I've never really had an issue with acne on my neck. I will get a few pimples around my jawline but that's about it, except for now. A few weeks ago my neck just starting breaking out like crazy and still is and now I'm having new acne plus the red marks from the old acne. What the heck is causing this all of a sudden? I'm a 21 year old female and I use salicylic acid wash 2x a day on my face and now my neck.
Thanks!

I have only been getting cysts on my neck over the past few months. What's weird is that 2 years ago, when the acne on my face was at it's worst (it was vile) I didn't have a single spot on my neck. Now I have them across my jawline and coming past my ear.
I think stress from exams may have caused them except they're still here 2 months after finishing...so when did everyone else develop neck acne and what do you think was the cause?

Hey everyone, great to have this board to come to!
I was just wondering, can you put BP on your neck? I have acne round my jawline and top of neck near glands, so is it safe to put BP on here? It won't get into the glands or anything, will it? (paranoid, I know!).
I am thinking of starting 2.5% BP, and doing some light therapy also.

I have 1 cyst on my neck that has been there for a really long time and nothing seems to work on it. There is no opening or anything so popping it isn't an option. What should I use to get rid of it?

I've never had neck acne until a few months ago. I think putting on acne medication contributed to it though I'm not sure. What do you guys suggest to get rid of it. I've been putting retin-a micro .04% and clindamycin gel on it. It seems to be improving but then I'll get another zit. I've been trying to be light on the medication because I think the neck is a really sensitive area. Maybe I'm still putting too much on.

Has anyone experienced small break outs especially where the chin area is. More cystic but small for the 1st month or 2? How long does it take before your body gets used to the pill and is it worth it?
 |
|
Finacea
Did anyone see any results?

I will start this regimen tonight. (I hope it works, plz God!)
Does anyone know how long it takes take before you see any type of results? I just have small heat bumps everywhere. I think from stres and just starting BCP's.

First of all - I'm very happy to see this subforum opened. My neck acne has ALWAYS been different from the acne on my face and body.
I've had a bunch of cysts on my neck for 6 months I think. I was trying so many things - TCA peels, glycolic acid, mandelic acid.
Recently, no new pimples have surfaced. What did I do?
Well - NOTHING. Stopped putting so many chemicals on it. I moisturized and put vaseline on the individual spots.
To me, this was a shock because it was the total opposite of what I was doing. Sometimes, your skin needs to be left alone in order to fix itself.

I need some advice. I am 47 and I am still battling cystic acne on my neck of all places. This is so embarassing, especially at my age. I have used BP in varying strengths w/ limited success. I have used Nucelle mandelic acid exclusively since Sept. of 2008. My opinion it is no worse or better than when I used BP. I do not want to go on accutane. Not only do I have to battle cysts on my neck, sometimes this results in my neck looking like crap, because this also results in drying of my neck so I look like crap w/ the dry, flakey skin w/ cysts. I hate having to worry about wrinkles and acne. Is there anyone else that battles this type of acne on their neck ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Dan recommends using the same regimen for acne on the front of the neck that is used for facial acne...cleansing, 2.5% bp, and moisturizing. Has anyone used Dan's regimen for acne on the front of the neck? If so, what were you results?

Hi, I have been getting acne on my neck again. By all means I am super frustrated. Right now I am using nothing on my neck, but washing with Dove unscented bar soap for sensitive skin. I do take 500 mg of Ampicillin twice a day. Mostly I get these tiny little bumps and the occasional nodule. I just got one yesterday that is right under my chin. As I don't have much of a regimen for this area of my body does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I already have a galore of redmarks and I don't see how they are going to get better if I keep getting new ones. This is such a sensitive part of the body and so hard to treat that I would really like to hear suggestions of what has and hasn't worked for others. If things don't improve I will go to the derm again. Thanks for your help!

Okay, i've been dealing with neck acne for a while. Actually, 90% of all my acne is on my neck. Whiteheads, pustules, and fucking cysts.. and my neck is COVERED with them. Before i had like 20-25 "active" pustules and cysts on my neck, but now it's down to like a couple of cysts and some pustules and i attribute that to cutting out dairy and soy.
Anyway, to cut to the chase, even though i'm slowly clearing up, i still get sebum plugs from my neck. Does this happen to anyone else? I'm talking about the thin areas of the neck like around the adam's apple.
I don't understand why i get acne mostly on my neck. It's really strange.
