Bactrim DS 180mg-160
Benzaclin w/ pump 5%-1% Epiduo gel .1%-2.5% I was on micro retin-a for a little over a year. It definitely helped clear up my skin but I'm getting more break outs now. The derm wanted to prescribe me accutane right away, I resisted, so the list above is what I got. Haven't gotten them yet. He gave just 1 refill for each. Any input? I'll update this post after I've done the meds for a month.

What insurance do you recommend when it comes to paying for acne prescriptions? Any college students here paying for individual insurance that covers these prescriptions? Also bypasses the pre-existing condition clause?

Something that has always worried me about success is my acne. In our society (US) we have the obvious concept that beautiful people are more successful. Generally, this is true-beautiful people obviously have an easier time with getting a job because of their looks. But just now I was thinking that this whole theory is way overboard, and we shouldn‘t let it weigh down our ambitions as much as the media wants it to. Every so often I see photos of business people who are in charge of major corporations or are involved with politics, and most of the time they are no where near attractive. Living in the American society, we are constantly fed photos of celebrities and musicians who are of “high standard beauty.” Yes, the celebrities and musicians are successful and making good money-but who is truly successful? The beautiful celebrities or the common looking business people who are running the film companies that host the movies? They are both making good money, but we see the celebrities much more than the president of MGM or Universal, and therefore believe that beauty is what success solely depends on. There’s a lot of unattractive people in America who are making bookoo bucks that we never hear about, or see.
It’s interesting how when most people, and me to a certain extent, will look at a magazine and see the pretty face on the cover and associate that person with “being the magazine.” We hardly ever think about the editors or the writers of the magazine, who are successful and have positions that we all have a good chance of achieving if we put forth strong confidence, communication, and commitment to that particular field. These people that we never hear about, yet have the task of composing a major publication, are most likely not the type of flawless beauty that we are all obsessed with. To the point, bad skin doesn’t mean the end of an awesome career path. Keep yo’ chin up.

I'm looking into RoC cosmetics-what's everyone think about it? Of course I was given "Bare minerals has corn starch, RoC is completely natural." Any reviews?

I am coming to the end of my three month trial of Retin-A.
Throughout the time I have been using retin-A, my face has cleared up considerably. The main thing I noticed is that my break outs came to a complete stop. Before I used retin-a, I was getting breakouts daily that would last for a few days, and leave red marks. My breakouts have decreased, though it did make my overall tone redder. I've recently started breaking out more-mainly small zits, but still breakouts that are red marks for a while. I'm fairly positive if I stop retin-a, my breakouts will continue again. I'm planning to keep using retin-a for another 3 more months, but should I check up with the derm about these recent break outs? |

Yeah I saw JAMC Monday (AWESOME!) and the fwys were actually empty to get there. I'm far away enough from the fires to be safe; how about you? 24 Oct 2007 - 11:29
