Blackheads and Oil on Accutane

For those of you have started Accutane already, how long was it until blackheads disappeared and oil decreased?

So I should be starting Accutane by next week, and I've already stocked up on Aquaphor, lots of Chapsticks, and my Favorite Moisturizers, but I was just curious what everyone else who's is on it uses. So if you have a few seconds I would love to know what you use for each of these things:

iPledge and Blood Work, How long until I can start Accutane?

I was approved by my dermatologist to be on Accutane a few days ago. How long do you think it will be until I can actually take it? Like how long does it usually take to get signed up for iPledge and have the Bloodwork and such done? I thought I only needed 1 pregnancy test before getting on it, but I heard somewhere now that 2 are needed nefore being able to start, and how far apart do they have to be?

I hate all the waiting stuff, but maybe if I had idea of when I would actually be able to start taking Accutane I would stop stressing about it!

Clear By 2010: My Accutane Journey!

Been hanging around here for a few months now, finally signed up a couple weeks ago, and this is my first post!

I'm a 23 year old female. I have had mild acne (with huge pores and extremely oily skin) since I was in high school, I was always able to keep it pretty much under control with a few topicals (Retin-A and Clindamycin) and birth control, until last summer, my mild acne turned into moderate acne, so I started taking Erythromicin, seemed to work for a little while, and then it got worse again, switched to Doxycycline, everything was pretty good, and then I got my first Cyst's back in March, and since then it has just gotten worse and worse, went to the dermatologist and told her I wanted Accutane, but she wanted me to try Minocycline for 2 months first and see how that went, well it hasn't helped at all and I feel like my acne is now becoming Severe, so I finally have my appointment tomorrow to get Accutane, hopefully everything will go smoothly with that, the blood work, and birth control so I can start ASAP!

I was working at a great job for the last 2 years, but got laid off back at the end of June, and feel like maybe it is all stress related trying to find a new job and pay for bills, and with planning on going back to school in the fall. (and the stress of boys, oh you boys and your being so difficult) So my problem is my acne is keeping me from really looking for a job, because it makes me want to stay inside and hide until it clears. My parents have also convinced me to go see a therapist for my "picking issues" I have OCD with many things, and picking at my face has become one of them, I really want to stop because all I am doing is leaving scars. So my goal is to first stop picking, and then get clear skin and find another great job by 2010, I really think that is going to be a good year for me.

So in conclusion (practicing for when I go back to school in the fall!) I'm mostly making this log for a memory, and to keep my self updated, but I enjoy reading everyone elses log's so I figured I might as well post it on here for everyone else like me that gets comfort from reading about other people going through the same things. I also love when people post pictures, so I am going to try to find some courage to post some as well, but I don't know if that's something I am going to want to go back and look at later on, so we'll see!
