Hi everyone! I'm pathetic_26 and I'm a college student. Obviously, the reason why I joined acne.org is because I have mild-moderate acne. My family had a history of acne and it was passed on to me. They're so many! They practically invading my face especially the cheeks and the upper neck portion. I had acne once but it managed to disappear by visiting a good dermatologist. This is the third time my acne reappeared. What's even worse is that school is going to start on Monday and I still have terrible acne! I'm really scared of the insults, prejudice and of course, the humiliation I'm about to go through. I revisited my old dermatologist on May 23 and I just had my second session last week (I should have started the session on April but my acne wasn't really acting up so I ignored it).
So far here are the prescriptions I have: A.M: 1 capsule of F2F or Face to Face (Praventin) Wash soap called Tincture of Green Soap Clindamycin Benzoyl Peroxide with Erythromycin Cream AM/PM Tetralysal 300mg P.M 1 capsule of F2F or Face to Face Wash soap called Tincture of Green Soap Clindamycin Retinoic Cream 0.05% What is the estimated time acne will disappear? I'm really scared. I was planning not to go to school for a week to save myself from embarassment and so that I can have another session during the time. |

Hello and welcome to the org!
Honestly, I am sorry to break this to you, but there is no exact timeline when it comes to acne medications. Some of them have suggested amounts of time for a product to begin working, but the general rule is to wait at least a month for results. Antibiotics may also take a bit longer to work, anywhere from 1-3 months to see results. Retinoids take at least 12 weeks to show results, so all I can urge you is to have patience and maybe visit the mild/moderate acne forum and the prescription medications forum, because there is a lot of good information regarding each of these products.

hhhmmm...will I be able to see big improvements of the second month? I'm really desperate to get rid of this acne. It's becoming a nightmare. I've always been stared at by many people that's why I always keep my head down. I've been isolating myself in my house since I visited my Dermatologist. I've been really looking forward for some pricking, injections and such. For me, it's the quickest way to get rid of acne. But for more permanent results, I have to take antibiotics as well. And I think, after a few months, my dermatologist will prescribe me with Acnetrex (she prescribed it to me once but I never took it.) Acnetrex will likely to permanently disappear your acne for good. But there's some catch to it: There are serious side effects such as dry lips, headaches etc. and ALL YOUR ACNE WILL REALLY SHOW UP ESPECIALLY DURING THE FIRST MONTH INTAKE! And to buy Acnetrex, it has to be waived first before purchasing so that there'll be an understanding that you know the effects of taking Acnetrex. I'm having second thoughts about taking Acnetrex. I don't want ALL my acne to show up on my face. I'm currently embarassed as it is! I really hate acne!

Hi pathetic_26 and zoe24,
Did the F2F help? My new derm has prescribed this to me. I haven't seen reviews about it online so I'm quite hesitant. I've already taken isotretinoin before but zits are now back, although not as bad, it's still quite depressing. I'm planning to purchase the capsules today, but I'm not too sure if I should.. Hope to hear from you guys! This post has been edited by lizard: Nov 7 2009, 02:43 AM |
