Can you feel your scars with your hands?

So.. I have some scars on my cheeks (rolling, boxcar) however when I touch my face with my hands I can't feel any scarring. My face feels perfectly smooth!

Does anyone else have this? It bugs the hell out of me because in some lighting it looks pretty deep.. so I dont know what to believe.
