So, I have many indented scars ranging from boxscars to icepicks that are recent to older than 5 years old from acne. Something I've began to notice over the last few weeks is that some of these scars seem to be improving.
I'm not sure if it's the dryness or thinning of skin or what, but I'm almost certain my indented scars have improved since I've been on accutane which is wierd because my redmarks won't fade for the life of me. Has anyone else noticed this? Also, for anyone that finished a course and had scar improvement...have the results remained or are they temporary? |

Yes, it's probably because of the changes of your skin. My skin became thinner and the texture improved a lot.

I hope my deep scars improve!!! i have plenty of those now. Ive heard the same thing from some of my sisters friends who were on tane, Its been about 3 years since they are off and I can see that they have not a blemish, nor scar..nothinggg just little pimples which are microscopic (usually pop up around "that time of the month") and where nothing as compared to what they used to have prior to their tane experience...but I guess you hear all kinds of stories. Im glad i heard yours.. Also for the red scars... Vit E capsules!! If you take a pin and puncture the capsule, apply the liquid directly on the reds & that should help them fade. Ive been using for about a week on the red ones & they seem to be improving. Good luck to you! let me know if your going to try the vit E |

Accutane will make your red marks look worse while you are on it due to poor wound healing. But it should gradually fade once you are done with your course. it probably will take a few months for the marks to fade.
