So, I don't know what to draw from this, really. I was wondering if anyone has seen this website or gone on a "fruitarian" diet. He has a lengthy cure protocol for (all?) "diseases", and many links to other sites with plenty of information.

It's the kind of information that is easy to be skeptical about, but hey, as many of you (and I) believe, you can't really trust anyone pulling the strings in this world...and it's not like this guy is trying to make money.

To give a basic overview, he says eat only fruit, raw salmon/tuna, coconut juice for drink, refute all medical knowledge, (distrust all medical corporations - I don't have a problem with that one, haha), sleep at the right time (9PM-6AM), get rid of ALL chemicals, free yourself of pollutants, free your mind from stress,exercise...Many of these are fundamental principles most of us follow to help getting clear.

What do you all think?

I don't know exactly what I want to say, so I'm just gonna wing it.

I got off of topicals about a year ago (from fear of them causing huge damage to my skin) and I'm starting to think it's the biggest mistake I've ever made. Had horrible breakouts, many of which have scarred, left me with tons of red marks and a huge loss of self-esteem. I worked through the hard times and my acne has definitely improved - the zits I get now aren't really big enough to scar me, I don't think. I've changed my lifestyle in many ways - I frequent the gym, have gained some nice muscle mass, changed my diet, and reduced the stress in my life a ton...I really went from the lowest of low and brought myself into a pretty good place in life, and I willingly recognize that. But I've gotten many new problems since then, including Seborrhea. I was looking at my skin in the mirror today, and it really looks awful...I think I've been fooling myself for many months, saying "your skin is clearing up!" when it really hasn't been. I've got red marks all over, plenty of fresh scars, many dilated pores, and often times thick scaly skin. I've read that the only way to effectively treat Seborrhea is with topicals - something I'm not fond of, as it was topicals which certainly contributed to (or created) this problem. I've come to terms with myself that my acne isn't going to go away any time soon. I'm not insanely depressed, I don't hate myself, I realize it's all temporary- but it all just hurts a little bit. Almost being 21, seeing my older brother often with his flawless skin... I hate feeling like the most attractive my skin will ever be was many years ago. And it certainly doesn't look anywhere near as good as it did when I was using 3 or 4 different topicals.

Thanks for listening,

You say goodbye, I say Hello!

I've noticed that the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser seems to make the dead skin on my face sticky (after showering) and doesn't really remove it... It just sort of "paste-ifies" it. I'm worried that trying a stronger cleanser will irritate my sensitive skin, but I don't really know what to do...any suggestions?

Hey all,

So I figured I'd re-post some old information thats been floating around here for a while.

Since going natural, there was one area of my face that seemed to keep breaking out persistently. I would get breakouts around my mouth, mostly the upper lip. After reading a few articles on the subject, I'm not breaking out around there anymore. Here's what I did:

1. Stopped using toothpaste containing flouride (EDIT: the toothpaste also did not contain sodium lauryl sulfate, a common skin irritant).

2. Changed my toothbrush (I tend to keep my toothbrushes way past their respectful age; I'd had the previous one for about 4 months, maybe more. The thing's bristles were basically flattened. Disgusting.).

3. Started brushing much more thoroughly, making sure to brush my gums, and the entirety of my teeth.

It's kind of gross, yes, but I used to brush the surface of my teeth for about 20 seconds and not much more. Since I changed my brush, toothpaste, and started brushing my entire mouth, gums, teeth, tongue and all, I have virtually not broken out once.

I hope this helps someone!

So, I've been going to the gym for about two weeks now, and I feel GREAT, really energized, my mood is improving rapidly, I'm sleeping like a log, and I'm building some steady muscle, but yesterday I had a pretty surprising breakout. I know some acne takes a few weeks to develop, and this breakout is deep, not just little whiteheads or anything...so I know it's been forming for a while.

Does anyone recall having a minor breakout after starting vigorous exercise? It's usually very easy for me to pinpoint things which could cause me to breakout, but I'm lost on this one, I think this is the only explanation...it seems to make sense, but it's better to be safe than sorry. I also assume and hope breakouts won't be a recurring thing, and will stop as my workouts continue...any thoughts? eusa_doh.gif

... on a side note, two of the spots surfaced, dried, and started to heal in only a day. The holistic route is proving pretty awesome smile.gif.

Thanks peeps.
