This is just a small request to have moved posts not show up in their original forum. To me it just seems to add a lot of clutter to the forums, especially with a forum such as this where there are a ton of new threads (mostly without much useful/new content).

I know with other forum software (vBulletin) when moving a thread you can choose to not have the redirect show in the original forum, or to have it show temporarily. I imagine this is an option with IP.Board. What do the mods/admins think?

We generally leave a link in the forum the thread was originally posted in so that the OP and others who have posted in the thread can find it. I understand that there are a quite a few 'moved thread' links, but it cuts down on the confusion over where people's threads have gone.

I think people like to know where their threads have gone.

True, but isn't that why there's the View Topics feature in the control panel? Then again, if someone's posting in the wrong area completely I doubt they even know that feature exists...

I can pretty much guarantee that if we didn't leave links, there would be a crop of new threads entitled "where did my post go?"

I think the best solution is to have thread starters post in the right forums instead of just grabbing the first off the list wink.gif.
