Hi, I have been getting acne on my neck again. By all means I am super frustrated. Right now I am using nothing on my neck, but washing with Dove unscented bar soap for sensitive skin. I do take 500 mg of Ampicillin twice a day. Mostly I get these tiny little bumps and the occasional nodule. I just got one yesterday that is right under my chin. As I don't have much of a regimen for this area of my body does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? I already have a galore of redmarks and I don't see how they are going to get better if I keep getting new ones. This is such a sensitive part of the body and so hard to treat that I would really like to hear suggestions of what has and hasn't worked for others. If things don't improve I will go to the derm again. Thanks for your help!

Just thought I'd share that I did go to the derm. He suggested switching from Ampicillin (which I've been on for six months) to Solodyn. He also said not to use any topicals besides benzoyl peroxide as these may be too irritating for the front of the neck.
I haven't made the switch yet. Am a little hesitant. Any feedback is always welcomed. |

I don't know, but you mentioned you use Dove, and Dove really wasn't helping my body breakouts at all. I switched to Phisoderm Body Wash and it does contain Saliciylic (sp?) acid in it. It's helped a little, but I'm seeing a derm on Monday to help with the problem. The Phisoderm helped with the back and chest a little bit, but stopping the Dove I was using I noticed made a difference.

Thank you for the response! I was thinking the same thing about the Dove so I switched my cleanser to Cerave Hydrating cleanser. I like it a lot, but it's good to know about the Phisoderm. My breakouts are getting worse, but the derm said it'd take 4-8 weeks to see results with the Solodyn and I've only been on it for almost three weeks. Can you let me know what your derm tells you after Monday?
