my skin.
usually my skin would clear up if i drank a ton of water, but that didn't help either.
so i decided to try wiping ACV on my face after i washed it and it immediately helped. i also used this tea tree oil spot treatment stuff (roll on)
after a few days my face was really clearing up
then i spent the night at a friends for one night and missed the ACV treatment...
2 days later here i am with a horrible, painful breakout on my jaw again...and a few painful ones on my cheeks. 2 of them on my jaw are cyst-like
is that part of the purging?
i also started to drink the acv a few days ago....

Everyone knows the liver is the filter system of the body. I'm debating doing a liver cleanse. I'm sure my liver hates me.
I used to be into partying and did lots of drugs, etc., which i no longer do. I wonder how much that has debilitated my liver. All my friends tell me that after nights of partying or drinking, they notice changes in their skin.
I also just got into a major accident about a month ago, which got me into the hospital for a week, and they were pumping me with morphine and dilaudid, and then i had to take vicodin for one or two weeks after that. My skin is a mess and has gotten ten times worse than normal. My skin is constantly awful, actually, and a big part of me attributes it to my liver.
I also take other medications, which i am trying to get off of. I've decided to get off all medication, although I am going to see a derm soon and ask about accutane (irony, isn't it, my wanting to cleanse my liver and yet take accutane)
i'm wondering if anyone else thinks the same about the liver or what their thoughts are on it.

Ive been holding out on making this post for a while, because I wanted to be sure.
As some of you may have read, from my many posts on the subject I have been relying on accutane to keep my skin clear for the last 2.5-3years. First with two normal courses and up till recently micro dosing with less than 5mg/day. Before that Ive been dealing with acne since about 9th grade of high school and I have let it wreak havoc on my life in so many ways.
Ive been frantically looking for an alternative to my accutane addiction for a long time, which is why I check this board multiple times a day (very bad habit). Ive tried the gamut of suppliments from DIM to PGX and nothing has helped, I even tried the coffee enemas LOL! I know that I should probably be on a highly restrictive diet, Ive known this for a long time, but I simply don't have the discipline and love my food too much. I don't like the idea of having to revolve my life and diet around acne, even though I still do in a lot of ways. I even had a food allergy test done, because I thought that if I had doctor telling me not to eat the stuff I know I shouldn't it would be easier, but yeah, that worked for all of two weeks.
SO what Ive been doing lately is eating a regular diet, with way too many grains and large portions (not proud of this) drinking sugary alcohol drinks on weekends and getting some pretty irregular sleep (I'm a senior in architecture, give me a break). Now its been over a month since my last 10mg pill and normally by this time my Oil would be back, my nose would be prickled by huge blackheads and a couple cysts would be forming about a centimeter under my lip. But low and behold, I am staying clear. My skin is not oily, my blackheads are just a little worse then when I'm on tane (which is still pretty bad, but I can deal) and I have had no sign of a cyst. I still get the odd blemish, but nothing worth dwelling over, which doesn't take much for me.
How did I do it? Well I'm not a hundred percent sure, I'm not even sure if its safe to say I did it yet, but I will tell you what I'm doing.
The most important ingredient I believe is Resveratrol. I am taking the same dose, from the same company as the poster at the end of
this thread and after two weeks of doing this I noticed my skin getting better. I really think this is the silverbullet, I'm not 100 percent sure why, but I'd recomend reading the wiki page on it as it supposedly has the ability to drastically lower the insulin response from food, which as we all seem to think has a great deal to do with acne. Besides this there are a great many other supposed health benefits so even if it doesn't help your skin it might help you in other ways.
I buy the 50% pills from mega resveratrol and take 4 a day, just like the other poster. This ends up being 2 grams of t-resveratrol and a little over a dollar a day. Don't try and take less than this, I did and it didn't work. I really recommend reading through the thread I linked to and I honestly want to kiss the kid who posted about his experience. I thought he was a shill at first and that his story was to be too good to be true, because that's how everything is when your dealing with acne. It really makes me want to cry just entertaining the idea that Ive come across a long term solution that doesn't require a drastic lifestyle change.
Another thing Ive been doing that I don't think has had as great of an impact as the resveratrol, although I can't be sure as I started the two at practically the same time, is water therapy. Even if this isn't helping my skin, it seems to just make my days better and makes me feel more healthy in general. It is supposed to aid in digestion, so that might be why.
http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Water-Therapy-t213671.htmlAnyway, I hope that this can help some of you and I'm sorry about the bloated description but, hey,
THIS IS AN EXTREMELY BIG DEAL TO ME. Hopefully my stay here is coming to an end and I can forget about this acne shit and this addictive and I hate to say poisonous, (albeit occasionally enlightening) website forever.

just want to cover some bases for the concept of how your body would start to heal itself.
1.Exposure time to total darkness/good sleep habitsdarkness is a signal to your body to start the rest/repair process, ive just read a great book
http://www.amazon.com/Lights-Out-Sleep-Sug...l/dp/0671038680 by the way, the authors are way overeducated so they have some amazing things to say, this book is almost revolutionary.
but apparently many of the major diseases and killers of people can be linked to our exposure to dark and light cycles,as a society we are essentially addicted to light which is a major change in the environment humans have evolved in.
This book suggests ensuring total darkness for about ten hours straight for maximum health. Basically when the sun goes down, you should be asleep, and when the sun comes up, you should be awake. if it is dark and you are awake minimize your exposure to light so that you spend enough time in the dark, this would signal a greater amount of melatonin to be produced, melatonin can eliminate many forms of cancer and also darkness can control many of your other hormones as well, melatonin is just the tip of the iceberg. Testosterone and estrogen levels all have an influence on your exposure to darkness and light.
Read the book, these guys are hella smart as well as formally educated people. its probably at your local library, or buy it as it is worth every penny.
recent edit:But its all about melatonin, ive also read a book written by some more super smart people called the melatonin miracle
http://www.amazon.com/Melatonin-Miracle-Ag...g/dp/0671534351 apparently nature has many things right, melatonin is being discovered to be one of the most if not the most powerful antioxident known as of yet, it protects cells and dna from all sort of damage which is basically what many disease are, mistakes in the dna. but also it there is a possibility that melatonin can actually repair the dna damage, such as melatonins ability to return cancer cells to normal, cancer cells are cells that have lost their memory or set of instructions on how to reproduce themselves normally, melatonin eliminates the free radicals that can damage the cell and also can travel into the cell nucleus to repair it, so it can divide normally again.
2. mental stress/physical bodily tension/MeditationI combined all of these because they are all related, your mind is connected to your body, and therefore they can be veiwed as one system, each affecting the other. This becomes apparent when people become majorly stressed and stress hormones change your physiology and cause tightend muscles and tension all throught the body, but this is due to what is going on in the mind, and even further in your life or of your perception of your life, so your life situations are also your health as well, all is connected.
A.Meditation Through meditation you learn to let go of things and in some ways this will alter your perception of events and reality. But what meditation does when done right is simulate a state of extreme mental relaxation, as if you have everything you need and need no more, as if you were not even concious of your own lifes issues or even perhaps who you even are, completly losing conciousness of self to achieve pure uncluttered conciousness, this is also giving your mind an opportunity to feel like you dont have anything to do, and the more you have convinced your mind everything is alright, you feel 100 percent safe, 100% loved your whole body and mind follows and begins to rest completly.
I specifically use what is called a technique most similar to Transcendental Meditation which includes repeating a mantra and bathing your mind in sound vibrations. you can use the word "aum" with a long emphasis on the "mmmm" part or the "auuu" part , play around with both and sense the difference in vibrations. Do this for at least 5 minutes, 10 minutes is best 2x a day. also i think in my head certain things to initiate this state of being like to eliminate worry about the future
-everything is going to be alright from now on
- who is to say anything is ever wrong with anything about me or my life, to dispell and guilt about who i am and realize the one truth of existence, dispell subjective interpretations of who you are or accepting anyone else reality or take on how you should feel about anything at all, who is to say there is anything wrong with having acne?? all this stuff is REALLY up to you as if you were the only person on earth, you would eliminate all subjective interpretations of reality or what anything ever IS, there is no subjective good or bad, right or wrong, things just are things.
- since i can never predict what is to come tomorrow, then im justified in assuming things will just work out, is its just as equal of a possibility as any other. saying this or realizing this helps me to stop worrying.
- i also repeat to myself that all the bad times are over now and i envision a return to a time when my life seemed absolutly perfect, i guess this is a form of visualization but it is sometimes effective.
whatever it takes to get you into that state of being where you have eliminated all thought and achieve absolute stillness of mind is the whole goal. As your mind becomes still so does your body, once you reach this state your breath slows down, you consume less oxygen, then your repair process and health speeds up.
B. Physical Relaxation Here is a bodily relaxation technique i learned from a book called relief without drugs by anslie meares
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ainslie_MearesThis was one of his techniques in a program that lead to the remission of cancer which he reported to a legitimate scientific journal, take note that is was reported and not proven, at least to my knowledge, so i cant make any promises as to what this would do to anyone but it is highly likely there is some great benefits.
This exercise helps your body relax
basically you tighten various muscle groups for 20 seconds, usually starting with your feet and calves, then release for 20 seconds then do the opposing muscle group and work every muscle group in your body all the up to your neck and i even blow air in my cheeks and expand my lips and cheeks and even tighten my jaw as well, try doing this with every single muscle group and an intense bodily relaxation with or at least should come over you, after doing this once correctly you will have all the proof you need, do not let my words alone by of any proof of its effectiveness you cannot make a decision based on my words alone.
So ive been doing meditation for about a week or two now, and the body exercise for a couple days, and just last night i attempted to get as much darkness as possible and will be doing all of these things for the next 3 months to see what happens, probably for the rest of my life regardless i will do it, but im hoping this will improve my acne a bit, im already seeing some results, but im not expecting anything more then just feeling healthier, if it does something for my acne well thats great too. But really i just want to feel good and feel healthy.
As a suggestion, i start with the body tension exercise then a stretch every muscle in my body then i massage every muscle in my body, then i meditate. By doing the bodily stuff first that prepares my mind better for the mental parts which are sometimes more challenging, but as the body becomes relaxed the mind many times follows suit.
you can also think of this training as a sort of life conditioning as well, keeping yourself in a relaxed state, as sometimes we react towards stressors as if they are going to harm us in some life threatening way, but in reality your life is in no danger whatsoever, after a while this is you normal response, a response of absolute tension toward some trivial detail of life, and as your mind and body makes a habit of it you can always be in this state or at least more then you would prefer to be. You reset the wiring of your brain to calm, almost like practicing for a musical performance so you condition your fingers to respond in the correct fashion almost automatically, the same will be in this practice of relaxation, because after all the stress you've been through as of yet, you are still alive arent you?? we are so unbelievably safer then we have convinced ourselves to be, its ridiculous.
Now as you become more relaxed your immune system will strengthen and your hormones will be better balanced.
I hope this was helpful new information for you.

Alright everyone if you're struggling with acne go on this sample diet for a week and a half and your acne will be almost completely gone; even if it is severe. I'll tell you exactly what to avoid if you feel the need to cheat. You don't have to believe me or try this, but please don't post saying that this doesn't work without trying it, because frankly it works!
Alright so I'll start with the foods you can eat freely without any worry of them causing acne, so if you are broken out right now and are hungry, you don't have to be fearful or paranoid of food. You can eat carrots, celery, organic iceberg lettuce, organic baby spinach/arugula/mixed greens, olive oil, salt, frank's hot sauce and coconut oil with no acne whatsoever. I recommend eating only these foods for the first 4 days if you really want to see results within a short period of time. If you live with people who question you about extreme diets you've tried, here is a recipe that I use when people around me are cooking or looking at me like I'm in the middle of some secret fasting.
Stir-fry wraps
Take a potato peeler and slice a medium carrot and a couple stalks of celery into ribbons. Cut some carrot and celery into small chunks for texture.
Grab a head of ORGANIC iceberg lettuce and chop of the bottom third of it (cut off the stem and most of the white lettuce stalk off and discard).
CAREFULLY peel away three of the larger leaves of lettuce.
Grab some coconut oil (I use South Pacific organic extra virgin..it tastes great and doesn't cause a burning sensation in my throat like Omega Nutrition brand seems to).
Put a frying pan on low heat and melt about a teaspoon of the coconut oil, only once all your ingredients are chopped and ready to go. Try to avoid heated foods altogether.
Place the carrot and celery ribbons and chunks into the melted oil and stir with a silicon spatula frequently. The idea is just to soften the veggies SLIGHTLY. You want them still to be quite crunchy (cooking is just for taste).
Turn off the heat and add a couple drops of hot sauce. Don't over do it, you just want a little flavour. Hot sauce won't break you out, but it isn't particularly good for you.
Take the spatula and scoop out some stir-fried veggies into your lettuce wraps and roll them up.
Eat them! I put a little salt on every bite.
During the day it is wise to eat raw veggies. You'd be surprised how satisfying a large raw carrot and celery stalk can be. When you are hungry, a good rule is stick to these two foods together. Fruit breaks me out (even tomatoes and cucumber), but carrots are fine. The salty taste of celery goes really well. It's no milk and cookies but just try it for 4 days and see whats up.
For supper another night, make a big salad with organic baby spinach, mixed greens or arugula and organic lettuce. You can use salt liberally and even some Frank's hot sauce if you want. A good thing to remember is that fats are really satisfying. I can easily overeat without enough fat.
You can snack on no-sugar pickles or olives when you feel like you might eat a cake or something. After a couple days you can have a good teaspoon of Kraft smooth peanut butter on carrot sticks or celery sticks. The idea is to have more veggies than peanut butter in every bite.
If you can find dark Lindt chocolate (I'm talking about 80% or more), you can have 2 squares of that in one sitting. Don't over do it. The idea is to eat foods in this paragraph only if you are feeling deprived. Try not to eat more than one of these foods at any one time.
Okay so that's it! Try the stir fry only once a day and ditto for the snack foods I listed. Do not be afraid of carrots, celery, orgainc lettuce, organic greens, coconut oil, olive oil, hot sauce or salt.
Whole nuts of any kind, meat and fish of any kind, dairy of any kind, grains of any kind, beans of any kind and pretty much anything that is white can cause a breakout. These foods will break you out less if you eat them with fats in small quantities, but any time I eat any of these foods I get at least one clogged pore...so annoying.
This is what keeps me clear, with no inflammation, itchiness or stress. It is limited, but the amount of confidence and happiness I get with the skin from this diet is insane. If you are wondering if some food will break you out, a good rule is if it is white, don't eat it. If you have to cook it, don't eat it. If you are going to cheat, eat the most bland food like the topping of cold pizza or a couple kidney beans. The idea is small quantities like every three days.
Feel free to list your diet or a recipe you like that you are 100% sure will never break you out. Feel free to write a long-winded detailed list of foods that are safe and how you prepare them.
Let me know how this works out for you!

http://howiclearedmyacne.blogspot.com/check out that guy's website, esp the before and after pics. he is just some random college kid in cali who is not trying to sell any products.
i think it took himabout 6-8 months to clear up-- but the change in his complexion is amazing.
the only thing i suggest is do NOT ingest fruits if you are trying to beat candida-- maybe at a later point, but at the beginning just avoid sugar COMPLETELY.
I've been doing the 'anti candida' diet for about 3 weeks now and my face has never looked better. I will post some before/after pics up soon I hope. Redness is almost nonexist, just have a few red marks and old scars but they seem to be fading. Just realize that this method can take months to do. It aint easy.

I went on a 3-day juice fast a while back that took away a lot of my weight. I have finally gained it back now and want to let you all know that you DO NOT have to eat acne-irritating foods to get muscle. Despite popular belief, you can build muscle without an intake of 500 grams of protein and 6,000 cals a day.
My diet is so basic and easily followed by anyone.
Diet (I am not including any of the water I drink because I basically am ALWAYS drinking water)
whey protein shakes (I do two-three of these a day) (one scoop, 30g of protein)
snack on a mixture of nuts nuts (pistachios, cranberries, almonds, granola, and cherries)
I eat a HUGE salad that has chicken breast mixed in (I'll post a pic)... I eat about two of these a day.
1 cup (not the measurement cup, but like a drink cup) of fruit per huge salad. Usually I have melons, pineapple, or peaches.
And that is it.
Also, this diet is only followed 4 days out of the week. Monday through Thursday.
On Friday through Sunday, I eat whatever I feel like.

I have read various ways to get rid of parasites in your intestines but what about specific organs?
I am almost positive I have parasites in my liver, I don't drink and have had a healthy diet in place for a long time. I have very dark circles under my eyes, poor skin, and I have lost large amounts of weight without changing my amount of exercise or caloric intake.
The weight lose occurred as my acne reached it's peak (were it currently is) and the circles under my eyes also got worse during this period. The pieces fit together perfectly in my mind.
